    Who is The Self

    Who is Not the Self

Is presented as a work of love to The Self in all beings. We make no claim to

its truthfulness or otherwise. Let the reader judge for himself. Its origin is

that it was written and compiled over 30 years by sri Ananta-bindu and is the

record and culmination of the sadhana and truth arrived at after 35 years of

meditation and study upon The Absolute Self; May He always guide those who

seek Him with a sincere heart.

    I-Am-Ness

    Sadhu: Do you have children?

bindu: Oh, i only have one child.

Sadhu: How did you, and how “do” you educate her in regard to this knowledge?

bindu: Since she was very young, i have always kept her in touch with her inner-

self. Reminding her from time to time not to disindentify with, or lose touch with

the Conscious-space in which thoughts arise. It has to be very gradual. It has to do

be done in such a way as to not cause confusion when a child interacts with the

rest of the world through school etc. You have to do it very delicately.

Sadhu: And the conscious space is *all* space? The absolute = the great space?

bindu: Yes, it is “All-space” she has learnt a great deal about the Absolute.

Sadhu: But how do you see others, is there a need to liberate for want of a better

word or is *everything* simply accepted as being naturally the way it *should* be?

bindu: What do you mean by liberate?

Sadhu: The Buddhists speak of liberating a person and awakening them to their

    true self or true knowledge.

bindu: Oh, ok. Everyone is an essential part of the Omnipresent Omniscience; they

exist knowing what they know at their level. Yet even as they are what they are,

and are worthy of acceptance as what they are; they can also evolve in the context

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    7/198

of the consciousness, to wherever they wish. i do not subscribe to a savior idea or

complex, however if someone asks me i will tell them the truth. Sometimes in

certain circumstances, i will also lead their mind outside the physical Cosmos and

show them a glimpse; but not very often. You see: “The whole Cosmos is One

Harmonious Whole”, all we have to do is understand how to see the harmony.

Sadhu: God looks at *Himself* through every reflected self, who in their infinitude

    comprise the unity.

bindu: Yes exactly. Yet each part is also capable of evolving into direct union.

    Sadhu:

When we as human beings *look* The Self is really seeing itself.

bindu: Yes, we always read in ancient books how enlightenment is possible. The

“New-Age” way of looking at it is very misleading.

Sadhu: *Anything* that is or can be perceived IS the One Self?

    bindu: Yes precisely.

Sadhu: But when you look at say a bird in flight, or thunder in the sky, do you see

it as yourself or the whole cosmos without separation?

bindu: Is what you are saying: - “A man looks up and sees the sky, then says to

himself; “This is myself.” Or are you saying: “Does the Absolute look out of my eyes

and say ah! This is occurring in me?” It is the second case not the first. Inwardly

there is no location of any self. The conscious depth extends inward in an infinite

way both inward and outward in the context of the Jiva. Yet in reality there is

neither inward nor outward in the context of The Infinite.

Sadhu: And it simply occurs naturally without any Will on the part of the

    Conscious Absolute?

bindu: Yes. For example if we were to go into the heart of the atomic structure of a

given body, we would not find the end of the space between the atoms. It is not

disconnected from The Absolute. The Conscious Absolute Being cognates from that

space “AS THAT space” He has no form as such; He is called the Para-Brahman.

Another example maybe; if we were to open the subconscious mind we would find it

is limitless and impersonal; We would find that “It IS The Absolute”, but in the case

of the enlightened there is no subconscious it is all conscious there is no barrier.

Sadhu: All, as in all phenomenal things?

bindu: Yes, as well as all of the Infinite space in which the cosmos appears (that

space within which the phenomenal appears) that Conscious Self is truly infinite.

Sadhu: What about the terminology of the Indians and western traditions, “The

Akasha”, is this the experiential field of “The - I AM”?

bindu: Yes it is. It is a hierarchy of more and more subtle vibration. Until such time

as the very matter of which the WHOLE cosmos is composed is seen, as nothing

more than an imaginary display, in the Conscious Absolute. The display is the

consciousness. However this does not mean that there is actually a hierarchy at

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    9/198

all. It is just a way of speaking about it that makes it easier to grasp as one level

merges into the next. Without there actually being a demarcation point which could

be said to be the point at which this becomes that. There are no rungs on the

ladder if you like. When going inward, it is an evanescence of being. When going

outward it is effervescence instead, which becomes evanescence eventually?

The Conscious Absolute is Conscious of that consciousness. This very important

distinction is missing in the translations from Chit to consciousness and from

Chitta to MIND. In both cases, the translation is not quite right.

Sadhu: Ah ha!: The Akasha IS consciousness; it is different states of vibration

descending to finally reach physical manifestation.

bindu: Yes exactly. Yet it is always, “The Absolute Conscious” that is conscious of

each and every stage as well as all at once.

Sadhu: What about the four elements, nodal points within the Akasha? Is The

Absolute “IS” (for lack of a better description) conscious or enfolded into all levels

    completely?

bindu: Yes, The Absolute is Conscious or enfolded into all levels completely.

However I am not concerned with very many details dear, as splitting hairs once we

understand the truth, is like interfering with perfection. Once we know we should

leave it alone and accept it. Splitting hairs is only useful if we want to prove our

case or discredit someone else, i don't involve myself in that.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    10/198

Sadhu: In some way you could say that even the physical realm is the Akasha in a

certain form, it’s just that when it is spoken of, we normally speak of it manifesting

    at the highest level.

bindu: Yes, again that is exactly the correct way to look at it; or you could say that

in the same way the Astral Realm is this realm. I say it like this: How can there be

two distinct things in one Omnipresent? There cannot be, it is impossible.  In the

infinite, (if it is truly infinite) there can be nothing but Infinity. So it is

Omnipresent. In infinity it is “that very infinity” that is Omnipresent, it is infinite

    consciousness.

Sadhu: So how does separation result, it can only result from a difference in the

level of awareness when self reflects upon itself?

bindu: Reflection is the key to it yes. See the Yogicfire Website:

    http://www.upnaway.com/~bindu/yogicfire/

i have explained it as simply as possible there. It only appears to be separation but

    it is not.

Sadhu: The Self looks at ITSELF; yet when the level of awareness is dulled it

reflects, but when the realization is full it is non-reflecting and shines clear “AS

ITSELF”. The fragmentation “IS” the “I AM” looking at “Itself”!

bindu: Yes, exactly. Yet all this happens when The I-Am appears; so comes the

apparent fragmentation, which is mere reflection in The Absolute. It is like a

mirrored image of a mirrored image ad-infinitum.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    11/198

Sadhu: But the “I Am” didn't come about in Time?

bindu: No the “I-Am” did not. The “I-Am” exists and due to that, Time arose. It IS

TIME - all TIME. It is “ALL OF EXISTENCE”. It is “The Whole Cosmos”. So we can

say that “the I-amness” of The Absolute is the Cosmos; thus it is Called Atman.

