Project status and achievements after 3 months
Active knowledge transfer:
Visited best performing relevant EBIT/S groups at MPIK, BNL, MSU/NSCL.
Preliminary agreement on collaborative construction of the HEC2 gun with BNL, getting approval at CERN. If approved and funded the gun can be built and tested within the 2 years WP*.
HIE-EBIS wide board workshop** with attendance of 28 on 16-17.10 to discuss the options and get feedback from CERN and external experts
* Goes beyond WP **CATHI sponsored

Conclusion
Keeping up with the plan
Trainings: according to the CDP (COMSOL taken, CAS – registered Oct, French - registered Oct)
Milestones: M41 first one to be delivered by mid October (HIE-EBIS WS)
Deliverables: according to the plan
Meetings (CERN TE-MSC, TE-VSC, MPIK), secondments (BNL, MSU/NSCL) : according to the CDP.
Conferences: EMIS 2012 registered according to the CDP.
Networking/collaboration: if approved the HEC2 collaboration with BNL profits both the ER3 and the HIE-EBIS project by more effective use of resources, saving time, working with and learning from the best specialists using the unique facility.
