01 Signum® – the Concept.

Signum is a veneering system that is part of a modular system. All of its components are specifically adapted with each other. The unique possibilities with paste and flowable components give you complete creative freedom. This guide will take you through how to use Signum composite/matrix and Signum cre-active and assist you with helpful tips for your daily work.

Create natural masterpieces and experience the light and aesthetic concept of Signum matrix.

Flowable or paste — the composite system designed for the way you like to work

Create the tooth body with paste and complete the insical region with the flowable Signum matrix materials or simply combine to suit your needs.

Personalised Layering sketch by the matrix concept

04 Signum® – Personalised Layering with Signum® matrix.

Why Signum matrix? ■ Because it is simultaneously fluid yet stable – perfect for delicate application at thin regions.

■ Controlled and efficient processing. ■ Light dynamics resemble those of natural teeth. ■ Smooth transitions possible, just like with ceramics. ■ Identical concept to HeraCeram Matrix.

Two Materials – One Concept. Signum matrix and HeraCeram matrix enjoy a joint pro-cessing system.

A sketch helps a similar layer build-up to be achieved with ceramics or composite material.

The materials within the matrix system have the same designation with Signum as with HeraCeram.

A rapid pre-curing of flowable materials with the HiLite pre 2 supports a quick workflow.

Apply e. g. Signum matrix OTblue to get a youthful light effect in the incisal edge.

Apply the accordant Signum matrix OS to build up the enamel. Final polymerisation for 180 sec. with HiLite power or HiLite power 3D.

05 Signum® – Correction Tips.

Is the contact point missing after polishing? No problem! Roughen the region to be corrected slightly with Diaface, remove dust and keep free of grease!

To produce a dispersion layer: Apply Signum liquid and allow 30 sec. for a reaction. Do not lightcure!

Apply Signum matrix OS or OT to the required area e. g. to get the right contact point or the final shape. Then do the final polymerisation with the HiLite power or HiLite power 3D for 180 sec.

Prepare the final shape with Magnum from the Signum Toolkit. Important! Create a dispersion layer if necessary by Signum liquid (See page 14) before the next step.

07 Signum® – Finishing with the Matrix Formula: You‘ll master how to play with light.

Signum matrix value 1 – 4 are highly fluorescent and opaque. They conceal the intersection of the framework and veneer. The materials are applied to the dentine in a thin layer – before the incisal- and transparent materials.

Signum matrix MD and SDmaterials have low trans-parency and can be used for e. g. margin area and mamelons, but also as opaque dentines.

OT

OS

The Signum matrix opal transparent materials OT give teeth a clear trans-parency, especially in the incisal region. OT1 – High transparency, low opalescence. OT10 – Low translucency but high opalescence.

The opal incisals complete the incisal layering and are the flowable equivalent to the paste enamels with stunning opalescence.

02 Signum matrix – A Variety of Possibilities At a Glance

01 Mamelon dentine (MD) ■ Create mamelons and internal structures. ■ Tip: Thanks to their opacity, MD and SD materials can also be used as opaque dentines or as an option for margins!

02 Secondary dentine (SD) ■ Flowable option beside the paste margins. Especially for extra thin layering in the cervical area or for the inner  structure.

03 Value materials 1 – 4 ■ Increase/adapt brightness from the depths. Their opacity and fluorescence conceal framework structures.

■ Tip: Thinly apply to the opaquer or dentine. VL1 / VL2 for bright colours (e. g. colouring for bleach) VL3 and VL4 – for the daily Vita colours (e. g. A3, B3).

04 Coloured opal transpa materials ■ Materials for patient-oriented customisation, e. g. for incisal/occlusal regions.

■ OTY – Opal Transpa Yellow ■ OTA – Opal Transpa Amber ■ OTG – Opal Transpa Grey ■ OTB – Opal Transpa Blue ■ OTIce – Opal Transpa Cold blue

05 Opal transpa materials ■ Are used along with OS materials, to create transparent areas (e. g. in the incisal region).

■ OT1 – High transparency, low opalescence. ■ OT10 – Low transparency, high brightness.

06 Opal incisal (OS) ■ Flowable option instead of the enamel pastes with the opalescence of natural teeth.

■ OS1 – A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, D2 ■ OS2 – A3, A3.5, B3, D3 ■ OS3 – (A3), C2, C3, C4, D4 ■ OS4 – A4, B4

03 Signum cre-active – Customise any which way you like

Customisation of Signum Veneerings With Signum stains, you can customise your veneer to match your patient’s individual characteristics, e. g. enamel cracks, abrasion edges, white striations and much more besides. Signum cre-active can be used on its own or is quite easy to mix with Signum matrix. So all flowable materials from the Signum matrix set can be changed to any colour you like.

Before application, a dispersion layer for attachment to the veneer must be provided. Otherwise prior conditioning must be carried out with Signum liquid. (See Chapter 5)Tip! All customisations with Signum cre-active become abrasion resistant by being mixed with Signum matrix (e. g. OT1) or subsequent overlayering.

Customisation of Artificial Teeth

Signum cre-active is also absolutely ideal for customising Artificial teeth:

■ Slightly roughen the surface. ■ Apply Signum connector, let it soak in for 2 min. and polymerise under light for 90 sec. using the HiLite Power.

■ Apply the desired effect with Signum cre-active (e. g. maroon for fissures). Polymerise under light for 90 sec.

■ Thinly cover the region with Signum matrix transparent paste (e. g. OT1) and carry out final curing under light for 180 sec. (HiLite power or HiLite power 3D).
