Year 3&4: Year 3&4 looked at a book called, It’s okay to be different – by Todd Parr. Although the book has very basic language and images, the message it portrayed was extremely powerful. Pupils took part in a discussion about the book, and the importance of being yourself. How it’s ok to be different, and that we should be celebrating our differences and uniqueness, rather than mocking it. This led to paired work, where pupils had to come up with their own statements.

In their reflection lesson, pupils produced a ‘graffiti wall’ to summarise what they had learnt over the week.

Student Leadership Assembly:

As you all may know, this week is anti-bullying week. Anti-

bullying week shines a spotlight on bullying and encourages

all children, teachers, and parents to take action against

bullying throughout this year.

There is no specific definition of bullying. HOWEVER, it is

usually behaviour which is designed to hurt someone

emotionally or mentally. Bullying can be verbal, physical, or

even cyber. Even a joke or a comment could upset someone.

Whatever form it takes, it is always hurtful and even scary for

the victim. We need to take action individually and as a

school to prevent bullying and create a safe learning

environment where we can all be ourselves.

This year, the theme of Anti-Bullying week is All Different All

Equal. We want to empower everyone to celebrate what

makes them and others unique. We want every single person

in this room to feel valued for what they are, and most of all

we want to stop all forms of bullying in our school.

Year 7&8: Year 7&8 planned and designed posters.
