Genre CharacteristicsJustin Timberlake’s music is usually associated with the genre R&B and POP. The setting of the song is very bright and positive and it is performance based which is common in POP videos. This will attract a mass audience because POP music is very well known across the world and will attract a younger audience. This song targets a young audience because the conventions of the video. It can also attract a older audience because of the message of the song.

Promote/Sell artist• This is a performance based song, in my opinion this is to show off

Justin’s talent as a singer and dancer. The point of this is to attract a more vibrant audience young audience (younger audience – energetic). The video also includes slight voyeuristic looks and movements to the audience (gestures pulling them in closer) almost seducing them.

relationship between artist and audience.• Raising glasses and looks to audience. Connotes that the audience should join him in celebration.

• These looks in the camera is done to establish a strong relationship between Justin and his fans. When Justin grabs the camera and smiles it strengthens the relationship between him and his fan. Also when he looks back at the camera when he is on the stage it is like he wants the consumer to go on a journey with him.
