The APOLLO Essentials installation occurs in two stages: the first stage copies the necessary application files to the system and the second stages configures and deploys the required web applications.

Prerequisites The Intergraph Setup Manager consolidates all products within the Intergraph Geospatial Server offering a single installation package. Before launching the setup manager you must have the following prerequisites installed

.NET Framework 4.0

Other APOLLO Essentials dependencies will be detected and prompted to be installed if required later in the configuration wizard.

Intergraph Setup Manager 1. APOLLO Essentials can be installed from the Intergraph Geospatial Server setup

manager by highlighting the product and selecting the “install” action. If the Setup

Manager is not used, skip to the following step

Installation 2. Click Next to start the installation.

3. You will see the Software License Agreement dialog displaying the terms and conditions under which ERDAS APOLLO Essentials is licensed to you. You must accept these terms and conditions to install or use ERDAS APOLLO Essentials.

4. Click I accept and then click Next to accept the licensing terms and continue with your installation. To decline the licensing terms and abort the installation, click Cancel.

5. Select components to be installed:

ERDAS APOLLO Essentials

SDI Components i. This is an optional component not required for a fully operational

APOLLO Essentials install. See Release Notes for more information

6. Choose a destination for your ERDAS APOLLO Essentials files to be installed. You can accept the default location by pressing the Next button.

7. Select Next once you confirm the installation location.

8. Click Install to continue your installation. Click Cancel to abort the installation. During installation, the Installer will display a screen indicating progress and actions being performed.

9. When the installation has completed, the Installation Complete dialog will be displayed

10. To exit the installer, click the Finish button. The Release Notes and configuration wizard will automatically load

Configure Server 1. The configuration wizard can either be invoked straight after the installation of the

required files or by double clicking on the ConfigurationWizard.exe which is located

by default at C:\Intergraph\APOLLO Essentials\PostInstallConfigurator.

2. Click Next to start the configuration wizard. The next dialog may take several

minutes to appear as the configuration wizard scans your system for the required

features.

3. The required features listed will be dependent on the components selected during

the installation stage, for example not installing SDI Components reduces the

number of dependencies.

If a required feature is not presented, a red cross will appear. Please install the

feature and click Refresh to update the detected features. Once all the required

features are installed, click on the Next button to continue.

4. Select the IIS web site to deploy APOLLO Essentials onto. Multiple websites will be

listed here if detected, or if a previous installation is detected it will prompt you to

upgrade the previous installation which will retain all previous 2013 settings and

configuration.

You can also select to enable or disable JPIP support which will configure the

Website application pool to run under the same APOLLO Essentials account. Select

the appropriate site and Click Next to continue.

5. If the SDI Components were installed the following dialog will appear. Select the

website you want to install the GeoMedia SDI Administration Console. This does

not need to be the same website as APOLLO Essentials. Click Next to continue.

6. A summary page detailing the selected options will appear. Click Finish to start

the configuration process.

7. During the configuration process, a progress dialog will appear. Click Cancel if you

want to abort the configuration.

8. When the configuration is complete, the final dialog will appear. You can view

the configuration log file by clicking on the Open Log File button, or click Close to

exit the configuration wizard.

9. Congratulations you can now open the Administration Console and start

configuring and using your APOLLO Essentials server

Installation

1. The APOLLO Essentials Linux installation is distributed as a binary executable that has to be given executable permission and installed as root.

chmod a+x ERDAS-APOLLO-Essentials_2013.bin ./ERDAS-APOLLO-Essentials_2013.bin

2. Accepting the EULA will extract a RPM installation package that needs to be run,

Rpm –I ERDASAPOLLOEssentials-14.00.0000-61.x86_64.rpm

3. Depending on security configuration, SE Linux may need to be configured as a

post-install step to grant access to the newly deployed APOLLO Essentials files. An

example script is available,

/usr/local/intergraph/apollo-essentials/conf/selinux.sh

4. Start the APOLLO Essentials process,

/usr/local/intergraph/apollo-essentials/bin/iwsctl start

5. To configure APOLLO Essentials via the local Administration Console, Sun JRE 1.7

must be installed from http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.

a. For console-only environments, the Administration Console can be

launched remotely via JNLP at

http://localhost/erdas-iws/ecwpmgr.dll?action=jws. Refer to the User

Guide for remote configuration instructions

6. Congratulations you can now open the Administration Console and start

configuring and using your APOLLO Essentials server on Linux

Refer to the User Guide for further installation troubleshooting information.

Windows 1. For customers upgrading from 2013 (v13.00.000x) it is required that the previous

version, including any other Intergraph Geospatial Server 2013 components be

uninstalled first. Within the uninstaller there is a “Leave configuration” option that

should be enabled that retains all configuration files, filelist.db and projection

library changes that will be upgraded.

2. Complete the uninstall process and start the installation procedure for 2014. As

part of the new installation, the configuration wizard will detect the existing

configuration files and upgrade these files where required. Your previous service

configuration and options will remain

3. Congratulations, you have now upgraded to APOLLO Essentials 2014

Linux 1. For customers upgrading from 2013 (v13.00.000x) the upgrade procedure is

handled via RPM. Installation will fail if a 2013 installation is detected, however you

can upgrade by using the –U (upgrade flag)

Rpm –U ERDASAPOLLOEssentials-14.00.0000-61.x86_64.rpm

2. This upgrade will maintain or upgrade the previous configuration files such as the

filelist.db, config.xml matching the workflow on Windows platforms.
