PAGNINILAY
Ni: Msgr. Nestor Cerbo
IKA-6 LINGGO NG PASKO NG MULING PAGKABUHAY - K
(Gawa 15:1-2, 22-29; Pahayag 21:
10-14; 22-23; Jn 14:23-29)
KAYA MALIWANAG
NA AALIS ANG PANGINOONG HESUS PATUNGO SA AMA SA LANGIT
SUBALIT HINDI NIYA TAYO PABABAYAAN BAGKUS MAGPAPATULOY SIYA SA
PAGTULONG SA ATIN.
SANA SA ATING PAG-ALIS, ANG ATIN INIWANAN AY HUWAG NATING
PABABAYAAN BAGKUS PATULOY NATING TULUNGAN.

Day Care Center ng Barangay Isabelita. Siya po ay tinanong namin
tungkol sa kanyang buhay. Siya po ay si Sem. Aldwin Gerolao, taga-Sta.
Ana, Manila.
ang panalangin for adoration and contrition. Bawat isa ng bahaging yaon
ako ang pumili kung sino ang magdarasal. Pagkatapos, si Sem. Aldwin
matatanggap.
– BRO. NANING DELA PEÑA

The Anticipated Sunday Mass at Little Baguio Terraces on Saturday, April
23, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. was presided by Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, the Parish
Priest of St. John the Baptist Parish (SJBP).
Seminarian Aldwin Ivan Gerolao served during the Anticipated Mass.
Seminarian Gerolao is from San Carlos Seminary. He is currently having his
Summer Apostolate in SJBP which has brought them to the different Basic
Ecclesial Communities in the Parish and other communities, like the Little
Baguio Terraces residents. He is having his Summer Apostolate in SJBP
together with Seminarian Raymart De Guzman.
Since Aaron Estrada, the SJBP Organist, can longer accompany the
congregation during the Anticipated Mass, the Little Baguio Terraces
Group was urged to look for music gifted residents who can play the
organ during the mass, who can form the choir to lead the faithful in
singing, and who can play other music instruments to complement the
organ music.

The Ministry of Lectors & Commentators (MLC) held their monthly meeting
last April 24, 2016 at the St. Joseph Chapel. This is the first meeting of the
ministry under the new set of officers as follows:
President: Tricci Alonzo
Vice-President: Noel Evangelista
Secretary: Mary Justine Lomboy
Asst. Secretary: Karen Kay Lumanog
Treasurer: Bebat Nabong
Asst. Treasurer: Nimfa Yee
Auditor: Nancy Insigne
Fr. Herbert Camacho, Spiritual Director of MLC was also present to
welcome the new officers.
As practiced, the group had its bible sharing first prior the meeting proper.
Sis. Tricci delivered her sharing in line with the theme for the 5th Sunday of
Easter: “Love one another as I have loved you.” As she said, she can‟t
control her tears everytime she recalls how she put her life into order since
the day she decided to become a lector. She expressed how excited she
is everytime she comes to the lectern to proclaim God‟s word, and how
she wishes that everyone in the ministry will feel the same excitement as
hers.
After the bible-sharing, the ministry welcomed its returning members, Ma.
Pebeth Ranin (BEC St. Joseph) and Agatha Cuaresma (BEC Rivera), who
were on-leave for a time due to residence and work complications,
respectively.
The ministry is looking forward to their new set of uniform which will be
delivered this first week of May, as well as the Speech Training with Ms.
Emma Entao on May 21, 2016. Fr. Herbert assisted in arranging the training
with Ms Emma Entao, who is an official trainer for Lectors & Commentators
of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission.
The meeting ended with a merienda sponsored by Bro. Eddie Soguilon,
who celebrated his birthday last April 8, 2016.
The recruitment for male and female Lectors and Commentators is still
open. All interested may approach our priests or you may visit the parish

The Sunday Children‟s Mass at Saint John the Baptist Parish (SJBP) on April
24, 2016 was celebrated by Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, SJBP Parish Priest.
After Prayer after Communion, Msgr. Cerbo already announced the Top 3
in Attendance for the Month of March 2016 including February 28, 2016
and others ranking from 4th down to 12th. This Attendance includes the
following Sundays: February 28, March 6, March 10, March 17, and March
24.

