ABOUT CHINMAYA MOVEMENT

Located in the heart of Merrillville next to Bharatiya Temple. Now we will have place for both parts of Hinduism, Devotion and Knowledge complimenting next to each other on Merrillville Road for all of us and our future generations to come. Place has a prayer hall, classrooms, library, book store and dinning hall.

Chinmaya Mission is a worldwide spiritual organization Founded in 1951 and has more than 350 centers in India and abroad and still counting! The motto of Chinmaya Mission is “Giving maximum happiness to maximum people for maximum period of time.”

Chinmaya Mission Northwest Indiana “Omkara,” a school of Vedantic studies, was established in 2002 serving the entire community. It is an excellent opportunity to give our children our values. As Swami Chinmayananda has quoted “OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE.”