Sadhu: The I AM is ALL  Phenomenon?

    bindu: Yes.

Sadhu: The I Am is everything! The Absolute perceives everything? What I don't get

is, how is the I Am related to The Absolute.

bindu: Yes, The I Am is everything. It is related to The Absolute in the context of

the fact that although there appears to be diversity there is not, since it is all ONE

    SELF.

Sadhu: What would be an analogy for time?

bindu: An analogy? How do you mean?

Sadhu: An analogy, like a flow, or like a river, or movement within space being

perceived, is there an accurate analogy for Time?

bindu: Yes, you could say so. The Absolute is utterly empty-infinite-potency (due to

being empty it is full of emptiness) but if Time arises it can only be an illusion, thus

it is emptiness. Time moves ahead, a thing has not yet arisen in the Absolute NOW.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    12/198

In that NOW there is potential, that potential is full of everything that can possibly

come into existence. The things exist only in a potential form; they are neither this

nor that - YET. It is like a floating illusion without form or attributes ... a tension as

it were; hence the atomic flux. This is what is called Sakti. That tension is stressed

in every direction such that it fills the Infinite as itself. It is the presence or

prescience of The Absolute; or simply: It is OM.

Sadhu: So what brings flowers and trees into being as phenomenon?

bindu: In The Absolute, everything that can come into being is already there, such

that the fact that His I-amness has not yet appeared. It exists as the potency or the

emptiness of the infinite. He has no need to mention that He is anything in

particular. The whole of Time comes into being right there. Of course, everything

that will or does appear in that Time comes into being with it. Along with your

flowers and trees etc., HE ALONE IS ALL. Everything is in Him, either as His

potential or as the Maya, there is no difference.

Sadhu: Naturally through evolution every possible thing happens over all time.  So

do ideas also bring about natural forms?

bindu: It arises out of His I-amness, yes. The strange thing is this: That which

arises - arises IN HIM. It does not appear outside Him, there is no outside and no

inside either; there is only Him. How can there be an outside to Infinity? To quote

doctor quantum: “all this is in here – it is not out there!”

Sadhu: Everything is The I AM then?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    13/198

bindu: Yes exactly. If a person only realizes this, he will be enlightened

immediately.  When a person says, “I am”... he thinks it is what he thinks he is at

that time; he thinks he is saying it. That is not true at all. It is the Absolute saying

it. He then obeys His command and becomes the limited consciousness. The

Absolute recognizes that He is all and He says, “I am a golfer”, “a man”, “a woman”,

“a dog” and so on; and so it “IS”. The part is as great as the whole.

So He says I am Jack, He says I am bindu. He obeys Himself, and then limits

Himself; so then the key to realization is to understand this.

    Who speaks?

    Who is conscious of consciousness?

    Who sees?

    Who thinks these thoughts?

    Who says I?

He says it, and all the Cosmos comes. Or alternately when He says “I am Jack “

He becomes Jack and lives in Jack’s universe as Jack. Yet even while he is saying

“Jack”, He is also saying: I am bindu in bindu; He is saying: “I Am such and such

in every being; but the reflection in the consciousness called Jiva, springs up the

moment He speaks because His word is creative and the consciousness is like a

mirror; it is then mistaken for the Real-Self; The limited-self is mistaken for the

    Great Lord.

The Jiva is a copy of a copy; yes, as we know copies of copies become more and

more unlike the original; in this way the variety of beings springs up in Him and

from Him due to the Nature of His own conscious-beingness.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    14/198

    Sadhu: But nobody says I?

bindu: Ah! That is correct. He must come to say I am the Absolute and understand

what He means when He says it. Then He will find the Infinite Absolute which is

Himself. So the nobody, is The Infinite Absolute which cannot be found because it

has no limit and therefore no form either.

    Sadhu: But what “IS” Jack?

bindu: Jack is an idea, a reflected-speck of consciousness which is linked to

knowledge in the Omniscient. He is an idea about the Universe seen in a way that

is distorted. (i.e. Jack is an individual universe). Why is this mentioned? Because

    each and every being; no matter who or what they actually are or think they are;

sees their universe in a different way. Thus there are countless universes existing

in the same Time; the sum of these is the Omniscience. The sum of the whole is the

Omnipresent. Yet the Omnipresent is sourced in The Absolute. Such, that Jack, is

Jack, present in the universe, as himself. While in truth there is really no Jack at

    all.

Words, thoughts, very “Being-itself”; arises in The Absolute. Nothing can arise that

does not arise in The Absolute. But time is needed first. Hence nothing arises

except the illusion of something having arisen. This means that whether it arose or

not, or is or is not an illusion is irrelevant.

Sadhu: All beings, animals etc arise, but for no purpose?

bindu: No, that is not true. They are conscious of “A Knowing” at a certain level,

that knowing varies throughout all animals and within a species also. Even insects,

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    15/198

germs, virii and so on, know a universe that is unique to them.    Think of it, an

almost infinite number of universes, all known by The One Absolute. This is how

the Omniscience knows at all levels of knowing. In the Sanatan-Dharma this is said

to be The Consciousness of Sri-Krishna

Sadhu: IT knows itself as the reflections, and as a whole, and it is The Absolute

that is the silent witness in the individual human beings?

    bindu: Yes all, but not merely human beings, it is the silent witness of All Beings ”;

and as THE WHOLE also. Just because a man cannot know what an ant is

thinking (or if the ant thinks at all) is irrelevant because the ant knows ant-

knowledge; how else can Omniscience be fulfilled? This Omniscient, Omnipresence

has no real existence because it is merely knowledge or consciousness, which is the

    Omniscience of the Absolute.

His very existence makes the silent statement "I Am" Om (the om-kara- A-U-M)

arises” and knowledge comes of what He is; there comes Time. It can never be fully

expressed even by the huge multiplicity I have described. The nature of

Omniscience means it can never be totally ended, hence; time unfolds as the

Omnipresence of the consciousness and so does the Universe expand. Hence also

mathematicians will never find the final number either. Also the beings multiply...

and evolve such that the Omniscience is endless; as is the omnipresence. In itself

The Absolute has utterly transcended knowledge.

Sadhu: It is 'bound up “as itself” as an infinite endless whole, because it is all one

    whole.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    16/198

bindu: Yes, that is exactly true. Although it is not really true to say it has

transcended anything because everything came because of it, and appeared within

it. This means he is free even of the need to transcend, and beyond even

    transcendental consciousness.

