Anthroposophy: The Revelation of Christ

"Christ is always revealing Himself; therefore, we may accept what He hasrevealed in the form of Anthroposophy as a true Christ-revelation.

Members have often ased me how they can establish a relationship withChrist. !his is a naive uestion; for everything we strive for, every line weread of our anthroposophical science, is an entering into a relationshipwith Christ. #n a certain sense, we really do nothing else." — Rudolf

Steiner

Rudolf Steiner:  "!he mission of man is to accomplish for the imperfectpart of his being what divine wisdom once accomplished for his physicalbody. He must ennoble his astral body and therewith the world aroundhim."Rudolf Steiner:  "May our way to the spiritual through

anthroposophy be at one and the same time the way to Christthrough the spirit."

Rudolf Steiner:  $!he initiate has only acuired the strength to lift his headto the heights of nowledge by guiding his heart to the depths ofveneration and devotion.%

Rudolf Steiner:  "Luciferic and Ahrimanic forces surge through theworld, but owing to the fact that we are conscious of Christ, owingto our Christ-consciousness, we are like a sailor who must steerhis boat through the storms called up by Lucifer and Ahriman. We can steer our boat through that ocean, whose liing substance

consists of Lucifer and of Ahriman! we can do this in spite ofeerything, because we sit in our Christ-boat."

What stands behind people’s refutations of

spiritual  science?On January 20, 2016 By Ridzerd

What people today so often raise against the results of spiritual science stems in fact from a

vague, deepseated, fear in their souls! "o much of #hat human civilization has produced in

recent centuries contradicts spiritual science in such a #ay that, to most, it is no more than the

advent of something strange!

$ear of the un%no#n is a fact of life people #ill not admit, preferring to disguise it in all sorts

of refutations and logical criticism! &hose #ho can see through these things realize that, in the

end, the arguments held 'y the opponents of spiritual science are simply an apology for the

fear they hold in their souls!

!hese rules are written for all disciples& Attend you to them.

'efore the eyes can see, they must be incapable of tears. 'efore the ear

can hear, it must have lost its sensitiveness. 'efore the voice can spea inthe presence of the Masters it must have lost the power to wound. 'eforethe soul can stand in the presence of the Masters its feet must be washedin the blood of the heart.

(. )ill out ambition.

*. )ill out desire of life.

+. )ill out desire of comfort.

. or as those wor who are ambitious.

espect life as those do who desire it. 'e happy as those are who live forhappiness.

/ee in the heart the source of evil and e0punge it. #t lives fruitfully in theheart of the devoted disciple as well as in the heart of the man of desire.1nly the strong can ill it out. !he wea must wait for its growth, itsfruition, its death. And it is a plant that lives and increases throughout the

ages. #t flowers when the man has accumulated unto himself innumerablee0istences. He who will enter upon the path of power must tear this thingout of his heart. And then the heart will bleed, and the whole life of theman seem to be utterly dissolved. !his ordeal must be endured; it maycome at the first step of the perilous ladder which leads to the path of life&it may not come until the last. 'ut, 1 disciple, remember that it has to beendured& and fasten the energies of your soul upon the tas. 2ive neitherin the present nor the future, but in the eternal. !his giant weed cannotflower there& this blot upon e0istence is wiped out by the very atmosphereof eternal thought.

3. )ill out all sense of separateness.

4. )ill out desire for sensation.

5. )ill out the hunger for growth.

6. 7et stand alone and isolated, because nothing that is imbodied, nothingthat is conscious of separation, nothing that is out of the eternal, can aidyou. 2earn from sensation and observe it, because only so can youcommence the science of self-nowledge, and plant your foot on the firststep of the ladder. 8row as the flower grows, unconsciously, but eagerly

an0ious to open its soul to the air. /o must you press forward to openyour soul to the eternal. 'ut it must be the eternal that draws forth yourstrength and beauty, not desire of growth. 9or in the one case you developin the lu0uriance of purity, in the other you harden by the forcible passionfor personal stature.

:. esire only that which is within you.

(<. esire only that which is beyond you.

((. esire only that which is unattainable.

(*. 9or within you is the light of the world = the only light that can beshed upon the >ath. #f you are unable to perceive it within you, it isuseless to loo for it elsewhere. #t is beyond you; because when you reach

it you have lost yourself. #t is unattainable, because it for ever recedes.7ou will enter the light, but you will never touch the flame.

(+. esire power ardently.

(. esire peace fervently.

(3. esire possessions above all.

