The Poveda Foundation was formed in 2009 with a mission to impact the

education of children from low income communities.

The foundation has run two after school support centres for children who are now in their first year of senior college. It also operates a nursery and kindergarten to give less privileged children the opportunity to start their education on the right footing. It is also engaged in external training of youth, teachers and corporate employees. The Povedan pedagogy followed is hinged on: Communication Creativity Differentiation

Young Adults Development Our youngsters from the After School Learning Centres, now in senior college, have been with us since 2009. They saw a 15% leap in their academic scores from grade 7 to 10. They have received support in accounts and math and science in junior college and are still part of language and personality enhancement activities and career mentoring. They have also received computer training. The focus now is to ensure that they deliver on their career and personal aspirations. The following opportunities were offered to these youth this year: Language enhancement sessions Computer class Accounts class Sports matches Career mentoring Excursions Corporate Interaction

Nursery and Kindergarten Poveda’s pre-school has developed a systematic methodology and holistic curriculum with activities that have impacted the education of young children for 5 years already. Every opportunity to learn was celebrated at the nursery this year. Attention to the learning of each child was of utmost importance. Here are some of the special activities at the nursery in addition to the regular celebrations of all national festivals:

The Poveda Foundation is a registered trust and all donations to the trust receive exemptions under section 80G. The projects Poveda Foundation run are supported solely through the donations from individuals. We are also grateful to persons who donate in kind towards our stationery needs and other expenses. The growth in the number of projects and the number of beneficiaries urges us to expand our donor base to allow us to take to completion what we start. Donations can be monthly or half yearly or yearly. These can be made in cash or by cheque or through bank transfer.
