OUR SCHOOL

Secondary School Inês de Castro was established in November 1985. It’s a public school teaching students between 12 and 17 years old.

Secondary School Inês de Castro is located in the council of Vila Nova de Gaia, in the parish of Canidelo, Quinta do Fojo Street.

The borders of this place are: north - Douro river, northeast - the parish of S. Pedro da Afurada, east - the parish of Santa Marinha, west - the Atlantic Ocean and, at last, south - the parish of Madalena.

Vila Nova de Gaia is a Portuguese city in the district of Oporto, in the north of Portugal. It has about 302 296 inhabitants. It’s situated on the left shore of the river Douro. On the other shore of the river we can find Oporto.

Vila Nova de Gaia is well known because of the Porto wine cellars; it’s considered the capital of this wine. Several companies bottle, store and export different

qualities of this precious wine.

However, Vila Nova de Gaia is also known for its industry: barrel maker’s, glass works, pottery, blacksmith's and fishing.

In Vila Nova de Gaia we can find many sports facilities: swimming-pools, sports halls, …..

…and all other places along the beaches where you can either walk or cycle.

Of course we can only just get a suntan, if this is the kind of exercise we appreciate. We mustn’t forget that most of these

beaches have blue flag.

OUR COUNTRYPortugal is a small country in the south west of Europe, in the Iberian Peninsula. Portugal borders on Spain in the North and in the East. tourists to spend their holidays.
