Jade with embroidered logo. May be worn with pants, shorts, skorts or winter tunic.

GIRLS PANTSPlain navy stretch fabric.Plain navy with zip, press stud waist and bootleg – more feminine look with thicker fabric.Plain navy, thin stretch-cotton alternative – less durable but a cheaper option.To be worn with a long or short sleeve polo, hooded windcheater, zip hooded jacket or rugby jumper.

GIRLS SKORTS

Navy shorts with a panelled front to replicate a skirt, for a more feminine look. To be worn with a long or short sleeve polo.

A summer item. Not to be worn in winter with navy tights.

Navy shorts with elasticated or draw string waist. Zip pockets to the front and small pocket to the back. Polyester/viscose fabric. To be worn with a long or short sleeve polo.

Navy shorts with pockets, elasticised and draw string waist. Light cotton fabric. To be worn with a long or short sleeve polo.

TRACKSUIT PANTS

LONG SLEEVE POLO

Jade with embroidered logo. May be worn with pants, shorts, skorts or winter tunic. May be worn with a navy skivvy underneath. It is not to be worn over a summer dress.

WINTER DRESS

Winter dress in school fabric. Bib may be detached to wear as skirt if preferred. May be worn with navy tights, a long or short sleeved polo, or a navy skivvy (when worn as a tunic).

SKIVVY

Plain navy in colour. May only be worn under winter tunic or long sleeved polo.

Not to be worn on its own with; a skirt, pants, under a short sleeve polo or jacket.

If worn under a jumper, the students will not be permitted to take their jumper off, as they will be out of uniform - only wearing navy with no jade top.

TIGHTSPlain navy. Tights may only be worn under winter uniform items including; skirt, and tunic.

SPORTS T-SHIRTSSchool specific design. Only to be worn by Year 5 and 6 students on Sport Days. May also be worn by students participating in Interschool Sporting Events.

SHORT SLEEVE HOUSE POLOSchool approved: red, blue, green and yellow short sleeve polo. May be worn by students participating in school house activities.

SPORTS SINGLETSProvided by the school for Interschool Sporting Events. Must be worn under a sports t-shirt or long-sleeved school top prior to events - in line with sun-smart policy.

TRACKSUIT PANTSPlain navy. Available with long leg-zips which may be worn at any time - especially appropriate for sporting events.

SLOUCH HAT

Broad brimmed slouch hat, with embroidered school logo. Students will be required to remain undercover if not wearing hats during terms 1 and 4. Not to be worn in class.

BEANIE/SCARF/GLOVES

SCARFPlain navy. May be hand-knitted but must be plain navy in colour. Not to be worn in class.

FOOTWEAR

SHOESShoes must have a thick sole, closed toe and be black in colour. Only a flat heel is acceptable. May be laced or buckled but must be done up.

BOOTSOnly black work style boots are acceptable, not to be worn on Sports Days. It is expected that students will wear appropriate footwear for these days.

SOCKSPlain white, black or navy. Socks must be worn with shoes. Socks with a coloured sole, but no colour on the visible top above the shoe-line are acceptable. No patterns or design are allowed.

RUNNERS

Runners - Plain black only, no other colour should be visible including sides of the sole or logos.

Volleys – A thick canvas shoe with adequate support around ankle and appropriate cushioning under foot. Black only. Thin canvas slip on shoes are not advisable as they do not provide adequate support.

Non marking sole required for sports days. It is expected that students will wear appropriate footwear for these days.



RAIN JACKET

Plain navy jacket with or without logo may be worn during recess, lunchtime or excursions. Should be provided for wet weather days. Not to be worn in class.

Other colours will not be permitted during the school day or whilst representing Woodlands outside the school.

SCRUNCHIES

Plain white, black, navy or matching school fabric.

HAIR TIES Plain navy, black, brown, white or hair coloured.

RIBBONS

Plain navy or white.

HEADBANDS AND HAIR CLIPS White, black or navy (no plastic or ornamental).

HAIR ACCESSORIESChildren with hair long enough to tie back are required to do so. All children should have a clean, tidy appearance with brushed hair.

OTHER ITEMS EARRINGSStudents are restricted to two standard sleepers (no greater than 10mm in diameter) or studs (small, flat, plain, may have birth-stones) silver or gold in colour in each lobe. No other body jewellery; eyebrow, nose, tongue, etc. will be allowed.

JEWELLERYStudents will not be permitted to wear ornamental necklaces, bracelets or rings. Jewellery worn for religious reasons may be permitted only upon written permission from the Uniform Sub-Committee.

NAIL POLISHMay only be worn if clear in colour.

Acrylic/false nails are not permitted.

MAKEUPNo makeup should be worn by students.

TATTOOS/TRANSFERSMust not be visible.

SPECIAL OCCASION EVENTSItems of different clothing may be worn as decided by the Uniform Sub-Committee.

SUNSCREENSunscreen: Parents are responsible for ensuring that children have adequate protection against the sun. Children may reapply sunscreen during the day as required and should use a ‘common sense’ approach to sun exposure.

YEAR 6 TOPSMay be worn over any uniform item, as seen fit by the Year 6 teachers, in consultation with the Uniform Sub-Committee.

A prescribed identifying set of clothes for the members of an organisation.

Conforming to one principle, standard, or rule consistent.

Ensuring all remain equal in their dress code.

Ensuring students wear a uniform provides Woodlands Primary School with the opportunity to promote equality. There are less opportunities for students to be taunted or anxious about their appearance. There is a lesson to be learned in following a specific dress code. This equips students for a life filled with rules and the importance of following them.

It is school policy for children to be in correct school uniform at all times. Failure to adhere to policy will result in students being given a formal warning, and further steps will be taken if this behaviour continues. If there is any reason a student cannot adhere to the Uniform Policy a request for exemption must be put in writing and forwarded to the Uniform Sub-Committee for approval.

All uniform items are available from the Bounty Shop with the exception of Reader Bags which are available from the school office.
