EBOTSE PARKRUN
The parkrun at the Ebotse Golf & Country Estate is held every Saturday at 08:00 and is free
of charge (everyone welcome including walkers). See parkrun.co.za for more information or call
Iain Morshead on 076 892 5307 for more information.
Burger, Kamffer and Barry dominate as the Ebotse parkrun breaks the 100 barrier
Kallie Burger, Boksburg's fastest male runner set a blistering pace to gain a commanding lead, but
missed a turn and an opportunity to win his first parkrun.
Multiple parkrun winner Armand Bosman, showed true sportsmanship as he gave up his run to help Kallie
get back on course.
Young Heinrich Kamffer converted his potential into a maiden win in a superb time of 19 minutes dead.
Lorraine Barry blasted the route and set a new ladies record of 21 minutes 18 seconds.
Being competitive does not mean that you have to always aim for personal best times at all. In fact it is
not possible to better your time at every parkrun. We are seeing a competiteveness among participants
when it comes to the number of parkrun events they have completed. Gary Jackson & Marque Bartlett
continue to dominate the Ebotse parkrun points competition.
From Ebotse parkrun,

Congratulations to iAn Stephens on his Ebotse Run PB on Saturday, June 30, 2012.
The committee will be looking at sending teams (per age category) to represent the club at this
inter-club challenge, more information in next week’s Snippets. Blitz (time trial) results will be
used to select the teams.

CROSS COUNTRY
CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE NO. 6 – JULY 07, 2012
A very successful cross country league event was hosted by Boksburg Athletic Club on
Saturday, July 07, 2012.
Thank you to all those members and family members that helped on Friday to set up the
course and on Saturday to ensure that everything ran according to plan. There are so
many people that need to be thanked, but you know who you are.
Dear All
I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to
Frank Da Ascencao and Kallie Burger who came up with the brilliant idea of changing
the old cross country route to a new and more challenging one.
It is also evident by all the positive feedback we received that the participants enjoyed the
new route as well.
I would also like to thank all the Boksburg Athletic Club members for their help during
the preparation of this league event and for helping on the day. This was a special league
event for me as we had a lot of helpers compared to previous years.
Willie Maisela
Cross Country Captain.
League 6 results will be in the next set of Snippets.

B I N G O Our annual Bingo Evening will take place on Friday, August 31, 2012 in the
VIP Hall. As all members that have joined us before knows it is a great
evening, so please bring your family and friends and come and spend a fun
filled evening with the committee. The Morrison rent-a-crowd have already
advised they will be attending so please join us. We also are looking for
prizes towards the evening (so scratch through your cupboards and donate
some prizes to the club). We will accept wedding gifts that have never been
used, birthday presents that you don’t like etc etc. We are not fussy, but
please it must not have been used before.
Bob Harvey will be the Bingo Master and hopefully he will find some sexy
sidekick this year to help him with the evening’s proceedings.
The final big prizes at the end of the evening have ranged from TV’s to
sound systems, to DVD players, to Playstation, Garmin etc so it really is
worth your while to join us for the evening.