Sadhu: So "The, I AM” is “ALL" no matter what, but The Absolute perceives this

    AND yet they are ONE!

bindu: Yes, that is it smack on the nose; you have hit the nail on the head. So there

is a god of form and a god without form also. The Absolute did not actually say “I

Am” the presence of the tension or potency of the Infinite Absolute (Which could be

thought to be sheer presence or prescience) is the call to the I-amness. This tension

is the omnipotence - it is the Will in the Will. It is referred to as the Sakti in the

     yoga texts.

So the one in you who says: “I am Jack” who is that?

Sadhu: The god with form is the highest possible deity encompassing and including

all lesser deities and levels of consciousness; the formless god is The Absolute?

bindu: Yes, now you have it. It is the ParamAtma. Or as the Sanatan-Dharma

teaches: it is both the form of Sri-Krishna – and is existing as the transcendental

    Sri-Krishna also.

Sadhu: So worship and prayer can be effective and can and should be practiced?

bindu: Yes, and this leads to moral or Ahimsa, as you asked in the first place.

    Sadhu: And consciousness?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    17/198

bindu: We said the consciousness is the I-amness. It is The Absolute which looks at

the consciousness, so who are you?

Sadhu: I can’t put that into words.

bindu: No of course you can’t, but “the you - who IS “ He”  can recognize yourself as

it is The Real Self. How can you describe the Infinite? I am here to tell you that you

can dissolve the mind into it, and actually remain in it – “AS” it; as your body goes

    on living.

    Sadhu: Only as Infinite.

bindu: Yes. This state of freedom-while-alive is called Jivan-mukti by the yogi’s

Sadhu: But do you really *become* it?

bindu: Oh it is not a matter of the man becoming, no, it is a matter of saying “I Am

it” and knowing that it is true. The I-Am is first beyond existence and then Time

comes after the word I. The place in which the conscious one (who is inside that

man) was before He uttered the words “I AM” was in the body. Now after He utters

the words “I Am” but before adding anything to the “I Am” that place is beyond

existence and is infinite. If you could see inside His mind you would see Infinity

itself; because it is “The Self-Himself” who says “I Am” and then He becomes it! He

sublimates his massive consciousness; it is an involute act of becoming; hence He

becomes what He says after The “I Am”.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    18/198

Sadhu: So when the physical body dies nothing really changes!!

bindu: No, it does not change there is merely another manifestation of selfhood

called Jiva until “You The Absolute” decide You want to know who You really are.

Hence you will be reborn as what you think and “Say” You are; You will obey

     yourself!

Sadhu: But what do you think of when You declare or think I Am IT, since it is still

    a thought that is witnessed?

bindu: Who thinks? What is witnessed is also the Omniscience of the Absolute, The

Mind appears as thought – previously it did not appear; “THAT” appears in The

Absolute as “THAT” which is thought. The knowledge that thought, consciousness,

Mind and the Cosmos are I-am-ness is there, but it all appears in My Self, which is

The Absolute. The body appears in My Self also; it is not Me. It is a thought that is

witnessed only up until final realization; at which time it is a thought that is Self-

Conscious (there being no division in The Absolute). Death therefore, and

realization are different only in the context of the degree to which the one dying, is

conscious of “The truth of The Absolute.” Just as the Tibetans tell us.

Sadhu: Ah, what I meant was for a realized person upon death nothing would

    change. The thought is Self-Conscious?

bindu: Upon death any person goes where and to whatever HE (who is the Absolute

masquerading as the one who is dying), thinks He is; or believes in at the time.

Because HE is the Absolute God Himself, all this being is His I-am-ness. Since He

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    19/198

said and continues to say or think; “I Am Such and Such. This does not mean that

the Jiva is actually God; it means that the Self in the Jiva is God.

    Yes, the thought is actually conscious. It shines in The Absolute with its own light;

the light source is given it by The Absolute, which is the witness.   When you say “I”

am “IT”, you have to be it to say it. To be it you have to get rid of the division

between the infinite and the finite. To do that you have to get rid of the existence of

all divisions in matter, and wave; you will need a unified field theory. To get rid of

matter you must come to understand Atomic space. I.e. Space does not change in

any way for any reason, it is interconnected everywhere.

Sadhu: It is all the same from that 'point of view'?

bindu: Yes, thus the whole is in the Infinite. If it is in the Infinite there are no

    objects at all

there is only an Infinite sea of seething potency. Just as Sri Krishna has said:

    “Everything exists in my potency”.

    Sadhu: No objects?

bindu: No, the solid boundaries of objective cognition are gone, because there is no

disconnection between the exterior atoms and the interiors atoms; it is all one

    matter and one Space.

Sadhu: There is only I, no That?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    20/198

bindu: Yes, exactly, one matter and one space, no objects. Now then matter is light,

    science tells us that.

Sadhu: Yet The Absolute does not have a sense  of I-ness or I AM-ness or Selfhood.

bindu: No, it does not. So science tells us everything is light. The fantastic thing is

that light is conscious. There is nothing but light which is enlightenment .

Sadhu: You are not just referring to physical light are you?

bindu: Yes, not just physical light. However physical light appears in it like red or

yellow appears within the color spectrum. No matter how good the instrument is, it

cannot report all the spectrum of the light in its own Self. Again, this is covered at

    the Yogifire Web Site.

    Sadhu: Light = consciousness?

bindu: YES. So when we find the inner-light we dive into it and disappear totally.

     The universe also disappears!

Sadhu: The Akasha is the highest aspect of this light.

bindu: Yes, that is why it is called enlightenment.

    Sadhu: And then what?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    21/198

bindu: It is still one step removed from The Absolute realization. There is an

inexpressible unnamable, unspeakable Beingness. Words cannot say it, but THAT

looks out of everywhere, every when and every one. It does not continue, it is seen,

to be eternal, it cannot have started in order to continue. (After all it is infinite).

Sadhu: It is everywhere, in every when and every One and there is nothing outside

of it. There is all that is, has been or will be. “There is Nothing ELSE”. Here then is

ALL Time. all-all. There is no OTHER!

bindu: Then a great joy arises in the being because of this. That joy is like the joy of

sex a thousand times magnified. It zings in the whole body, like sherbet. There is a

going or coming that is endless ... there is nowhere to arrive or get. It is prescience.

Present everywhere and when, and also beyond - words stop. Consciousness ends.

There is The Conscious Absolute - or alternately the conscious One “IS” - the I-am-

    ness is the consciousness.

Sadhu: But can something perceive consciousness itself?

bindu: Yes, in the case of a normal being his I-am-ness is limited to his being (what

he knows about being). So what he knows about being slots him into his level in

the hierarchy of the Omniscience. He can move upward easily by learning more,

such that no being has to remain as his I-am-ness dictates. Thus the

consciousness evolves and in partnership with it so does moral integrity, due to

self-recognition. However, up until a certain point he does not know that what he is

recognizing as himself is the consciousness.

