Anesthesia: Anesthesiologist/Pediatric Anesthesiologist/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Description The administration of anesthesia is a critical aspect of performing safe surgery – without it, none of our work would be possible. Our Anesthesia providers deliver the highest level of care to a broad age range of patients from infancy to adulthood in varied environment across the globe. They work in harmony with the surgical and nursing teams delivering anesthetic care and pain management. *CRNAs are limited to certain countries and may be credentialed as Recovery Room Nurses. Pediatric Anesthesiologists may qualify as Pediatric Intensivists/Recovery Room Physicians (see Pediatric Intensivist specialty for details). Qualifications In order to be eligible as an anesthesia volunteer with Operation Smile, you must fulfill the following criteria: Currently licensed and in good standing. Graduate of specialty training in anesthesia and achieved highest level of certification available. Certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent course. Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent course is recommended. Currently caring for pediatric patients. Application documents needed: Completed Anesthesia application online, including three references. Copy of resume/curriculum vitae detailing current experience. Copies of diploma and degrees. Documentation of Anesthesia specialty training. Copy of current license/registration in field. Copy of Board Certification (as applicable by country). Current copy of PALS certification (required). Current copy of ACLS certification (recommended).
