coverage that the insured is aliveat thepoint in time the compensation isdisbursed.

Permanent medical disablement is established onthe basis of atable issued by the Norwegian Ministry of Health and SocialAffairs inits Regulations of 21 April 1997, parts II and III, but nottheNational Insurance Scheme's other codes of regulations. Theassessment mustbe purely tabular.

For accidents that are not specified in the table, thedegree of disability is established on the basis of anestimated comparison with the accidental injuriesin thetable. For disablement of the limbs and organsthat arementioned, the table's rates form under anycircumstances the limit for the Company'sliability to paycompensation. For composite injuries to theindividual

organ or limb, the total loss of functional ability will beassessed against the rate that appliesfor complete lossof functional ability in theindividual limb.

The degree of disablement for the loss of multiple limbs ororgans may not collectively exceed 100 %. If a limb or organ was previously partiallylost or useless, a corresponding deduction will be made. When a pathological condition or proclivity contributes tothe disability that arises after the injury being higher thanwhat is dictated by the injury alone, the same distributionrule applies as in the section above. Dental damage andinjuries that have a disfiguring affect do not give any right todisablement benefits.

Compensation for disablement is incurred at the earliestwhenone year has passed after the insurance eventoccurred. Ifit is obvious at an earlier point in time thattheCompany in any event will have to pay a part of theamount being claimed, then acorresponding advance willbe disbursed. If any of the parties are of the opinion thatthe medical degree of disablement could change, arequest can be made for final settlement to be postponedupto a maximum of 3 years after the insurance eventoccurred.
