ENDUNAMOO APC PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
2020
Welcome to the Endunamoo APC Professional Programme. The introduction of our APC Professional Programme births a new brand to the family excellence, the Endunamoo Professional Course (“EPC”). This is in addition to the Endunamoo School of Accounting that provides high quality BCTA and CTA support programmes which was introduced in 2014 as well as the Endunamoo Board Course which has been offering some of the most comprehensive ITC preparatory courses in the country since 2015.
Co-founded by Elelwani Muthelo, Ferdinand Mokete and Rendani Muthelo, EPC is the third SAICA-accredited professional programme provider in the country. Its accreditation marks a historic and transformational milestone in the accountancy professional programme providers because it is the first 100% black owned and professionally run SAICA accredited APC Professional Programme Provider.

WELCOME TO EPC
Although the EPC brand resonates strongly with Endunamoo’s founding principle of responding to a need, its individual brand philosophy is captured quite beautifully in the phrase “Empowering to Charge”. Our primary mission is to empower our candidates to become well rounded professionals who think critically, consider different dimensions (social, economic and environmental) in their decision making while able to recognise and uphold ethical values of the highest standard, thereby enabling them to take charge in positions of influence.
To that effect, we have developed an innovation professional programme for first time and repeat APC candidates that is underpinned by a strong focus on business acumen, business writing, critical thinking and ethical leadership.
These skills are developed through various practical and professional methods which includes discussion sessions, individual and group assessments and case study assessments. All these are supported by our personalised, comprehensive and attention directing feedback sessions, training firm engagements and intensive mentorship programme in order to ensure success in the professional assessment as well in the professional working environment.
We thank our partners in the professional and support team, Arson Malola, Elton Pullen, Kumukakwashe Matambo and Livhuwani Muthelo, who played an instrumental role in the accreditation of the EPC. The entire team is looking forward to delivering a high quality and impactful professional programme.
We are excited about the opportunity to welcome our previous CTA and ITC candidates back into our family as we walk together through the final milestone of the CA(SA) journey. We are even more excited about the prospects of partnering with our current and future candidates all the way from BCTA to APC as we empower them to take charge.
On behalf of the EPC Team

Managing Director

In line with a philosophy of Endunamoo being a response to a need, EPC is introduced at a time when there is a great need for intervention following the declining performance in the APC, especially with regards to Black candidates. In 2019 and 2018, the overall APC pass rate was 57% and 68% respectively, well below the average of 86% achieved in the four years following its launch in 2014.

ENDUNAMOO APC PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
Candidate Journey
EPC appreciates that one of its primary roles is to offer a professional programme to sufficiently prepare candidates
eligible to sit for the APC – i.e. it is a means to an end and not an end in itself. Our approach to marking is therefore
much more than simply providing a grading of the candidates’ competency – it is a personalised feedback system
through the journey of professional competence.
We have therefore developed a constructive feedback system that is personalised, motivational and attention
directing. The idea behind this system is to empower candidates with the tools that they can use to independently
evaluate their key weakness areas, areas of strengths and be able to develop strategies to address the identified
weakness and, leverage and further improve on the areas of strengths. During this process, detailed feedback is
provided on all the programme’s prioritised critical skills that we aim to develop within our candidate community.
The objective of this approach is to personalise marking in such a manner that the professional marker can journey
with the candidates throughout the programme - providing implementable recommendations on each assessment
and considering each assessment against the previous recommendations. This would allow the professional team to
assess the growth of the candidate throughout the programme as well as their ability to apply recommendations
intended to benefit them.
The potential success of this approach lies in the
fact that it is aligned to a practical professional
environment whereby feedback is not
general but is rather specific, detailed,
personalised and actionable.

In the journey to professional development, we appreciate that learning cannot be restricted to classroom
lecturing. It is with this appreciation that we have developed an extensive support programme in the form of
engagements via online platforms, through our Caretaking Team and a highly innovative and sophisticated
mentorship programme.
The mentorship programme forms an integral part of our professional programme in that it is the appointed
mentors are dedicated and qualified chartered accountants committed to assist us in the development of out of
classroom critical skills such as business acumen, ethical leadership and effective professional communication. The
mentorship programme is therefore delivered in a structured manner where clear objectives are set in advance in
order to meet the personal needs of the candidates (i.e. mentees). In addition, we have a dedicated Mentorship
Officer looking after the programme to ensure that the programme is effective and value adding.
Our professional programme is supported by various online communication channels which allow the opportunity
to engage with our professional and mentorship team on the content of our contact sessions, business related
matters and other pertinent issues. We have a team working around the clock to ensure that that your queries are
resolved in a timely manner allowing you to focus on other critical issues.
The professional programme is supported by a team Candidate Caretaking Officers (CCOs) who acts as a candidate
liaison to effectively ‘take care’ of the candidates for the duration of the specific course.

