Internationally renowned route designer and Clerk of the Course Kim Bannister has previously run four major rallies through Mongolia and has long wished for an opportunity to explore the country more widely without the time pressures to move on to the next country. Visiting far-flung locations such as Ushglin Uvur, Amarbayasgalant, Ganga Lake and the Khongor Sand Dunes, the new event will include several rest days, the Mongolian countryside and entertainments such as a Naadam festival of horsemanship and archery. “Mongolia is surely the world’s final frontier,” says Kim Bannister, “and this might be the last opportunity to experience the country before its ancient traditions are extinguished”.
