Transcript of April 2, 2015 St. Luke’s A United Methodist...
Even though we are taking a short break from our renovation to allow workers time to enjoy Easter actiities, the Trustees have not delayed their research and evaluaion to prioritize Phase 3 projects. They are also continuing to move forward on Phase 2 final details such as interior signage and completing the choir suite. You have not taken a break from, or delayed your support of our restoration! Your dedication, commitment and generosiy are still strong. You increased our Campaign Fund Total again this week to $687,499! Thank you for your continued strength of faith in St. Luke’s Preparing the Present to Transform the Future!
5:00 P.M., TODAY, “FONDREN’S FIRST THURSDAY” This event is a perfect opportunity for St. Luke’s to extend a Christian welcome to friends and neighbors while enjoying all of the community activities. We need greeters to moni-
tor the children’s space jump, serve lemonade and bottled water, and pass out cards announcing our Easter week-end services. Please contact the church or Priscilla Gaby to help out and join the fun!
THRIFT SHOP SCHEDULE AND BROWN BAG SALE Remember, St. Luke’s Thrift Shop is now open on Saturdays only, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. However, in observance of Easter, it will be closed this Saturday, April 4.
Our famous Brown Bag sale will resume next Saturday, April 11, and continue on Saturday, April 19. Tell everyone you know to come by and get all the clothing they can put in a brown paper grocery bag for only $5.00. It’s amazing how much can be stuffed into one bag if it’s folded carefully!
We supply the bags.

Dear Friends,
As Holy Week draws to a close, we more fully enter the
central events of our faith: the death and resurrection of Je-
sus Christ. One ancient Christian referred to these services
as a time of Sorrowful Joy. We experience sorrow at the
death of an innocent man, and yet we know that through
his death comes life; this is our joy. Please join us for any
or all of our weekend observances of this most holy sea-
son.
April 3 at 7:00 p.m. - Good Friday Service of Tenebrae
April 4 at 10:30 a.m. - Easter Egg Hunt at the Parsonage
April 5 at 10:15 a.m. - Easter Sunday
During the Sunday school hour we will be decorating the
outdoor cross with flowers. We will also have a brief time
of prayer and song at the cross. As always, nursery will be
available for the worship services. Again, we are grateful
for the Good News that in Jesus, God has forever defeated
death! Thanks be to God!
Grace and Peace,
Ricky
