Who are we?
Develop joining technology together with us
DVS is a technical-scientific society which is involved with all matters concerning joining, cutting and coating. Our objective is the extensive promotion of welding and all the processes related to it.
With our cooperative work relating to joining technology, we ensure that the latest results are reflected in research, education, technology, standardisation and certification.
Our society has around 19,000 members. They are looked after by 14 state branches and 75 district branches nation-wide.
With more than 340 DVS educational establishments, we offer comprehensive training and further education possi-bilities throughout the country.
In a large number of lectures, conferences, colloquia and other specialist events, we impart knowledge close to practice year after year.
Around 2,300 experts in joining technology are active on our Technical Committee and in the nearly 200 working groups, subgroups and working parties associated with it.
In close cooperation with the Research Association for Welding and Allied Processes of DVS, we guarantee re-search results close to practice.
Due to cooperation measures with national and internati-onal bodies and organisations, we guarantee that the re-sults of our work are taken into consideration, also at an international level.
In our network, you encounter not only students and trainees but also experts from research, technology and education. Look forward to exchanging experience with welders, welding engineers or welding supervisors and make use of the pos-sibilities of contacts to companies, scientists and engineers.
Materials technologists and materials testers, manufacturers, users, designers and developers, sales employees, managing directors and many others committed to joining technology are also members of our network.
