Section 4: STUD BEEF CATTLE

REGULATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

1. The Stud Beef Cattle Section will be conducted as an “All Breeds” Competition.

2. Exhibits are to be poled or with very short stubs. Horned cattle may be accepted at the

discretion of the Chief Steward.

3. Judging will commence at 9.00am on Saturday 6th August 2016 with the non led

classes.

4. Entry Forms and Entry Fees are to be lodged with The Secretary, Sarina Show Society Inc.,

PO Box 119, Sarina Qld 4737 or FAX 07 4956 2036 by Friday 22nd July 2016.

5. In all Stud Beef Classes each Exhibitor must state on the Entry Form all particulars of each

animal entered; breed, animal’s name/number, colour, date of birth, sire, dam and name and

address of the Breeder, the Herd Book number of each animal (Exhibit and Parents) and for

females the date of the latest calving must be stated. The responsibility for accuracy of

description and pedigree and the eligibility of each animal entered rests with the Exhibitor.

6. The actual age of Stud Beef Cattle shall be the actual age as at 30th June.

7. Led exhibits must be tied in the area provided by the Show Society for such purposes. All

bulls aged 12 months and over must have nose rings or clips or be securely restrained in

such a manner as to satisfy the Chief Steward’s requirements.

8. All exhibits in the Led Stud Beef Cattle Section must be paraded for Judging. Whilst being

led in either the Judging Ring or the Grand Parade, handlers must ensure that all animals are

securely under control.

9. Prize Winners in all Classes of the Stud Beef Cattle Section must take part in the Grand

Parade if held. The Exhibitor is to provide leaders for his/her exhibits, such leaders are to be

neatly attired.

10. Prize Money and Ribbons will be awarded to First and Second Placing in Classes 1 to

16. Exhibits must be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor in whose name they are entered

and must have been for at least one month prior to the date of entries closing.

11. No Steward, Officer or Member of the Committee wearing the Society’s badge shall lead,

bring into the Ring or hold any exhibit before the Judge whilst the exhibit is being judged.

Breach of this regulation shall disqualify the exhibit from competition.

12. No drug, hormone or tranquilizer shall be administered to any animal exhibit except under the

direction of the Society’s Vertineray Surgeion who shall advise the Stewards if in his opinion

such drug, hormone or tranquilizer is likely to have any effect which would be material to its

chances of being awarded a prize and in such case the Stewards may debar the animal from

competition. A Steward may at any time direct the Society’s Veterinary Surgeon to take a

sample of blood, saliva or urine from any exhibit for testing.

13. Protests against wards must be lodged with The Secretary, in writing, within fifteen minutes

of the announcement of placing in the contested Class. The protest is to be accompanied by

a Bond of $25.00.

Section 4: STUD BEEF CATTLE

Entries in led classes will not be eligible for non-led classes and visa versa.

NEW BREEDS and BOUTIQUE BREEDS

New and/or boutique breeds are welcome to participate in their respective breed sections but are

not eligible for major awards until commercial significance can be demonstrated, i.e. number of

commercial animals through abattoirs or total numbers of the breed in the district or state.