Sophisticated Candidate SupportDistinctiveness #2
In addition to meeting the candidates’ administration
needs, the CCOs are responsible for weekly calls to
candidates to provide non-academic morale
support. These weekly calls are intimate and
provide coaching to the candidates, from a
personal perspective.
www.endunamoo.co.za/apc
Our APC Professional Programme is structured to integrate professional development and academic development
in a practical manner. We understand as much as our candidates would be assessed in an examination style, the key
competencies being assessed are primarily developed outside the classroom structure – in fact they are developed
within a working environment.
Despite this fact, we further strongly believe that there is a link between performance in a classroom environment
and a professional working environment – that candidates who are dedicated to their professional programme
would likely be dedicated to their professional responsibilities in a working environment.
With this understanding and belief, EPC shall be partnering with significant employer / training firms where there
is greater need for intervention to turnaround the tide for declined performance in the APC assessment. The
partnerships are intended to facilitate key discussions on candidates’ feedback in a classroom and professional
working environment with a view of engaging and enhancing the development of the candidates’ competencies
from both perspectives.
The candidates’ areas of strengths, evident in the working environment that could be better be leveraged in our
professional programme and those evident in the professional programme that could benefit the employer firms
would be highlighted.
In addition, we would be able to highlight areas for
improvement – which if appropriately targeted and
improved, would increase the likelihood of success
in the professional programme and eventually
in the APC assessment.

Distinctiveness
Training Office EngagementsDistinctiveness #3
www.endunamoo.co.za/apc 9
Effective communication is a critical skill for success in the APC assessment as well as in a professional
environment – although it can be accepted that proficiency in the written language is much more pronounced in
the APC assessment. This is because demonstration of professional competence demands that candidates possess
the ability to communicate their thoughts in a concise and logical manner, at a tone that is appropriate to the
respective audience and in an appropriate format.
We recognise that not all candidates would have attained an appropriate level of language proficiency by the time
of the APC assessment. We have therefore taken it upon ourselves to incorporate business writing as a cornerstone
of our APC Professional Programme to empower our candidates with efficient and effective communication skills
by the end of the course.
This phase of the programme would be delivered through a one-day workshop that would be facilitated by
seasoned language experts and business writing facilitators. This practical one-day workshop would be aimed at
building skills and confidence in professional writing practices.
In order to emphasise the pronouncement of effective business writing skills as an integral part of the professional
programme, business writing is integrated as a key competence area in all our milestone assessments.
Furthermore, our marking team shall provide specific feedback on this competence area in addition to providing
feedback on other competence area.

