  • • To provide a safe haven for socially deprived

girl children and strive to bring them up in a

caring environment with all enablers, for

establishing them in the mainstream society

    with full confidence,humility and vigour”

    • To create ‘Change Agents’ for society to

accomplish the goals of “Beti Bachao,Beti

    Padhao” andolan

  • Financial support from the State Government is @ Rs. 65 per child per day This includes all fixed and running expenses including salaries. However,

Disbursal of Government funds is highly irregular and may take even more than a year.( Fund for April 13 to March 14 was received only in June 2014)

Post receiving the same, there will be a funding gap of Rs.15,000-Rs.20,000 per month (excluding one time expenses for improvement in living and educational facilities, clothing etc.)

Due to lack of funds, cleanliness and other basic infrastructure is not upto the mark.

‘Chitrangada’ continues to operate a reasonably clean and healthy homestay for the children due to kind contribution of well wishers both in cash and kind. But generally, the flow of such largesse is less than requirement and highly irregular.

Unless fund injection is ensured, the current administration may be unable to continue operation at ‘CHITRANGADA’ .

  • ICPS does not provide for girls beyond 16 years of age( i.e Std X). However, releasing an adolescent girl (with inadequate education and skill)to fend for herself may negate the effort spent on them, as the social strata, where they originally belong, is not conducive to push them to the main stream of the society with confidence which is the goal of ‘CHITRANGADA’. Most of them may fail to become ‘ CHANGE AGENT ’ as envisaged.

To complete the journey and ensure confidence among the ‘CHITRANGADA’ girls, it is aspired that it may continue to nurture these girls till std. XII, which is the first step towards acquiring worthwhile commercial skills.

To achieve this, additional fund for accommodation and expenses will have to be arranged.
