“ROCKET INVITATIONAL” ANNA HIGH SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY INVITATIONAL DATE: Saturday, October 9th, 2010 RACE SCHEDULE: • Elementary 1/2 Mile for grades K-3 9:15 AM • Elementary Mile for grades 4-6 9:30 AM • High School Girls 10:00 AM • Junior High Girls 10:40 AM • High School Boys 11:10 AM • Junior High Boys 11:50 AM • Awards (at track) 12:30 PM LOCATION: Anna is 7 miles north of Sidney, Ohio and 24 miles south of Lima, Ohio. Anna is reached by exiting Interstate 75 at Exit 99 and proceeding west on State Route 119 approximately one mile. Turn right at the first stoplight. The course is located at the Anna Elementary School. Anna Elementary is located just north of the village of Anna on County Road 25A. Use the elementary parking lot. The starting lines are on the north west side of the elementary building. ENTRIES: Entries are to be submitted through Baums Page Online Entry system by Tuesday, October 5th, 9:00 PM.. ENTRY FEE: $100.00 per school AWARDS: • Championship and Runner-up trophies for the top four boy and girl teams, both junior high and high school. • Trophy to the top two schools with the best-combined finish (average place) of boys and girls teams. Two high schools and two junior high school. There will be a series of tiebreakers to determine winner, if necessary. • Medals to the top fifteen individuals in all races. Place ribbons to 16 through 50. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS Athletes must use ¼ INCH SPIKES OR SMALLER - Since we will be finishing on Anna’s all-weather track, athletes will be required to use ¼ spikes or smaller. We will have an inspector at the starting line checking spikes. Any runner not complying will be asked to change shoes or will not be allowed to run. We will not hold the start of the race for any shoe changes.

ELEMENTARY FUN RUN: There will be an elementary 1/2 mile run for grades K-3 and an elementary mile run for grades 4-6. The entry fee is $1.00 per contestant. A waiver form must be signed by a parent or guardian and turned in the day of the run. The top two contestants in both girls and boys will receive medals. Place ribbons will be awarded for 2-10 for both girls and boys. All others finishers will receive participation ribbons.
RESULTS: Results will be posted on the north wall of the press box, at the bottom of the stairs. We will not be giving out individual copies to the coaches. You can get complete results at both www.baumspage.com and www.runanna.com..

The 5K course is made up of two large loops and a final spur to the finishline on the track. From the start, turn right and go around the cornfield.Follow the course back to the starting line, where you will repeat thesame loop and second time. After you reach the start for the second time,you will follow the fence along the starting line and run the spur to thefinish line on the track.

The 3200 meter course is made up of one large loop and a spur to the finishline on the track. From the start, turn right and go around the cornfield. Thejunior high course will have a loop that spurs into the start area and thenreturns to the larger outer loop, north of the starting line. From there, you willfinish the outer loop. When you reach the start are, you will follow the fencealong the starting line and run the spur to the finish line on the track.
