Inspiring Story of an MIA First Grader

This is a story about a young girl who is in first grade at MIA. The story was shared by her mom after attending the Parent/Teachers conference on Friday 2/15/2013: Assalaamu'alaykum Sisters, I hope you are doing well. I just realized when I came for PTC on Friday that I needed to share a story with you about one of my daughter’s teachers at her after school care, who sometimes picked her up from MIA. He was her favorite because he taught her drawing techniques & simple "magic" tricks, while she taught him to write Arabic letters in return.

From there, he started asking questions to me about Qur'an & Islam whenever I picked her up, to the point of me giving him directions on how to arrange a visit to a local mosque to learn more about Islam. He had to move to Ohio, but we kept in contact with one another. In one of his relatively recent emails, he shared a wonderful news of him having converted to Islam. He also shared one calligraphy from Qur'anic verses he made, & one thing he mentioned was along this line "When I think of it, your daughter was my first Arabic teacher who got me introduced to Qur'an & Islam." As her mom, I know that she wouldn't be able to make such a beautiful impact in another human life without your teaching. So, thank you very much for everything! Salaam
