TRIP RULES

All trips are open to Anne Arundel County Senior Activity Center members. Key tags must be shown when registering for a trip.

Participants must be self-sufficient to go on trips. The Center Director may require physician’s certification to approve travel.

Anyone who exhibits inappropriate behavior must be approved by the Center Director before traveling.

Registration will commence upon receipt of the required deposit. Checks are preferred.

All monies are non-refundable unless a replacement can be found from the waiting list.

Participants must furnish their own transportation to and from meeting points.

Absolutely no smoking or alcoholic beverages on the buses.

Trip participants will sign a Release of Liability Form. Trip participants will be given the cell phone number of the Trip Leader.

BUSES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANYONE. Participants must adhere to scheduled arrival and departure times. Should you become disconnected from the group while on a trip, use the cell number that was given to you to contact the trip leader.

Participants should: Avoid contaminating others on trip day by staying at home when suffering from communicable illnesses (e.g., flu, colds, etc.). Avoid causing allergic or other adverse reactions by not using strong or excessive fragrances. Be flexible. Under special circumstances be prepared to accommodate room and seatmates as assigned.

Anyone needing special accommodations must contact the senior center at 410-222-0030 or by email at pasadenacenter@aacounty.org at least 7 days in advance of an event or trip. TTT users please call via Maryland Relay 7-1-1. All materials are available in alternative formats upon request.

OFFICE HOURS & RESERVATIONS

• Trip Desk office hours are Monday through Thursday, 10a.m. to 1p.m. These days and hours are subject to change. • Seats will be reserved upon receipt of the initial deposit. Initial deposits must be made in person unless approved by the Trip Committee. Bring your key tag with you when signing up for trips. • Payments will only be accepted during office hours unless special arrangements are made in advance. • All trip participants, including companions for passengers needing assistance, must have a completed center membership form prior to the trip. • If any special accommodations are needed, such as special seat assignments on the bus, or dietary restrictions, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TRAVELER TO INFORM THE COMMITTEE AT TIME OF PAYMENT.

PAYMENTS/DEPOSITS

• It is NOT the responsibility of the Trip Desk Volunteers to notify you of final payment due dates. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR! • Payments may be made by cash, check or money order. Credit cards are not accepted. • Please write out one (1) check per trip. • Checks should be made payable to: DENA SI. • Please have Trip Desk Volunteer check that your emergency contacts (someone not going on the trip with you) are up-to-date at the time of payment. • Once a deposit has been made, final payments may be mailed to the: Pasadena Senior Center, Attention: Trip Desk, 4103 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, MD 21122. Along with payment, provide your name, Trip Name and Date of trip. • All trips include gratuity for drivers, wait staff, etc. • If a final payment is not received by the due date, the center trip committee has the authority to cancel your reservation. • Contact the Trip Committee if you are unable to make a payment by the due date, (410) 222-0030.

CANCELLATION POLICY AND REFUNDS • All monies are non-refundable unless a replacement is foundfrom the waiting list. The Senior Center must pay the Buscompany and venue in advance for the trip.• Money will be refunded on a case by case basis.• Trips may be cancelled for lack of sufficient interest, by thevenue or by the bus company. Refunds will be made promptly.• Trip insurance is not provided, but is highly recommended fortravelers.

DEPARTURE PLACE / PARKING •Please arrive at least twenty minutes before departure time.• It is your responsibility to be on time for the scheduleddepartures. THE BUS WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANYONE.• Unless otherwise noted, departures and arrivals will be fromthe front entrance of Two Rivers Restaurant in the Lake ShoreShopping Plaza. Park in the restaurant’s parking lot.• Overnight trips leave and return from Lauer's Edwin RaynorBoulevard parking lot.• Return times may change depending upon traffic. Please eatsomething for breakfast before a trip and bring water and asnack for the return trip.

WAITING LIST • When a trip is full, your name and phone number will be puton a waiting list. The waiting list is on a first-come, first-servedbasis.•If you are called from the waiting list, you will be required topay in full by check, cash or money order in person or mailyour payment with approval of Trip Desk Chairperson.

Dorchester Seafood & Wine Tour

We take our name from a narrow chain of three islands in south Dorchester County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Once the primary seafood processing hub on the Chesapeake Bay, Hoopers Island remains a working watermen’s community surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and Honga River. This tour includes a visit to the Madhouse Oysters, Oyster Aquaculture Facility, followed by a seafood “buffet-style” meal at Old Salty’s Restaurant & Gift Shop. Then a visit to Layton’s Chance Vineyard & Winery for tour and wine tasting followed up by a visit to Kool-Ice & Seafood in Cambridge, MD.

Old Salty’s is the community’s only restaurant, housed in the former high school. But not only locals come here. This is a destination restaurant that draws people from far and wide for their delectable crab cakes, soft shell crabs, and many other seafood dishes.
