Fire protection to help prevent the worst from happeningOur contract beds have all passed the FIRA recommended ‘Crib 5’ ignition test; a test that requires our beds’ materials do not ignite when subjected to a burning 17g wooden crib made of dry stacked wood. This means all our contract beds more than meet the legal minimum British Standard, BS7177 (2008), for flame retardancy standard for hotels and contract use.

Effective protection from bed bug infestationThe threat of bed bug infestation is a major concern for all commercial properties. With bed bugs able to survive for a year without feeding, removing them can be extremely difficult. To counter this threat, all Relyon contract beds are treated with a comprehensive, skin safe, anti-bed bug treatment that kills bed bugs within minutes of contact, providing durable long-lasting protection against infestation.

We take sustainability seriously The subject of global warming and sustainability is rarely out of the news. Increasingly, customers are showing a preference for those businesses that take the subject seriously. Relyon is one of those businesses.

With a broader scope than ISO 14001, the company’s environmental management system meets the requirements of the highly regarded environmental Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP). Part of Relyon’s FISP membership involves our commitment to the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests, recognised by our compliance to the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council, FSC.

Our Ortho range takes the focus on sustainability a step further. In addition to every part of the bed being recyclable, they are partly constructed from end of life fibres collected from our closed loop recycling programme and polyester produced from recycled PET bottles, producing a range with impeccable sustainability credentials.

HousekeepingRelyon Contract mattresses are upholstered with layers of comfortable fillings which tend to ‘settle’ naturally. This settlement will be more noticeable in areas under the most body weight. This is quite normal and should not cause concern. In order to extend the life of the mattress and provide your guests with the most comfortable sleep our mattress labels include ‘housekeeping instructions’ toward the bottom of the label which clearly advise when the mattress needs rotating and/or flipping.

Natural Contract 2000 and Natural Contract 1700 are easy care, no turn mattresses so only need rotating.

Natural Contract 1500, the Contract Ortho’s and the Contract Essential mattresses are turnable, both sides of the mattresses can be used.

Zip and link sleep solutions Relyon Contract zip and link beds allow you to provide flexibility and maximise room occupancy when two beds are required rather than one. Super king and king size beds can be split into two single beds. The divans are linked at both ends with metal linking bars and the mattresses zipped together along their full length. Splitting the zip and link beds into two single beds also makes access easier for housekeeping; cleaning, vacuuming or turning and rotating the mattress. Zip and link beds also provide an ideal solution where you would like to offer different tensions. A “comfortable bed” is a personal preference. Some people prefer a softer bed whereas others favour a firmer feel.
