It is hard to believe it's been 10 months since we launched our first 10 month pastoral leadership training in the Philippines. We have had many challenges with context, language, and culture as we have shaped and molded the U.S. based curriculum to fit the needs of the Filipinos. But God has given us many successes. We have watched the students grow in their understanding of who God is and what He has done for us. In 10 months, they have served as counselors in 20 medical clinics, shared the Gospel to 1,706 paents and led 276 people to Christ. Their efforts have strengthened, encouraged and added to the local churches that have hosted these medical clinics. But most of all, they have contributed to Gods kingdom. Next month, they will take their final exams. Keep them in your prayers as they finish the last of their studies and prepare for gradua- on. In His service, Keith Reach Internaonal is very thankful of you, people who are behind us, willing to support the work through sacrificing your finances to provide the organizaons needs and always think of us in their daily prayers. When I was there in US vising some of you, its sll fresh in my mind how wonderful and kind you are. I found new friends that make me feel at home in that foreign land. That was a great experi- ence for me. Before this 2017 will end, I am again knock- ing at your heart to please dont forget Reach In- ternaonal same as what you did when I was there in the states. We will hand in hand help change peoples lives and help those who are limited or seldom gets medical care. Its in my heart that what our team does here are making people feel that somebody loves and cares for them. We are partners in doing this! Your friend, Ian Otbot Applied Too Soon Bernice E. Tutor RN,RM Have you ever tried learning new things in a day and then something comes up that you actu- ally have to demonstrate what you have learned to help someone? Well our students of Kihan Healthcare class had a taste of some real acon this month as we were having our First Aid Class. Talk about ironic, in the middle of my lecture in the aſternoon where everybody was just starng to doze off because it was the boring part of the lecture when suddenly one of our students daughter came rushing by the door with drops of blood coming out of her wrist! From afar, I thought she was just standing there looking for her mom but then I realized she was holding her wrist and it was dripping blood. I had to look thrice to see that she was actually bleeding. She ran towards her mom who was in front of me, mommy embracing her trying to stay calm but wasnt. Her daughter was already cry- ing hard, almost screaming which made mom really nervous she didnt know what to do. Good thing one of the other students reminded her to elevate the hand but as she was doing it she was liſting her child up and down. Panic was in the air as students inside the room trying to do something to help the child, somebody grabbed a chair, some looked around for some cloth to stop the bleeding. Dada was already ahead of them and grabbed the vicms wrist and started pung pressure. I was by the door to get our first aid bag when Pastor Keith came in carrying it. As trained medical personnel, we immediately controlled the bleeding, assessed the wound on how deep the cut was. Praise God it didnt lacerate any major blood vessels, nerve or ligament. We set up the things needed for the repair and was able to sew the wound. The family was really relieved when the sewing part was over not to menon the father came too to calm his child down all the way from the field leaving his work abandoned just to hold his daughter down while we were trying to put anesthesia. Thank God it turned out well. While having coffee aſter class, another paent came in, a young kid at age 6 crying because he had a laceraon on his forehead. We immediately put pressure on his head as it was oozing. It was a small cut but oozing so we had to sew it. Praise God that we were in the community in spite of the different emergencies that happened. Aſter a month we saw both our paents and their wounds healed prey well. I believe that God called us to this community in Kihan to not only serve the people in need but teach the community to beer take care of themselves. We pray that our students will be encouraged to be leaders in their area and they will share what they have learned. To God be the Glory! Reach International Healthcare and Training Inc. Have you ever tried learning new things in a day and then something comes up that you actu-ally have to demonstrate what you have learned to help someone? Well our students of Kihan Healthcare class had a taste of some real action this month as we were having our First Aid Class. Talk about ironic, in the middle of my lecture in the afternoon where everybody was just starting to doze off because it was the boring part of the lecture when suddenly one of our student’s daughter came rushing by the door with drops of blood coming out of her wrist! From afar, I thought she was just standing there looking for her mom but then I realized she was holding her wrist and it was dripping blood. I had to look thrice to see that she was actually bleeding. She ran towards her mom who was in front of me, mommy embracing her trying to stay

calm but wasn’t. Her daughter was already cry-ing hard, almost screaming which made mom really nervous she didn’t know what to do. Good thing one of the other students reminded her to elevate the hand but as she was doing it she was lifting her child up and down. Panic was in the air as students inside the room trying to do something to help

the child, somebody grabbed a chair, some looked around for some cloth to stop the bleeding. Dada was already ahead of them and grabbed the victim’s wrist and started putting pressure. I was by the door to get our first aid bag when Pastor Keith came in carrying it.

As trained medical personnel, we immediately controlled the bleeding, assessed the wound on how deep the cut was. Praise God it didn’t lacerate any major blood vessels, nerve or ligament.
