AOP Awards - Intro
• Celebrating innovation and creativity in UK digital media for the last 10 years
• Last year’s event = our biggest ever: 1000 people• 2012 event returns to the Roundhouse on 19 July• 20 Categories this year, including new awards for
social media, pureplay digital, technology partner• How to enter this year: deadline 16 March• The following 5 top tips for successful AOP
Award entries taken from our judges’ feedback…
1. Keep it simple
• Keep it clear and be specific• Judges will have many entries to review, so
keeping below the word limit may work in your favour
• Be sure your entry is easy to explain concisely• Give some background, and outline your
objectives and strategy KISS image by bjornmeansbear
2. Facts not fluff
• Give specific examples • The more detail you can provide in terms of
revenue and web traffic stats, the stronger your case for winning• Our judges are each asked to sign a confidentiality
form, so no fear of sensitive data being used inappropriately

3. Wow Factor • Ask someone with an objective view to read your entry. If they’re
not impressed and don’t say:

4. Start early• Start preparing entries early • Keep a log, building up useful examples, for
next year• Data, testimonials, relevant links, commercial

5. Last, but not least…
• Get input from different departments• Commercial results all important (figures, as well
as percentages)• Remember the audience you’re writing for

opportunity to present data in innovative ways
