Jogjakarta)

community investigator – US$ 2 Million

2. Completing the community logging prototype, with :

a. Build the the rest 1,700 ha in state forest with KHJL who

already get permit for 65 years management – US$ 2

Million

b. Build Finishing Industry with KWLM in Jogjakarta – US $ 1,5

Million

c. Expand community logging in private land in Lampung –

US$ 1 Million

3. Continuing community logging process in 5 site, who already have

permit from government, in costumary land in Papua – US$ 5

Million

4. Continuing Integrated Low carbon growth industry with build

renewable energy from waste of wood in Konawe Selatan ,

Jogjakarta, and Lampung – US$ 6 million

Lessons Learned:

1. Doing business with community may be a better way to

engage community, develop its capacity, and maintain

sustainability.

2. Replication can be spread to other areas related to

natural resource extraction such as fishing and coral

protection.

3. Social innovation will be best achieved by involving

pertinent stakeholders from the outset.

4. Sometimes an NGO must transform itself to a social

enterprise to better achieve its missions.