Sadhu: The I AM ness and The Absolute are not two?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    22/198

bindu: No, they are not two.

    Sadhu: Fascinating.

bindu: Thus truly spiritual beings are highly moral. The whole Universe works in

    absolute harmony.

Sadhu: But why is this so?

    bindu: Why is what so?

Sadhu: How did it come to be designed that way?

bindu: If you want to call it a design then it is a design I guess. I prefer to say it is

the innate perfection inherent in The Absolute. Thus it is harmonious; the harmony

can only be seen from the standpoint of the Omniscience.

    Sadhu: ok.

bindu: Nothing I have told you today, can be refuted in anyway at all because it

makes utter sense. It does not rely on anyone's opinion, in fact it stands on its own

merit it is therefore true. Even the very existence itself proves it. It is the only way

to look at it that includes and explains every aspect of existence. You will find that

almost all systems discard something or other.

Sadhu: I cannot understand though how some supposedly moral people are

    spiritual.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    23/198

bindu: They are not, they have an agenda. If a single part of the Omniscience is

discarded then the supposed philosophy goes begging. However the agenda which

they or someone else thinks they have, is not OWNED by them; it is a machination

of The Self to bring about the destruction of the ego of the person who has the

agenda, because that person will almost invariably fail if the agenda is self-serving

(egotistical). On the other hand if The Agenda is SELF SERVING The Self will assist

    Himself!

Sadhu: I read today that a certain famous swami was accused of sexual

misconduct and even in the western traditions we find racism etc. So how do you

explain that when everybody respects him enormously?

bindu: Yes, that is right. All teachers have students who are at the level the teacher

teaches - everyone evolves; I am never in the business of denigrating anyone, even

if such things as that may or may not be true; but regardless all evolve.

    Sadhu: I don't get it.

bindu: Well there is a certain famous teacher (not to mention any names) I saw a

show on him 3 days ago which exposed him as a fraud, and pedophile, yet he has

millions of followers all over the world, why? Well those who follow him are at his

level. It is like a group-ego thing, as described in the secret or renunciation in a

previous chapter. (see page 144 volume one) He is as spiritual as the head of their

group has to be. It is all knowledge at a level. Some groups are at one level, some at

others it is all Omniscience, knowing what is known in that way. It is always open-

    ended- always evolving.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    24/198

Sadhu: Once you have realized The Absolute there is nothing else to be done?

bindu: No that is right. The love arising from the realization (IN IT) feels like you

must share it, because all are yourself. For example a cell that does not work in the

body is soon discarded by the system, so we work for The Self. We could die, if we

like. Yet we won’t. We could refuse to return here to this world when we die, yet we

won’t.  Imagine if all those who realized the truth left and never returned. The

knowledge of the truth would end. This is impossible. So we return again and again

to be the link to the Absolute. So when you get to the end, you choose to live not

    die.

    Sadhu: There is a choice?

bindu: Yes, but who chooses? HE does....At that moment the God with form comes

into Being. His I-am-ness is born.

Sadhu: This happens in every experience of realizing The Absolute, no matter

which individual realizes, at that moment he is born?

bindu: Yes, that is totally correct, it is incontrovertible.

Sadhu: But why are there so many different descriptions of the enlightenment

experience, you would be familiar with the many different positions taken in sacred

    books etc.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    25/198

bindu: Yes. This is due to the fact that many speak before the final realization

which causes the remaining vasana’s1  (be sure to see the foot-note this is an

important point) to distort the perception and thus enunciation of the truth. For

example just as light shone through red cellophane is made red so do things which

are not red appear red. This in no way means that the teacher is not or has not had

the realization; it simply means that the mind must be gotten ready, or transformed

by the decent of the understanding which will gradually be brought to the

conscious notice of the via the mind having processed the stupendous connotations

of the realization. In my case it began when I was 28 I am now 45 so you could say

it took 8 years to transform the mind. Since the light, though, there have been

hundreds of deeper experiences which I won’t go into.

Sadhu: All paths lead to exactly the same goal, and the one method in common is

realizing the nature of the mind?

    bindu: Yes.

bindu: I began searching and meditating when I was 6 or 7 - I entered the light at

28 - but the final realization is recent.  I have been teaching since I was 28, but only

recently has the final realization happened.

Sadhu: I am 31.  So entering the light means realizing unitive consciousness?

1 Vasana’s: The vasana’s are commonly thought to be impurities, but this is not quite correct; they are more like

obscuring layers or modes of consciousness; which means they are nothing like impurities. Whereas to call themimpurities would mean that there are modes of the Consciousness of the Absolute, God (Siva, Krishna, Buddha,

Jehovah, Jahveh, Allah etc) that are impure due to the nature of omniscience. No God is not and can never haveany impurities in His own being which is displayed as the omnipresence; it is simply a matter of the evolution of

the apparatus (in this case the mind-body complex known as Jiva).

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    26/198

bindu: Yes it does, but at the time I did not have the background knowledge to say

that. It has taken since then to fully understand what happened that day. Now it is

    full.

Sadhu: But what consequence would any deeper experiences mean after having

realized the absolute nature. It is the end of the line so to speak.

bindu: Exactly, so as the deeper connections and connotations of the experience

came, I discarded them (thus I won’t talk of them also).

Sadhu: So to your consciousness there is really not a me or a you?

bindu: That is right. It cannot be called “MY” consciousness unless you refer to The

Absolute nor can it be called “MY” enlightenment for the same reason.

Sadhu: But you can choose to concentrate as a reflected self and maintain normal

    presence.

bindu: Yes, that is right also.

Sadhu: Yes, self realization doesn't happen to a person I guess, it happens to SELF.

Because “The YOU”, is still a phenomenon within The Absolute. You still live. And

the “ME” and the “YOU” are both phenomenal within The Absolute; while the

Conscious One is not IN this World, rather the world/Cosmos is in it!

bindu: Yes. Again, See the yogic fire URL (Note for the editor; we will integrate some

of the relevant passages from the yogic fire website at a later time). I have tried to

strip it down to its bare essentials, so that it is easy to understand. There are also

artist’s renditions of some of the experiences.

Sadhu: I notice that you also had a lot of rare or hard to find documents on the

Ananta Yoga site as well as Kashmir Saivism material, stuff by Shankara etc. Can

     you read Sanskrit?

bindu: No i cant but i have studied a great number of translations by Paul Muller

Ortega (which are often very good)

Sadhu: Ah, I know of the Triadic heart of Siva.

bindu: I have studied all of the books at the site for many years; reading them

again and again over the years as my own realization developed. This gives a

continually deepening insight into what these ancient geniuses wrote.

