C lass of 2015 S enator, P res ident (2013)L earning Outcomes : Delegation, P ublic S peaking, AdministrativeR eflection: As P res ident of S G A, E ven though I did not run the meetings , there were numerous times where I would have to give "reports" orupdates about other meetings I had to attend. I also would be asked by professors or departments to get s tudents ' perspective about certainissues or ideas . I would occas ionally give input when needed, but most of all I found myself being a lis tener and delineator. As a member ofS F U's S tudent G overment S enate, I learned to be the voice of my constituents . Whenever concerns or ideas were presented, they would cometo me with them, and I would intern take them to our weekly senate meeting. I learned how to present certain issue to the senate as a wholewhich helped me better develop my public speaking skills .

MemberL earning Outcomes : E vent P lanning, C ommunication, C itizenship/C ivic E ngagementR eflection: The E merging Leader program helped develop the type leadership skills which were most pertinent and unique to myself. I tookpart in a group event planning experience which came with its own challenges but in the end, was very successful. F or my final project I wantedto do something applicable to my major, so I volunteered at C onemaugh hospital to help them with their activity programs. We decorated E astereggs , baked C hris tmas cookies and played bingo with the res idents . It was quite a rewarding experience to see how happy the res idents wereto interact with people and be treated like an actual person rather than just a patient.

TreasurerL earning Outcomes : F inancial, Administrative, C ommunicationR eflection: B eing Treasurer of Habitat has helped me with my financial management skills . When I took over the Treasury pos ition there wasnot an annual fundraiser specific to Habitat nor were there many past fundraisers in general, making our budget quite low. I wanted to startsomething that was unique to Habitat, and where no other organization was doing the same fundraiser. As a result, I s tarted the Y ankee C andleF undraiser tradition which I ran and organized the entire event. This fundraiser helped me learn how to manage dead lines and be proficient inorganizing larger events . F or the past 3 years it has been very successful in funding the majority of our C ollegiate C hallenge S pring B reak Trip.

Orientation C ounselor , Orientation C ounselorL earning Outcomes : Networking, TeambuildingR eflection: B efore starting my freshman year, I remember feeling intimidated by everything. As soon as I firs t s tepped foot onto campus, thatfeeling of hes itation was immediately gone as a result of the orientation counselors ' warm welcome. After completing freshman year, I knew thatI wanted to provide that same friendly face and warm smile to the incoming freshmen. S imple and kind gestures given by upperclassmen mademy firs t year much more comfortable and enjoyable. I felt I became a part of the S aint F rancis family immediately and I wanted to provide thatsame feeling to the next class .

Habitat for Humanity - 25.0 hours

Student Government Association (SGA) - 1.0hours

Student Government Association (SGA) - 2.0hours

Learning Outcomes: Financial, Teambuilding, Citizenship/Civic Engagement Reflection: This was my first Habitat for Humanity spring break experience. We arrived to Beaufort, SC to a warm welcome where everyonewas so hospitable toward us. We did not get to work on building a house for a family, but instead we had the opportunity to work with a familywho donated most of the interior from their house. We deconstructed crown molding, toilets, cabinets, counter-tops, flooring, etc... Even thoughthis was a new experience for us, we still learned a great deal. The most I took out of this trip was the teambuilding aspect. We were there withanother group who were from Florida University and I learned to work with people who had a different way of looking at the project at hand. Inthe end, we were able to come to a successful conclusion on how to accomplish certain tasks.

Spring 2014

Spring Break Service Trip 2014 03.02.2014

Learning Outcomes: Event Planning, Financial, Citizenship/Civic Engagement Reflection: This was my second spring break experience with Habitat for Humanity. I truly enjoy working with Habitat for Humanity because Ilove seeing the gratitude on the families faces. Planning for the trip's financial costs was also a great experience for me. I was able to developbetter budgeting techniques with this being the second year as Treasurer. There were some challenges that came along with working with alarge group of people. I learned through this experience that communication is very important, especially between the workers (ourselves), theproject managers and the directors.

Student Involvement Awards 04.24.2014

Learning Outcomes: Citizenship/Civic Engagement Reflection: This year's Student Involvement Awards Ceremony was a great honor to attend. Our Executive Board of SFU's Habitat forHumanity, and myself, worked diligently this year to get Habitat in a better position to help local families around not only in our area, but acrossstate lines as well. As a result we were awarded the Outstanding Organization Award. It was a great privilege to receive this award.

Fall 2014

27th Annual SGA Leadership Conference OrgSync Break-out 10.12.2014

Learning Outcomes: Communication, Conflict Resolution Reflection: At this year's Leadership Conference our keynote speaker, Colette Carlson, emphasized the fact that we are all different people andwe all have different personalities. We, as leaders, need to recognize these differences and not become annoyed or discouraged by them but, instead, embrace them and use them to our advantage. Running groups, organizations, or even companies, requires a multitude of people tobe involved where different objectives need to be overcome. With having different personality types on your team, your project will be less onedimensional. I hope to implement what I have learned from Colette not only to my clubs and organizations I am involved with here on campusbut as well as in my future career as a physical therapist.
