LAYERING PHILOSOPHY

BASE LAYERWorn closest to the skin, it works to wick away moisture, minimizingheat loss that results when moisture’spresent. Base layers should be synthetic fibers, such as polyesterand polypropylene, that pull moisturefrom the skin and dry quickly.

INSULATING LAYERThe middle layer is designed to trapwarm air against your base layer.The insulating layer should also bemade from synthetic fibers, sincethey retain their insulating propertieseven when wet and allow moreeffective moisture wicking.