Sadhu: Why those particular books, do you believe them to be the most accurate,

    beautiful profound?

bindu: They are the most accurate yes; but I have also studied a huge amount of

philosophy from all over the planet from all ages and Religions and found the

    unifying thread.

    Sadhu: Which is what?

bindu: Omniscience-Omnipresence and Love which is light/consciousness and I-

    Am-ness.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    28/198

Sadhu: What about western traditions such as the quabbalah and so forth?

bindu: Well funnily enough the very day that I went into the light I was reading

quabbalah, but I was also reading Siva Sutra the night before. There is truth in all

the writings as they exist in the I-am-ness. All we must understand is that no

written word is the final word. No knowledge is the actual knowledge of The

Absolute. All knowledge as a whole is the Omniscience. Knowledge is ignorance –

    Love is Wisdom.

Sadhu: The Indian material is very clear, as is the Tibetan material, I read and have

yet to finish the flight of The Flight of Garuda which is beautiful.

    bindu: Ah! Yes it is.

Sadhu: How is knowledge and possible knowledge encoded / existent?

bindu: How is it encoded? Do you mean why is an ant - an ant and so on? How

does knowledge exist? It is refracted light only because knowledge is about this and

that.  Thus it is not actual knowledge. It is not first hand.

Sadhu: Thoughts are things, composed of mental substance? Ideas are things,

archetypes? For example, a triangle is an archetypal shape that is manifest in

    many forms.

bindu: Yes, yes, but it has tangents. Archetypes are like metaphors for qualities,

dimensions are created in MIND. They are triangulated from the position of the

individual I-am-ness but let’s leave that for now. Read Paul Brunton for the answer

    to this.  http://www.paulbrunton.org/pb.html.

    Sadhu:

What about the need for a guru? I have never been a believer, but the Tibetans put

great emphasis on it as do some of the Indians.

bindu: The need for a guru is paramount yes; but who or what the guru is, is even

more important. The guru is not that man. One’s guru should be the highest

representation one can accept of The Absolute.

Sadhu: “A personal” devotion to a representation of God?

bindu: Yes, for example my guru is the Whole Cosmos. This is called the Sad-Guru,

to me that is Krishna. To another the guru might be Muktananda or Nityananda or

    Sivananda and so on.

Sadhu: Is the worship of a personal god the same as Guru worship? Surely this

implies that it must also be transcended or surrendered to The Absolute. (Not that I

have ever been one to follow a guru).

bindu: Yes, that is correct. Personal devotion to that highest representation

whether it be a being or the ALL, is the way. If you want a personal physical guru

then you should go find one. But to realize the truth; by yoga we often realize that

the real nature of the one who has realized the truth (The Yogic Guru) is The

Absolute. So we must let go of his form also, but after that, since he has led us to

the Truth; should we not recognize his greatness? Just as a great and famous

    person is recognized and revered?

The real guru is your own inner speaker of course. He is the One who says "I am

Jack" A man can say hey look! “I am a Guru” come listen to me. He might say:

come hear what I have to say. He says give me money so that I can teach. The real

truth is free. It has no form, how can I pretend to be God? Or “A God”? The I Am is

“THE GOD”, I have no form...as your life itself I teach you. Not as a man; as the

universe I show you, Myself. In your heart I am your love. The I Am is not a man,

nor a guru. So what is happening now between us?

Sadhu: I am awakening to "I"

bindu: Ah! Yes. You are coming to know I"... "I" who is ALL, this is Ananta. Ananta

means infinity. bindu means point of light. It is an infinite point of light. Ananta

    Yoga.

Sadhu: So the idea of the guru is used to raise consciousness.

    bindu: Yes, that is right.

    Sadhu: Metaphorically a point?

bindu: Yes. The first speck of being is like the very first atom that appears out of

The Absolute. From this the whole cosmos arises due to reflection; and atom by

atom it comes into existence faster than the speed of light. It is the actual first

point. Due to its being the first it is connected to the infinite.

Sadhu: But it sounds like it happens in time... and as such cannot be the source

     Time.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    31/198

bindu: Oh the bindu does yes. It is the first. It is like the seed of Being.

Sadhu: But how, if the process had no beginning or end, does the atom reflect and

    look at itself?

bindu: Ah! Now you see it yes ... that is it. The process begins before the next

trillionth part of a nanosecond has elapsed and ends just as fast.

Sadhu: The same as all the beings reflect everything and each other. So one

    contains the all?

bindu: Yes, always. This is the philosopher’s stone. It makes everything valuable.

Turns everything into gold or makes everything of the same value.

Sadhu: So the process “IN TIME” is for each individual to fully self realize its nature

    as The Absolute One?

bindu: That is a nice way of saying it, yes. This is the meaning of Being.

Sadhu: Then after realization it is '''''static'''' beingness and yet nothing really

    happened TO The Absolute?

bindu: Yes, The Absolute is eternally immortal (Static). Yes. So it is an imaginary

    picture in The Absolute.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    32/198

Sadhu: But to those within it, humans and all beings should we ascribe meaning

outside of Self-realization to an individual life. Can we ascribe meaning outside of

    realization to a human life?

bindu: Life has real meaning only when we contribute to the whole.

Sadhu: What is it in me that knows right and wrong, what moves my heart when I

see suffering, what makes me emotional, when I hear a nice piece of music?

bindu: The connection of the consciousness in you with “The Self” in the thing

perceived causes this. It is the recognition. The compassion and empathy for The

Self; it is the love which is conscious of Love.

Sadhu: So is it necessary that people should suffer? Is it ALL karma or the result of

    karma?

bindu: Ah! now you are beginning to make connections...IT IS ALL KARMA, yes.

    Sadhu: ALL?

bindu: The world exists because the Absolute IS All.

    Sadhu: I don't understand.

bindu: The world manifests as the result of the potency; any result, is Karma.

Sadhu: What about innocent people dying or suffering.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    33/198

bindu: They aren't innocent, you are only seeing the surface, the Omniscient needs

to have and know all there is to know in itself. Else it is not omniscient. Those who

suffer are not condemned to be at that level forever. As they too are The Absolute

pretending to be the Jiva. That is why death exists else the knowledge we call pain

would not end for anyone. Reincarnation is therefore enacted in the sense that the

knowledge of pain or destruction transcends itself and becomes creation or re-

    birth.

Sadhu: When you say pretending to be the Jiva, is it the same as saying self-

    reflecting on itself.

bindu: Yes, that which they are experiencing shows the rest the result of loveless-

ness or rejection. They teach us compassion for The Self, without their sacrifice

who would know what compassion is? Thus they are very compassionate parts of

the whole, and are worthy of our utmost compassion.   If a man kills or harms

another, that man is killing himself.