(4. 'ut those possessions must belong to

the pure soul only, and be possessed therefore by all pure souls eually, and thus be the especial property of the whole only when united. Hungerfor such possessions as can be held by the pure soul, that you mayaccumulate wealth for that united spirit of life which is your only true self.!he peace you shall desire is that sacred peace which nothing can disturb, and in which the soul grows as does the holy flower upon the still lagoons. And that power which the disciple shall covet is that which shall mae himappear as nothing in the eyes of men.

(5. /ee out the way.

(6. /ee the way by retreating within.

(:. /ee the way by advancing boldly without.

*<. /ee it not by any one road. !o each temperament there is one roadwhich seems the most desirable. 'ut the way is not found by devotionalone, by religious contemplation alone, by ardent progress, by self-sacrificing labor, by studious observation of life. ?one alone can tae thedisciple more than one step onward. All steps are necessary to mae upthe ladder. !he vices of men become steps in the ladder, one by one, as

Page 5: Anthroposophy Equal CHRIST

they are surmounted. !he virtues of man are steps indeed, necessary =not by any means to be dispensed with. 7et, though they create a fairatmosphere and a happy future, they are useless if they stand alone. !hewhole nature of man must be used wisely by the one who desires to enterthe way. @ach man is to himself absolutely the way, the truth, and the life.

'ut he is only so when he grasps his whole individuality firmly, and, by theforce of his awaened spiritual will, recognies this individuality as nothimself, but that thing which he has with pain created for his own use, andby means of which he purposes, as his growth slowly develops hisintelligence, to reach to the life beyond individuality. hen he nows thatfor this his wonderful comple0 separated life e0ists, then, indeed, and thenonly, he is upon the way. /ee it by plunging into the mysterious andglorious depths of your own inmost being. /ee it by testing alle0perience, by utiliing the senses in order to understand the growth andmeaning of individuality, and the beauty and obscurity of those other

divine fragments which are struggling side by side with you, and form therace to which you belong. /ee it by study of the laws of being, the lawsof nature, the laws of the supernatural& and see it by maing theprofound obeisance of the soul to the dim star that burns within. /teadily,as you watch and worship, its light will grow stronger. !hen you may nowyou have found the beginning of the way. And when you have found theend its light will suddenly become the infinite light.

*(. 2oo for the flower to bloom in the silence that follows the storm& nottill then.

#t shall grow, it will shoot up, it will mae branches and leaves and formbuds, while the storm continues, while the battle lasts. 'ut not till thewhole personality of the man is dissolved and melted = not until it is heldby the divine fragment which has created it, as a mere subBect for gravee0periment and e0perience = not until the whole nature has yielded andbecome subBect unto its higher self, can the bloom open. !hen will come acalm such as comes in a tropical country after the heavy rain, when?ature wors so swiftly that one may see her action. /uch a calm willcome to the harassed spirit. And in the deep silence the mysterious event

will occur which will prove that the way has been found. Call it by whatname you will, it is a voice that speas where there is none to spea = itis a messenger that comes, a messenger without form or substance; or itis the flower of the soul that has opened. #t cannot be described by anymetaphor. 'ut it can be felt after, looed for, and desired, even amid theraging of the storm. !he silence may last a moment of time or it may lasta thousand years. 'ut it will end. 7et you will carry its strength with you.Again and again the battle must be fought and won. #t is only for aninterval that ?ature can be still.

!hese written above are the first of the rules which are written on thewalls of the Hall of 2earning. !hose that as shall have. !hose that desire

Rudolf Steiner, December 22, 1909:

"...!his noble anger in early youth permeates the soul and, as life goes on,becomes transformed. #n the second half it reappears in a different formas the uality of lovingindness and goodness. e shall not often find

loving, bounteous goodness in the latter part of someoneEs life--otherthings being eual, and if nothing has occurred to distort the seuence--without finding that it was e0pressed in oneEs early years by a noble angeraroused at the stupidity of the ugly things of life. #n ordinary life we find aarmic connection that we may visualie by saying that the hand thatnever clenched a fist in noble anger in the first half of life will not easily bestretched forth in blessing in the latter half."

Strange as it may sound, it is nevertheless trueOn January , 2016 By Ridzerd

Would it sounds strange to our time, it is true, that people #ho lie a lot, for e4ample #ounds

under other#ise identical conditions are more difficult to cure than #ith honest people!

O'viously one can not a'solutely conclude this, there may also 'e other reasons! 5o#ever,

provided that all the other conditions are the same, then in people lying #ounds to heal more

difficult than in truthhumans!