Sunday Children‟s Masses for the said period.
Top 2 is BEC Balong Bato with 90 total number of children in attendance.
Top 3 is BEC Tibagan with 80 total number of children in attendance.
Other rankings are:

attendance.
Rank 6 is BEC Rivera with 47 total number of children in attendance.

The Evaluation Meeting for Sunday Children‟s Mass on April 24, 2016, after
the food distribution to the children centered on the change of schedule
of Sunday Children‟s Mass and the Rewards for top 3 BEC with Best in
Children Attendance and Consolation Rewards for BEC which failed to be
in the top 3.
For the change of schedule of Sunday Children‟s Mass at Saint John the
Baptist Parish, it was suggested to move it from 3:00 P.M. to 9:30 A.M. There
was this move to change the schedule because 3:00 P.M. is too hot for the
children to come to the Parish Church.
If approved, it would start on the second Sunday of May, May 8, 2016 with
the announcement to be done on first Sunday of May, May 1, 2016. There
was however some hesitation for this suggestion because big events in the
parish are usually celebrated at 9:30 A.M. Mass.
It was agreed that aside from the Rewards for top 3 BEC with Best in
Children‟s Attendance, there will also be Consolation Rewards for BEC
which failed to be in the top 3.

Noong Abril 24, 2016, sa ganap na ika-4:00 ng hapon, nagpulong ang
Core Group ng BEC Rivera sa tahanan ni Sis. Weng Serrano.
tinalakay noong BSL Meeting. Kabilang dito ang paghahanda para sa
taunang Dalaw ni San Juan, Karakol, Libreng Binyag, May Flower
Devotion, at Parish Night.
parokyano ng Our Lady of Fatima Chapel sa BEC Rivera,
– IMAH

This is the 3rd week that the Fiesta Committee, chaired by Sis. Bebat
Nabong has been meeting, which took place on Tuesday, April 26, 2016,
at the Parish Office Meeting Room. Also present in the meeting were Msgr.
Nestor Cerbo and Fr. Herbert Camacho, who act as the Fiesta Committee
advisers.
During the meeting, the group recalled the various working committees
and clarified each one‟s assignments. Prior the April 26 meeting, Msgr.
Nestor also met separately with the BSLs and the Committee on Fund
Raising to discuss their respective concerns. The separate meeting with
the concerned committees helped in maximizing each person‟s time and
made sure that details are properly addresed by individuals in charge.
The summarized discussions were presented to the Fiesta Committee for
their consensus.
The theme of our fiesta this year is: 3 TAON TUNGO SA 125 HUBILEYO NG
SJBP SA 2019. SA UNANG TAON: PAGPAPADAMA NG AWA.
As it is, our parish is preparing for our 125th Jubilee Anniversary on 2019,
and we shall kick it off this coming Fiesta. And since we are celebrating
the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy this year, so we are aligning our
celebrations to the different corporal and spiritual acts of mercy.
Our special project this year is to be able to acquire CARILLON BELLS AND
CLOCKS for our Parish Church‟s Bell Tower. This is to further develop our
church befitting its being a heritage structure going 125 years in 2019. One
way to raise funds for this cause is through mass sponsorships during our
Fiesta Novena Masses. Assigned parish volunteers will be stationed at the
parish entrance starting this Saturday, April 30 to distribute mass
sponsorship forms and accept donations.
On another note, the DALAW NI SAN JUAN, which we started in 2015 will
go on again this year. As we remember, during the 9-day novena, the
century-old image of St. John the Baptist visits the different BECs for 9 days
and stays there overnight. In the light of our theme this year,
“Pagpapadama ng Awa,” and by the virtue of our Patron Saint, we shall
have free Baptism in the BECs visited by San Juan Bautista each day.
Likewise, we shall also have free Kumpisalang Bayan, Kasalang Bayang,
and Healing Mass during the course of our 9-day novena. The full details
shall be announced once everything has been finalized.
It is the Fiesta Committee‟s aim that all of us may have a meaningful
celebration of our Fiesta this 2016. We look forward to your utmost support
and full participation in all the forthcoming activities.