APC Professional Courses
Our APC Professional Programme has four distinct courses in order to meet the various needs of candidates:
16 www.endunamoo.co.za/apc | Endunamoo means to empower someone | Empowering to Charge
Q: Is EPC accredited by SAICA?
A: Yes, EPC was accredited by SAICA in April 2020 to offer an APC Professional Programme.
ENDUNAMOO APC PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does the accreditation of EPC mean?
A: The accreditation is an affirmation of the team’s capability to deliver a high-quality professional programme to prospective
candidates seeking to sit for the APC. It also grants EPC the right to issue to candidates with certificates of eligibility that are valid
for a period of three years from issue.
Q: Does the accreditation mean that I can register my BCTA and CTA directly with Endunamoo?
A: No, EPC is only accredited to deliver an APC Professional Programme. The sister company, Endunamoo School of Accounting, is
not SAICA accredited qualification but instead only offers support courses to distance learning candidates – therefore candidates are
required to first register with a SAICA accredited higher education institution and only register for support courses in the form of
lecturing and tutorial programmes. Furthermore, Endunamoo Board Course offers ITC preparatory courses that do not require
accreditation from SAICA.
Q: What confidence do I have that EPC will help me develop the professional skills I need for success in the APC?
A: EPC is led by an experienced executive and its professional programme is delivered by a professional team that has successfully
delivered BCTA, CTA and ITC programmes over the past five years. In addition, the academic head has been the external reviewer for
the actual APC since its inception in 2014. Furthermore, its distinct professional programme has underwent rigorous assessment by
the SAICA Accreditation Review Panel.
Q: Is the APC Professional Programme offered on a face to face or online basis?
A: EPC shall offer a fully service programme comprising both face to face contact sessions and online sessions only at the delivery
campuses. Any other regions will be supported via the online programme. The online programme is delivered via a combination of
live streaming of the scheduled contact sessions, pre-recorded sessions and screencasts. All the videos are accessible via our student
portal at portal.endunamoo.co.za.
Q: If I am registered in a region that is not fully serviced, how will the formal case study assessments work?
A: In the 2020 academic year, EPC shall offer formal case study assessments only at its delivery campus. Any candidate who resides
in a province outside the province in which the delivery campus is based and is registered for our online programme will be required
to travel, at their own expense, to our delivery campus. It is worth noting that EPC is looking to partner with various providers of
venue facilities in regions outside Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban in order to better support candidates based outside these
regions. However, until further notice, the designated delivery campuses will serve as the official assessment centres.
Q: What course materials are provided during the professional programme?
A: It is noteworthy that this is not a technical course but rather a professional programme. Therefore, our approach to course
material is a much different to what candidates would have experienced during CTA and ITC. The course materials will, as a
minimum, include the business writing workshop materials, discussion materials for each phase, milestone individual and group
assignments and case-study based assessments.

ENDUNAMOO APC PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My employer is paying the EPC fees on my behalf; do I need to pay the non-refundable registration fee?
A: The registration fee is waived if you provide a written confirmation of the employer’s commitment to settle the fees due to EPC.
However, the account remains the responsibility of the candidate if, for whatever reason, the employer does not settle the account
in full. If the employer settles the account after the candidate has paid the registration fee, the credit due to the candidate will be
refunded within 72 hours.
Q: How do I become eligible to receive a certificate that would allow me to sit for the APC2020?
A: Our professional programme has several milestones that encourages consistent commitment throughout the programme. Prior
to awarding a certificate of eligibility, we consider both the submissions of the assessments as well as the quality of those
submissions. Resubmissions is strongly encouraged in order to ensure that the objective of the assessment is achieved for each
candidate. In addition, the engagement in the mentorship programme would contribute to our evaluation of our candidates’
competence.
Q: Do all the milestone assessments have the same weighting?
A: No, greater weighting is given to the three case study assessments and, as a minimum, candidates need to ensure that they
achieve an overall evaluation of “Competent” or “Highly Competent” of two of the three cases. Candidates are reminded that
although greater weighted is given to the case studies, these are not the only primary indicators of competence.
Q: What happens if I am enrolled into the Accelerated Professional Course awaiting the ITC June 2020 results, and when the results are released, I find that I am not successful?
A: 75% of the fees paid towards the Accelerated Professional Course will be transferred into the ITC Repeaters Course that is offered
by Endunamoo Board Course. The balance of the fees (25% of the amount paid to us) will be rolled forward into our APC Professional
Programme ahead of APC2021. Unfortunately, we will not allow candidates to complete the course should they not successfully
completed their ITC.
Q: What happens if I am found not to have met the level of competence to be awarded a certificate of eligibility by Endunamoo Professional Course. What are my options?
A: We encourage all our candidates that do not meet the level of competence to sit for the APC assessment to enrol into our APC
Deferred Course. This course is primarily aimed at providing an extended professional development support ahead of the APC for
2021. This programme will be candidate specific and a development programme will be designed to meet all the areas in which the
candidate fell short in terms of the critical skills required for success.
Q: How long does it take for results to be released after each assessment?
A: Based on our enrolment figures and the need to deliver a comprehensive and personalised feedback, we envisage that it would
take between two to three weeks to release the results after each milestone assessment.
Q: What are Endunamoo Board Course’s banking details?
A: Bank: FNB | Payee: Endunamoo Professional Course | Account number: 628 4339 1252 | Type: Cheque / Current | Branch: 250655