Sadhu: And to the Omniscient consciousness everything is how it should BE?

bindu: Yes ... it is perfect.

Sadhu: What do you mean killing himself?

bindu: He is killing himself because his action condemns him to return again and

again to this point; until he overcomes his primal anger he will die again and again.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    34/198

The person he killed lies at his feet. He sees the result; his action is causing his

    evolution.

    Sadhu: Reincarnation is a FACT?

bindu: Yes it is a fact because The Self is the ALL and His omniscience must

transcend the modes of knowing we call knowledge, ideas or cognitions.

Sadhu: When does he know the result of what he has done, only after the physical

    body dies?

bindu: Yes, after he dies- or even “AS”  he dies! If a person dies thinking, he has

such and such attributes, (because he is The Self masquerading as that man) he

will come back as that man immediately. He dies or he will go to the world he

believes exists for those who die. In short he, The Absolute, will go to where He says

He will go, or be what He says, He is. The same laws apply in this world when you

say I am Jack, you the God, do as you wish; but in truth nothing dies or lives.

Sadhu: But if “I” said “I” AM or “I” “AM” - IT?

bindu: Nothing happens. If you say that, I will ask who says that?

    Sadhu: It just happens.

    bindu:

Jack cannot say it in a way that makes any difference. Jack can say it but it won’t

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    35/198

mean anything. It has to be HE, The Absolute, who says it, not Jack.  But if Jack

realizes the truth he knows all saying is done by The Absolute not by Jack.

    Sadhu:

But The Absolute cannot speak or know.

bindu: Ah! That is the secret of it yes ....Whose voice is in your head? To whom

does it arise? That is the ONE, so then He says it AS Jack, He does not say it as

Himself, in His true nature. This is why there are beings; but for it to be real, Jack

    must know who he is.

    Sadhu: Ah!: AS

    bindu: Yes, AS!

Sadhu: But IT is not A THING, it is not an IT .

bindu: Yes, it is ALL, existing AS....

Sadhu: The Absolute BEING, things - as things?

    bindu: Yes.

Sadhu: And The Absolute is *not* consciousness?

bindu: No it isn't, it is conscious of consciousness... it is indefinable.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    36/198

Sadhu: It cannot be called anything including sacred, so the scale of sacredness

stops at the highest divine deity.

bindu: Yes, the god of form ends there.

Sadhu: It is the formless ''''''''GOD''''''''

bindu: Yes. It is the Tao. Thus the deity is in the foreground of the final slide at  The

Yogicfire Web Site, with the cosmos peeled back behind it.

Sadhu: Is it correct to say that “The I” that looks out of your eyes, is the same I that

    looks out of mine?

    bindu:

Oh yes, but let us be specific – it is the “I Am” looking through the I-Am-ness. The

same I looks out of an ants eyes, a germs and virii, a cats, an eagles and so on.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    37/198

This is the Omniscient ONE knowing as that being - what that being knows; it is

    hence Omniscience.

    Sadhu:

Some western systems speak of consciousness *transference* into animals and

different forms such as plants etc to experience what it is like to be this form of

consciousness. All these forms experience the universe differently, yet the ONE that

    looks is the same.

bindu: Well Lord Krishna says, if you attain even one of my Siddhis (powers) you

will never attain my transcendental nature.

Sadhu: Yet the consciousness or form of consciousness is different because things

such as this still happen to a 'me'

    bindu: Yes that is right.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    Time and Vibration

    bindu:

Time and vibration are two very subtle and hard to grasp things. Time no matter

how great a duration, appears as a mere speck to The Absolute (maybe not even a

speck). This is why to the Conscious Absolute; the Universe from one end to the

other comes into being, in less than a heart beat. Thus the universe is ended and

reborn faster than a particle of a nanosecond.

We think that a second is a very short time, it is not.

It may as well be an eternity.

Sadhu: All of the universe and all Time from beginning to end?

    bindu: Yes, ALL.

Sadhu: It is ended and reborn NOW all the time?

bindu: Yes, but since it “OCCURS IN ALL NOWS” “ALL THE TIME” it is eternal; and

as such has always existed in the state of flashing, “AS” what is called the Spanda-

    Sakti. Om has always been.

Sadhu: Infinitely fast vibration is stillness?

bindu: Yes, when a single speck moves every atom in the Cosmos must move aside

to accommodate its’ repositioning itself in space. Yet it might be thought that since

nothing in nothing can affect anything, how can one say it vibrates or moves

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    39/198

anything in anything? And if indeed it does not move, since all is nothing then

nothing moves in nothing… Hence it is Conscious and absolute and moves in and

AS itself; else there can be no reference made here in this book or anywhere else to

nothing having an existence beyond existence; then This conscious ONE due to the

fact of self-awareness enacts the vibration called consciousness.

    Sadhu: Ok that makes sense.

    bindu:

Now that movement, no matter how small a movement - no matter how small a

particle, is The whole universe moving. So nothing moves in The Absolute except

the whole. Which is also The Absolute; if you can get this you will get instant

    realization.

Sadhu: When a thing moves no matter how small it is or how minute its movement,

everything has to move to accommodate the movement?

    bindu:

Yes, science knows all matter in the universe is interconnected. It is fact. So it all

moves when you move. So you are the universe.

    Sadhu: WOW!

bindu: How much more proof do you need? It is scientific fact; there is no thing at

    all but the ONE. NONE!

Sadhu: The Absolute behind it is the only thing that doesn't move?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    40/198

bindu: Yes. Now back to Time; though that movement appears to take an eternity

to effect the whole, it does not. The whole moves “AS” THAT ONE! “The Absolute” is

that in which the Cosmos moves. Thus if you remove the Cosmos there is infinite

stillness full of unmoving TIME. It is what I call full of moment. The Spanda-Karika

calls it the Spanda-Principal (the Supreme Vibration). It is also sometimes called

    Spanda-Sakti.

The Spanda-Karika is a doctrine which says the cosmos is born from vibration and

vibrates in and out of manifestation forever. This is true, as nothing can exist in

atomic reality without the spinning of the atomic particles, of which matter is

composed. This is vibration. Out of this, physical existence appears as if by magic.

    Sadhu:

Is vibration the cause of the different densities in manifestation, physical through

    to consciousness itself?

    bindu:

Yes, this is the Absolute creating the whole in EVERY SINGLE ATOM AT THE

SAME TIME everywhere. So the whole is born out of the bindu.

    Sadhu: But what actually vibrates?

bindu: The reflection in The Absolute; of the emptiness; it is effervescence that has

become evanescence; it then becomes effervescence again; thus the heart beats in

the breast of all beings; the breath goes in and out; planets obit and seasons come

and go in an infinite dance; in the Sanatan-Dharma this is called the Dance of

bindu: The whole exists in the SAME NOW, there is no such thing as “MANY”. It is

one. Drop the thought of many.