St. John the Baptist‟s statue was enshrined at Sis. Flor Sta. Maria‟s home on
Wednesday, April 27, 2016, after the 7:00 A.M. at Saint John the Baptist
Parish (SJBP) Church. The enshrinement was officiated by Msgr. Nestor C.
Cerbo, SJBP Parish Priest.
The enshrinement was attended by Sis. Flor‟s fellow members and officers
of the Catholic Women‟s League, SJBP Unit, members and officers of
Apostleship of Prayer, friends and acquaintance.
For Sis. Flor, the occasion is not only her way of promoting the devotion to
our Parish Patron, St. John the Baptist but also her way of enhancing
communion with fellow parishioners of SJBP.

Flor Casupanan, Bro. Jobert
Ochoa, at Bro. Gilbert Labradores.

the venue for the celebration of the Street Mass.
Mrs. Lydia Olano however is presently residing in the United States where
they migrated sometime ago. Even if they are not around, they are always
happy to offer their place as venue of celebrating the Mass.
After the Street Mass, merienda was served through the generosity of
Councilor Boyet Aquino and Kagawad Sarah Navidad. Bro. Rene Reyes,
the BEC Servant Leader of Pedro Cruz, was the Over-All In-Charge of the

The Fiesta Committee on Publications met with Msgr. Nestor Cerbo on April
28, 2016 to discuss about the annual Fiesta Souvenir Program. The
meeting, which was held at the Parish Priest‟s Office from 7:00pm to
8:30pm, was attended by Cionnie Sevilla, Angel Suhada, and Imah
Maneja. Sis Bebat Nabong, who is also part of the committee, was not
able to attend due to prior commitment.
The main agenda was to determine which articles to include in the Fiesta
Souvenir Program. The intention is to focus on this year‟s Fiesta Theme:
“Pagpapadama ng Awa.”
Despite the seemingly tight timeline to complete the Fiesta Souvenir
Program, the Publications Committee trusts that God‟s mercy will shine on
them as they continue to contribute their time and talent in this
evangelical endeavor.

Chapel Bell Tower‟s Additional Level. Present during the meeting were: Sis.
Celeste Moreno, BEC Salapan Servant Leader; Sis. Myrna de Jesus and

the purpose of allowing the bells to project its peels farther compared to
when the bells are inside the bell tower with not much opening. With this
project, more people will be able to hear the summons of the Lord to
come to his house to worship him as a community.
We are grateful to the initial donation of Ms. Divina Abella, sister of Sis.
Myrna de Jesus, in the amount of Five Hundred US Dollars. The money
came from the friend of Ms. Divina Abella, namely, Aiko Buczek who was
married to Edward Buczek, both are Americans.
Before Aiko Buczek died she set aside an amount of Five Hundred US
Dollars for Ms. Divina Abella. Ms. Abella, in turn, donated it to Salapan
Chapel for the additional topmost open level of its Bell Tower.

The BEC Batis 9th day Novena Mass on Friday, April 29, 2016, at 6:00 P.M.
at the Dee Residence was celebrated by Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, SJBP
Parish Priest.
With Jesus talking about the greatest love in the Gospel shown by a man
who is ready to lay down his life for his friend, Msgr. Cerbo challenged the
novena mass goers to be ready to show this kind of love. He gave a
concrete example of Fr. Maximilian Kolbe who laid his life to take the
place of a father of a family who was condemned to die.
After the Prayer after Communion, Bro. Jobert Ochoa, BEC Batis Servant
Leader, thanked every one. After the mass, the Dee Family offered
packed dinner to all those who joined the novena mass.
