In the coldest temperatures to prevail on our planet,they sink up to 70 degrees Cent below 0 and the wind reached up to 300h/km.It covers 90% of the ice on the Earth and makes it the largest reservoir of fresh water.

Approximately 99% of the area is covered with ice and the average thickness reaches up to 2500 m .with various points measuring 4775 m.If this ice were to melt completely,all the oceans would rise by about 70 m of their current levels.
