AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL

COMMUNION

when one cannot receive

the Holy Eucharist:

My Jesus,

I believe that You

are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already

there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from

You. Amen.

THE PATRIOTIC ROSARY will be re-cited at 8am on Saturday, July 4th followed by the weekday Mass. The Patriotic Rosary prays for all branches of our government, for our civic lead-

ers local, state and national, and for the people in each of the 50 states. It is a poignant time to of-fer prayers for our nation to Our Lady...

UPDATING THE SICK LIST: I deeply appreciate how you all take very seriously the charitable act of praying for one another - especially for those requesting prayer during times of illness. I wish to continue to encourage that beautiful Spiritual Work of Mercy. Our bulletin list contains names of those who (on their own behalf or by a family member) ask to be prayed for. It has been my practice to re-move a name only if we are directed to so as to avoid any offence being taken. However, for clarity's sake - I'm going to change that policy just a bit. Two times a year (January and July) we will start the list over (keeping only those names on the list who have re-cently asked to be placed on the list.) If you wish to continue to be on the list - then simply alert the office to that fact and you will be added back to the list. This will begin with the July 5th bulletin. Fr. Bob

EXPOSITION/ADORATION WILL RETURN TO RLF in a limited way and following Covid19 Protocols beginning Friday, July 1st. We will resume holding Exposition/Adoration on the days we previously held it in RLF: i.e., Mondays, Tuesday

and Fridays. However, we will have fewer hours on those days. We will have exposition/adoration from 4pm - 8pm in the main Church (not the adoration Chapel. Those volunteers who have agreed to pray during certain hours will be directed to additional sani-tizing protocols. For the public who wish to come and adore the Lord in the Holy Eucharist - please use the west doors of the Gathering Space and not the back sacristy door. Thank you to those who have committed to certain hours which allow us to begin again this important devotion in the life of our Parish. Fr. Bob

Victim Assistance Statement of the

Diocese of Crookston If you or someone you know has been the victim of sex-ual misconduct on the part of a priest, deacon, or indi-vidual representing the Diocese of Crookston, its par-ishes, or its schools, your first call should be to law en-forcement. In addition, the diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator is available at 218-281-7895 (24-hour confidential number).

“…whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.” (Matthew 10:38) Pope Benedict XVI said, “The world offers you com-fort. But you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness.” “Comfort” puts me first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus” puts God and others first. Why settle for comfort when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your cross, ask Jesus for guidance on using your gifts and live the life God intended for you!

“Holy Hearts” Flower Garden To honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a raised bed flower garden was installed at St. Joseph’s Church by parishioners Val and Vern Gagnon and Cal and Sue Harmoning a number of years ago. Each year they planted the annuals in the flowerbed and

maintained them throughout the summer. We thank them for this. They asked if St. Joseph’s Guild would be able to continue the tradition. Guild President, Bev Schmitz, brought this request to the guild and the group agreed to take up the project. In an agreement with Cider Mill and the help of several others, perennial flowers and shrubs have been installed with a mulch overlay to preserve moisture and facilitate greater ease in maintenance. Plants include Daylilies, Rose shrub, Spirea, Daylily—Ruby Stellas, Sedum, Echinanea, Coneflower, Heliopsis, Hydrangea Shrubs. The annuals planted along the front of the flower bed were donated and installed by Mary Carriere. Many thanks to all who are involved.
