Join the Service over Self (SOS) Club by participating in Seasons of Giving. Donations will be collected now through November 19th then donated to Open Doors Food Pantry.

November’s theme here at WHS is Gratitude. Please consider nominating a student or staff member who is an excellent role model in showing gratitude. This individual shows appreciation and thankfulness, approaches life with hope, encouragement, and joy. He or she also encourages others and is enthusiastic. Nominations can be sent in here.

Due to the recent technology issues our district had in mid-October, we have been unable to update the Westfield High School website. We are happy to announce that we now have access again. Please be patient with us as we work to update the site.

Westfield Students Drivers: Student parking permits are still available for purchase. WHS student drivers who have not yet applied for a permit must complete the online registration form and bring your valid driver’s license as well as $25 (cash or check made payable to WHS) to the Information Desk to pick up your 2020-21 parking permit sticker. Students parking on the WHS campus must display their 2020-21 Parking Permit sticker properly on their car window. Students without student parking permits will receive a warning sticker and have to pay parking violation fines.

Regardless of when students complete their work on virtual learning days, students must fill out the attendance link for EACH of their classes in Canvas by 12:30 pm. This will help us ensure teachers are able to complete attendance fully by the end of each workday. All student work, unless otherwise indicated by the teacher, is due by 8 AM the following day after it is assigned (this includes work assigned on Fridays).

SENIORS: Seniors: Be sure to check out our new College Planning site made just for the Class of 2021! Find video tutorials, links to frequently used websites and a number of other resources to help you with the admission process. Click here to access the site.

JUNIORS:

This week during CORE time, all WHS juniors are watching a 15-minute video regarding the scheduling process for their 2021-2022 classes. The link to the video can be found here. Students and families should check out our scheduling website - the handout juniors receive during CORE is also on the website here. All classes for your senior year must be submitted by December 4, 2020. **PLEASE NOTE: POWERSCHOOL IS NOT CURRENTLY ALLOWING STUDENTS TO REGISTER FOR NEXT YEAR'S CLASSES. Once this issue is resolved we post on our announcements and social media channels.

SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER: Hey Rocks! Don't forget College Rep Visits to WHS will look a lot different this year! Since there are no visitors permitted in the building at this time, all college visits will be held virtually and will be open to students to attend only on their virtual learning days. We have instructed the college representatives to ‘visit’ WHS either on Tuesday and Wednesday (to hit all Green and Gold students) or on Friday when all students are working remotely. College visits are open to students in grades 9-12. You can see a list of upcoming visits in the next two weeks on this post but to see the entire list, go to your Naviance page. Registering for a college visit also looks different this year since it will not go through Enriching Students. Students will need to register for the visit in Naviance in order to get the link to the virtual visit. Instructions for how to register for a college visit Naviance can be found here.

ATHLETICS:

Hey Rocks! Most of us won’t be able to go and cheer on our football team in person this Friday night. Lake County has changed their COVID status to RED which puts a strict limit on ticket sales for Friday's Semi-State Football game. Only parents/immediate family will be allowed to purchase tickets. However, the game will be live-streamed at https://www.ihsaatv.org/?B=208002. The cost is $14.95 - so gather around your computer or TV and let’s cheer on our Rocks from right here in Westfield!!

As a reminder it is extremely important and helpful to call the attendance line as early as possible when picking your student up for early dismissal to allow us time to send a pass to your student. The attendance line is checked every 10-15 minutes throughout the day. Due to the construction in our building, it is sometimes difficult to reach a classroom on short notice. It is also very helpful to notify our attendance office of late arrivals. You may reach the attendance line directly at 317-867-6801.