Sadhu: One bindu and one consciousness? Are these different?

bindu: No, because light and consciousness are synonymous, the photons all pop

out of the same Absolute at the same time all over the cosmos.

Sadhu: Consciousness itself is a vibration?

bindu: Yes. That is it; think NOW. What is occurring everywhere in every atom at

    this moment?

Sadhu: But physical light is not consciousness. It is conscious?

bindu: No it isn't conscious it is the reflection of The Conscious Absolute.

    Sadhu:

    Every atom is vibrating, ok.

bindu: Yes; go through it step by step.

    Sadhu: Yes!

    bindu: IN THE SAME SPACE!

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    43/198

Sadhu: It is all vibrating a “ONE thing”. Everything is IN this ONE thing!

bindu: Yes; IN THE SAME NOW!

Sadhu: And there is nothing OUTSIDE of this ONE thing. And no matter what

changes occur within this one thing, it is always still the ONE thing, and has

always been the same one thing. It is consciousness then of vibrating particles,

    monadic and not continuous.

bindu: No, there is nothing outside The Self; the key is TIME. There is no TIME! If

anything happens it happens in the ONE; so due to the fact of the whole moving if

anything moves it is the ONE MOVING; but due to that it is not really moving at all

because there is nowhere to go to. For example:

An arrow moves in a space equal to itself ... so does it move or not?

Thus Time cannot be said to exist –

as its existence depends on distance or movement -

    but it does not move.

Hence it does not exist yet does.

    bindu: Ask yourself.

Sadhu: No it does not and cannot move.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    44/198

bindu: The Whole moves in a space equal to itself, so it does not move at all; this is

    stupendous.

Sadhu: Because there is nothing outside of it?

    bindu: Yes... and? This is a leap of understanding;

    Sadhu:

All that exists, or will exist is within this ONE.

    bindu: m... and?

    Sadhu:

So I am IN IT now.

    bindu:

    m.. and?

    Sadhu: So is 'my' mind.

bindu: m... and? What mind? Whose mind?

Sadhu: So is everything phenomenal, (*no matter how subtle*) “in my” perception

    bindu:

Yes. I am waiting for you to say, “YOU ARE IT.” There are not two beings; not two

anything's, only ONE, no many, no diversity, no egos, no Jiva, no minds, no

    beings.- NONE. NOTHING BUT YOU!

    bindu:

All hands are yours. YOU are an utter miracle.

Sadhu: All this is happening in what I AM!

bindu: Yes. The Upanishad says: He has countless hands, countless eyes - etc. He

moves without moving - He goes without going and so on. The Tao says what can

be described is not the real Tao. Zen says what is the sound of one hand clapping?

Buddha says how wondrous. How mysterious - I carry fuel I draw water!

Sadhu: I AM literally and truly everything, that is 'my' identity?

bindu: Yes, you are god, (The Jiva is not).

Sadhu: THAT IS WHAT I AM - Jiva is included in what I AM!

    bindu:

So you are in a real spin eh? Great! Yes, He is included, as is all else and all other

    beings everywhere.

Sadhu: My God! THAT is WHAT I AM! THAT IS WHAT *******I******AM*****!

    My God!

    My tears filled up the ocean;

    My anger filled up eternity;

My heart was an iron bell

    which no-one heard.

As the wind of my breath

swelled the clouds of my being

    like sails alone in a storm;

    My own footsteps rang loud

on the cold stone of my mind.

    None heard. Not the sigh of another;

Not the merest hint of one,

    save myself stood there -

    I was alone!

    Traveling forever, I arrived no-where;

I saw nothing and met no-One

upon the road within the emptiness.

No God sat upon a throne

    and no Devil howled beneath my feet;

for all these but drew breath

at the very whim of my own imagination.

    To myself I speak the truth;

    I am! - I am, I Am!

    I am alone - I am - -

    My God!

    Sadhu:

Yet all these thoughts and all these ideas and ALL these things are ALSO WHAT I

    AM!! I am THAT!

bindu: Yes. Or not even THAT.

    Sadhu:

And what is occurring right NOW is happening, the conversation that WE are

having is occurring in what I AM!

    bindu: Yes.

Sadhu: Any questions and any truths and anything that I can think, is also a part

of what I Am! Here and now is WHAT I AM, there is nothing that I AM NOT!

    bindu:

Yes. Over the coming days your mind will make all sorts of connections it will go on

    for a long time.

    Sadhu: What should be done?

bindu: Nothing. Just watch and enjoy.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

Sadhu: But when I ask WHO is watching, that thought is also a part of what I AM.

bindu: Yes, so have fun in your OWN BEING.

Sadhu: But how can I talk to I?

bindu: It will take a while to settle down into a quiet deep-deep peace; then you can

act from that and help other parts of yourself. Knowing this truth is absolute peace

and freedom forever. See what meditation brings tonight.

Sadhu: I have awakened to what I AM! But the Sadhu meditating is a part of what I

    am!

    bindu: Isn't it fun?

Sadhu: How can I deepen this realization?

    bindu:

Just meditate as the space, always, not just when you go and sit to meditate. Exist

as it. Be the meditation. You will be the incarnation of meditation. In the sharing, it

tends to grow because you are sharing with ALL. If you keep it to your jiva-self, it

will not be long before you feel an urge to share.

Sadhu: But I hear so much about keeping realization private etc.

    bindu:

Well it is not a matter of advertising it, you are right.

    Sadhu:

themselves. I merely point them inward. But the funny thing is that a few have

been with for more than 3 years and they have not gotten to where you have in 3

days; but they are younger than you by 10 years.

Sadhu: What do you mean 3 days!! I have been searching for 22 years or more!!

    Who is The Self

    Who is the Self?

    I am the Sitter.........

when I sit walking is dormant in Me

    I am the walker------

when I walk sitting is dormant in Me...

    when I move .......

    stillness is dormant in Me...

    When I sit, I sit as all those who sit - just then;

All modes of sitting reside in My sitting.

When I walk, I walk as all those walking beings:

All modes and styles of walking reside in Me.

    When I see, I see as all those who see;

    everything seen resides in Me.

    When I hear, I hear all who hear;

All hearing and every sound resides in Me.

I taste as all who eat, at that moment;-

I am the eater of all food, and am eaten also.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    52/198

In my sitting I am awake, I do not have to think

of all those others residing in My sitting.

When walking, I walk I am present in My walking.

I do not think of the countless beings who are walking.... just then.

Sleeping, I sleep as all sleepers, I am awake to myself.

Conscious of Myself, all who are awake are awake in Me.

