Spring has arrived and the month of April is upon us – I can’t wait for the longer days, the warmer weather and the activities of spring! What a winter it has been! Please make note of these five great opportunities during April, and use one, two or all of them to live out your call to be the Salt of the earth and the Light of the world:

#1 – ROOTED Celebration night – Friday April 5 at 7pm in the Sanctuary – come on out for an evening of worship and celebration as our winter 2019 ROOTED session concludes. You will be blessed by the testimonies from participants, spiritual encouragement and public statements of faith! ALL are welcome!

#2 – 12th annual Intentional Church Conference – Saturday April 6 at Decatur FCC – our church has been a part of this conference since its beginning back in 2007 and is once again serving as a partner church. This means you can attend for FREE if you register with the church office. Come and be encouraged by Ben Cachiaras from the Baltimore area and Nancy Beach from the Chicago area, along with a dozen breakout leaders (including our own Samuel Green). The day begins at 9am and will conclude about 3:30pm.

#3 – Dessert Potluck Connections gathering – Sunday April 7 at 6pm in the Family Life Center. Bring your favorite pie, cake, cookies or other dessert and “connect” with others from Clinton FCC. This is a great event to bring a friend and introduce them to your church!

#4 – Easter 2019 at Clinton FCC – Sunday April 21 at 8:15am and 10:45am – Come and celebrate the most important day in the Christian calendar – Resurrection Sunday! We will look at the truth of Colossians 1 – that Christ is Supreme – and celebrate together our victory in Jesus! Please be very intentional and invite others in your world to join you!

#5 – Christian Illusionist Matt Adams – Sunday April 28 at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary – this family event is FREE to anyone attending and is a great event to bring a friend! Matt Adams will be in our county all weekend, sharing at both Deland-Weldon and Clinton schools on Friday, doing a special youth event Saturday night for the community hosted by the Methodist Church, and sharing with local churches on Sunday morning. His message of Jesus is one for the entire family!

It has been said that April showers bring May flowers. If you’ve had April showers, don’t be surprised if God awaits with a gorgeous bouquet of May flowers. It could come tomorrow. Perhaps it won’t come until sometime later. But don’t be discouraged. God’s May flowers are a symbol of His eternal love that was demonstrated at the cross. He is able to cultivate them in season and out of season. They will have been planted, fertilized, and grown with the greatest of care by the ultimate Gardener. Jesus will bring the flowers after using your April showers to water them perfectly.

Friday, April 5 will be our first YAH for 2019! Clinton High School Band Director, Nathan Wheeler, will be bringing a Flute/Clarinet Choir to share with use. Last year the CHS Jazz Band entertained us, so I know this will be delightful as well! Jan will be cooking up a couple yummy soups to warm our bellies. Please bring a salad or dessert to share with your YAH friends.

On Friday, April 26 at 10:30am-3:00pm, we will be lunching at the Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Café in Decatur, followed by a Staley Museum Tour "Soy Bean Capitol of the World" for $3. There is so much history right around our back door and we hope you enjoy seeing and learning about it from time to time. Sign up at our get together or call the office by April 22.

Fri., May 17 - I&M Canal Boat Ride and Lunch for $39. 8:30am - 4:00pm. Sign up and pay by Friday, May 3.

Thur., June 14 - Lost in Time Restaurant & Bakery, followed by Kilgus Farmstead and Country Store for Ice Cream. $4 and lunch on your own. 10:15am - 4:30pm. Sign up by June 7.

We are planning a 2 day trip to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter in Kentucky October 24-25. Details to come.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone and hope to enjoy our year together with God’s blessings!

• Underground Student

Ministry takes place every

Sunday night, and we want you

to join us! Junior High students

meet at 5pm and High School

students at 6:30pm. This is the

perfect opportunity for your

student to have fun with their peers and learn more about Jesus! Please

remember that on March 31 we will be having an Underground Student

Ministry Dodgeball Tournament from 5pm - 7pm in the Family Life Center.

21 due to the Easter holiday. Please enjoy the time with family.

“Walk with Jesus” Family Easter event.

This is an event you surely don’t want to

miss! Fun for all ages!

• Do you have traditional Mexican blankets at home? We need several for

our “Walk with Jesus” Easter event and would love to be able to borrow

some. If you have any that you would be willing to loan out, please label

and drop them off at the church office by April 12. Call Cassandra with any

questions.

• Don’t forget about our special parenting seminars coming up soon! Pre-K

Seminar will be 4/28, K-2nd grade will be 5/5, and 3rd-5th will be 5/19.

Each seminar will be at 9:30am. You will definitely not want to miss this!

Family Easter Event

Wednesday April 17, 2019

Sanctuary Foyer

Tours will begin at 5:30pm and run every 15 minutes! This is an event

you and your family won’t want to miss! Please refer to the First Kids

page in your K for more information on the event and how to get

registered. We look forward to seeing you there!

April 21, 2019 We will have services at 8:15am and 10:45am.

There will be Children’s programming for Nursery - 2 years old.

All other ages are encouraged to join their families in worship.

Please invite your friends and family to join us!

*This year’s Easter offering will go to the Little Galilee Dining Hall Project*

• The next Coffee Break is on Friday,

April 26 at 9:30am. We enjoy God-

centered conversation and friendship.

This ministry is open to women of all

ages and meets in The Underground

area of the church. Please join us and

bring a friend!

• The Freedom Project Tour with

Jennie Allen is coming to Bloomington

on April 12! For more details on how you can go, please visit

• The Final Ladies Night Out is Thursday April 25 at 6:30pm.

Please bring a salad and a friend to hear a wonderful message

and delightful music.

• Mothers & Daughters Luncheon is coming May 4. Keep your

• Area Men’s Fellowship is Tuesday,

April 2 at 6:30pm at Lane Christian

Church. There will be a delicious meal

followed by a wonderful program. An

offering will be taken to support the

ministry of Little Galilee. We hope you

will join us for a great night of

fellowship!

• Reload will be on Friday mornings, April 5 & 19 at 6:15am at the

Clinton YMCA. This ministry is a perfect opportunity to connect

with other men in our church and learn about Jesus. This

ministry will meet on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Please

be sure to note the time and location change! Please contact the

All-Church Information

• Please join us on April 5 for a Rooted

Celebration! This is a great opportunity to celebrate

the awesome things God has done in the life of our

church through Rooted. This is open to everyone!

We hope you will join us!

• The Intentional Church Conference is back this

year and we want you to go! The conference will be

on April 6 at First Christian Church in Decatur, IL.

This conference is free if you call the church office to register.

• Financial Freedom is available at FCC starting April 10 at 6pm in room 2217. In this

4 session workshop, we will learn what it takes to be a faithful steward of all God

has given us. Money is a gift from God and we are charged to be good stewards of

it! We will learn what God has to say about money and how to get control of your

finances to achieve financial freedom! This class is free. Please call the church

office to register or find out more information.

• Please join us on April 7 at 6pm for our All-Church Dessert Potluck. This

connection event is the perfect opportunity to have community with your church

family! Please just bring a dessert of your choice to share!

• Coming Home Sunday Memory Books are in! If you ordered a book, please stop by

the office to pick up your copy.
