STAY WARM, BOYS: The Dodgers tonight continue their three-game series and six-game road trip (1-3) in chilly Chicago with the Cubs, following Monday night’s walk-off loss and yesterday’s day off. The club plays a day game tomorrow, prior to heading home in order to begin a six-game stand against the Diamondbacks and Rockies. Logan Forsythe and Yasmani Grandal were bright spots in the lineup Monday, each collecting two hits. Over his last two games, Forsythe is 5-for-10 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI. Los Angeles is 10-7 at Wrigley Field in the regular season since the start of 2013, but have lost three consecutive contests and four of the last five at the Friendly Confines. Los Angeles’ .588 winning percentage over that time is second in the NL to the San Diego Padres (8-5, .613). THE MEN IN THE PEN: The Dodger bullpen took a tough loss Monday night, despite turning in more great work during the early part of this season. TRAYCING HIS MOVEMENTS: Dodger outfielder Trayce Thompson landed safely in Chicago this afternoon and will be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take the active roster spot of Franklin Gutierrez, who will be placed on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to April 11) with a strained left hamstring. Last year, Thompson batted .225 with 13 homers and 32 RBI before having his season cut short due to two stress fractures in his back. In Triple-A this season, the 26-year-old California native was still searching for his first knock, going 0- for-10 in his first four games. THE 40-MAN IS COMPLETE: After sitting at 39 players on the 40-man roster since the beginning of Spring Training, the Dodgers made a deal Monday to get back to 40. Los Angeles acquired right-handed pitcher Joe Gunkel from Baltimore in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Gunkel, 25, has posted a 28-25 career record with a 3.30 ERA in 99 games (65 starts) over four professional seasons with the Red Sox (2013-15) and Orioles(2015-16) organizations. Last season, he pitched for Baltimore’s Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Bowie, combining to go 8-14 with a 4.02 ERA in 28 starts. The Boynton Beach, Florida, native, was originally selected by the Red Sox in the 18th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
