How Did Anzac Day Start?

• ANZAC Day started with the Australian and New Zealand corps landing on the Gallipoli peninsula as the first significant combat of the war for those two countries. As they made there way out of the boats and up the hills, little did they know that the German troops were purposely waiting for them over the hill. The purpose o killed thousands of ANZACS and was known to be one of the worst invasions in the war! Even though many survived the bravery of ones that didn't were made thought of to introduce ANZAC DAY.

Red Poppy:• The red poppy is the symbol for ANZAC Day, it

represents the bloodshed of fallen soldiers and the bloodiest battles. The red poppy was the first plant to regrow in the muddy fields where the troops had been. Once the war was over there were fields and fields of bloomed poppies which symbolized that they were home.
