  • ANNUAL REPORT

    of caring

  • As we close out yet another year of serving our Wyandotte County community, we wanted to share the results of the great work we achieved as an organization and with our community partners. Although we are challenged by limited resources, we continue to make a broad impact with our service delivery. This report will highlight how your investment of $3,442,903 has helped us and 33 agencies deliver 51 programs in Wyandotte County. Since the implementation of our Community Impact Plan in 2013, we have worked to make sure donor dollars align with indicators and outcomes that demonstrate the difference we make in the community every year. We continue to support a diversity of programs as well as several unique partnerships whose collaborative efforts help stretch limited resources.

For an example, in our Nurturing Children and Families impact area, United Way funding supports Sunflower House and the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) providing abuse and sexual violence prevention education to over 7,000 students in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District. Internally, our YouthBuild KCK program continues to provide at-risk youth a pathway to a GED, construction training and job placement. At our summer graduation event alone, we had 16 trainees exit the program with 9 of them having earned their GED while at YouthBuild.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank donors, sponsors, our agency partners, and labor unions for your significant contributions. We could not do the work we do without your support. We would like to thank our Board of Directors who generously give their time and money to help sustain a highly efficient organization. And, to our exceedingly professional staff, thank you for your hard work and dedication to making United Way of Wyandotte County great!
