to provide teacher candidates with skills necessary in the development of various psychomotor, cognitive, and affective types of assessment in physical education. Incorporation of alternative and authentic assessment.

Effective Fall 1999, preservice physical education teachers will student teach for an entire semester, rather than the current 10-week period.

Revised pedagogy sequence to include three specific pedagogy courses, effective Fall 1998: KIN 325, Introduction to Physical Education Pedagogy; KIN 370, Instructional Techniques in Elementary Physical Education Pedagogy; and KIN 440, Instructional Techniques in Secondary Physical Education Pedagogy. KIN 370 and 440 will provide 80 to 90 field-based teaching practicum clinical hours.

Effective Fall 1998, the Physical Education Pedagogy Program will initiate a teaching portfolio requirement that will be used to document evidence of having achieved the NCATE/NASPE standards and outcomes.

Computer technology skills are now developed in both KIN 370 and 440 to assist in the development of the required technology portfolio (required by the Department of Education).
