Programme

The generosity of our guild is awesome!!

Thanks to all who donated to Victoria's Quilts

Canada. Please bring in any completed

sewing for VQ and we will see that it gets to

them.

The program for November is all about

Canadian Feed Bags with our speaker Nina

Stahlschmidt. She will explain the history of

these bags and influences they had on peo-

ple's lives for over 100 years in Canada.

Nina's quilts were displayed at Morningstar Mill

(near Brock University) during Quilt Canada

2014. "The cheerfulness and downright

chipperness of the feedbag quilts made by

Nina S. won me over". (Joanna Mack)

We are hoping these quilts and the story of

feed bags will keep you cheerful in a some-

times gloomy November.

* NOTE: if you have any feed sack items,

please bring them to the meeting.

Plans for the future include:

December 21 Guild Social

January 18 Member Showcase- Karen E. and

Leslie D.

We appreciate feedback on speakers, so if you

have suggestions/comments, please give us

an email at [email protected]/ or

[email protected]. If you have heard

of a great speaker, please send us their

contact information as we plan for next year.

Kathy Conway & Jane Couper

Membership Although the cold and dreary November weather may be upon us, it will be warm and cheery at our monthly guild meeting. We hope to see all members out enjoying everything the Guild has to offer. Please remember to place a tick mark next to your name on the attendance list as you come through the doors. This helps us if we need to evacuate the hall in a hurry. Tickets for our quilt raffle are still available and can be purchased from Diane Childerley who has volunteered to help out at the membership table again this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone during our special night out. Cathy Pinelli AQG Membership Chairperson 905 389-3607 [email protected]

Comfort Quilts November

Hello Quilters!

Good news, we have 33 quilts on hand, and several are out there being quilted and bound

at this writing. If you could still aim for the November meeting to bring back your Comfort

Quilt projects that would be ideal. I know the focus of the December meeting will be social,

but we will be available to take quilts and tops and give out kits at the December meeting

to anyone who wants them. After Christmas, when the company has all gone home and it

is cold and dark out you may want a project to work on to keep away the January blahs!

We are here for you!

Thanks to all the generous people who donated fabric (Cherished Pieces, Karen

Romanowski, Heidi Koehn, Gisela Ball) and those who donate their time and talent to

make this program the success it is for our Guild and our community.

Looking forward to seeing you at the November meeting,

Colleen,Teresa, Lynda and Karen

help with their block of the month and have signed up. We will need at least 5.

PLEASE mark these dates on your calendars so you will not be disappointed and miss

out!!!

November 18th and 19th,

January 20th and 21st, March 3rd and 4th

April 21st and 22nd.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the November meeting.