    I am the Self, residing in Myself --- or all unknown;

I exist in all those who think they are the actors and doers.

yet am not known by them ... all in Me --- I in them all.

Dormant in them, their minds asleep, they do not know Me.

    I Am That

Sadhu: What experiences have other students had?

    bindu:

Well we don't talk about that. They will if they are asked but I don't ask. We are not

after any particular experience we are after the end. Taking notice of any

experiences can delude us so it is not encouraged.

Sadhu: In essence all mystical experience is the same as hanging out the laundry.

    bindu:

Yes, isn't it weird? Right in front of you and you miss it all the time.

Sadhu: But then I think what, when I die? But then I think, WHO is thinking that

thought? Then I think that “THAT” is WHAT I AM. I Am “THAT” and the I Am is

    “THAT” also.

    bindu:

Yes. The Jiva dissolution actually happened to me. It also happened to

Muktananda. It is like looking at the dot shown on the image below. This is death

    while not dead.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

In most cases everyone who has had a near death experience talks of a bright light.

The following image gives a graphic representation of this process. Note the

different lines or rays of light all lead to and from the absolute light. These are

implicit time-lines or lives lived by countless beings all seeking the conscious-love-

    light

    From Tirumantirum Tantra Nine

2686: The Light Within is the Blending of All Lights; Jnana, Siva and

Pranava That Light within Is pure as light of lightning; It is Light that is

great and red; It is the Light of Param That beams Jnana; It is the Light

of Adharas six ascended, It is the Light born of constant thought on

Pure Word (Aum) It is the Light that is blended of these lights all.

2687: The Little Light Within Points to the Effulgent Light The

Effulgent Light stands as a sparkling light concealed That ever to the

shining Lord points; It is the light of the heart; It is the rich light that

within the body pulsates Pervading all, -Thus did the Lord as Light

    stand.

2688: Divine Light Devours Soul's Darkness Luminous is that Light; It

is Light that devours Soul's darkness; It is Light of those who adore

Him in Jnana Light; He devours the poison that with ambrosia arises

From the milky seas And holds it in His throat ever; Unto it, is His

    Light too

    Sadhu: Yes.

    bindu:

That light is as I have shown.

Sadhu: But upon death of the physical body, the soul or mental body directs where

it will go or what it will experience?

bindu: If the mental body has not been transcended; then yes, else no.

    Sadhu:

Transcended means 'dissolved' because thoughts are still (the mind is no more) and

the underlying Absolute is known. It shines of itself - undistorted or tainted.

bindu: Yes, then to the one who dies knowing this; there is no difference because

his consciousness was known all along to be that light itself. His Jiva left him long

ago. He does not go anywhere but he has a choice to either merge or return as a

    being.

He having known Jivanmukti2 and having entered Maha-Samadhi3 he will return

because he knows the others have not gotten Jivanmukti. He is like a new cell to

which other cells come to be healed.

Sadhu: Jivanmukti - Merging entails what?

bindu: It depends what you are asking by asking: "merging entails what"?

Sadhu: What is the difference between merging and returning as a being? For

example, I ask all these questions about what is going to happen etc. but it is all

still a happening in what I AM it is “A” merging into the I AM.

bindu: Ah! Now you see it....... there is none? Yes.... so what happens when you

    die?

Sadhu: Who dies? Who returns who merges? I don't get it!

bindu: Ah! Lord Krishna says in Bhagavad-Gita; “Nothing lives and nothing dies.”

So nothing happens. - Nothing is happening - Nothing will happen - Nothing can

    happen - Nothing has happened.

Sadhu: Because it is what I AM?

    2

JivanMukti: Sanskrit: Freedom while alive. Freedom from re-birth. JivanMukta: One who has attainedJivamukti.3 Maha-Samadhi: Maha: Great… Samadhi Absorption in God.

bindu: M, nothing is moving in “You”-The Absolute.

Sadhu: But what will happen when 'you' as a body dies?

bindu: The body returns to dust and moisture. Nothing happens to the soul

because the soul is The Absolute. But until this is realized, there will be the need to

    reincarnate.

    Sadhu: The astral body separates.

bindu: The astral body is also within the i-ness. Think of it as if there is an x-ray

machine that can be tuned to an ever-finer degree to see more and more of the

subtle body until there is no longer any body or bones or any type of object. That is

the state of the Absolute Awareness.

Sadhu: Ok infinite fast vibration is still. (The vibration has ended). The Spanda-

Sakti has resolved into itself; soon it will manifest out of its own stillness.

bindu: A man may become Jivanmukta, but what is in him is not in him. His “I” is

in The Absolute living through him. He is already dead. His mind is extinguished.

    To quote Sri-Dattatreya's Avadhuta Gita:

    3. I have developed no false notion

that all this reality comes into existence

or that all this unreality comes into existence.

I am free from disease - my form has been extinguished.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    58/198

Sadhu: A Jivanmukta is The Absolute looking out through human eyes undistorted

    / pure non reflection?

bindu: Yes. I prefer not to use designations such as point to Race, Genus or

Species. He is of no race, He is a new species. He is no longer human.

    Sadhu:

So people like Meher-baba, Maharshi, Nissagadatta were examples of this?

    bindu: Yes.

Sadhu: God looks at *Himself* but all these STILL are within what I AM and any

knowledge about them is still within what I am.

    bindu: Yes

    Sadhu:

God looks at Himself through every reflected self, yet knows He is He who is looking

    in the realized selves.

bindu: I think you better rephrase that.

    Sadhu:

A God looks at Himself through every reflected self who has realized He “IS” the

unity; but two realized people cannot talk to each other because realization doesn't

happen to people, this is the paradox. It IS I.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    59/198

    bindu:

Two realized people look at each other and laugh their heads off. They know no one

has realized anything. He looks through every self, but this is not necessarily

    evident.

    Sadhu:

Well those realized people are not realized, IT IS I! It is I, not you, not me!

bindu: That's why they have nothing to say and laugh.

Sadhu: But this is too weird. I ALONE AM... I ALONE AM, that's IT!

bindu: Yes.... there are no others; this talk is happening to you in You-The-

Absolute! He says I Am and His i-ness appears.

    Sadhu:

But I AM EVERYTHING!!! EVERYTHING! NO-YES-NO. I AM THAT ALSO! I am not

    everything! I am everything!

bindu: No, yes, maybe, not really, ok, not, yes, blah, blah, blah -- neti neti.

    Sadhu:

I am a chicken and I am THAT SENTENCE declaring that i am a chicken. There is

no such thing as a realized you and a realized me, since I ALONE AM.

    bindu: An OWL!!!! ohohoh.

    Sadhu:

This is all appearing happening like magic!

    bindu:

    Yes. A fantastic imaginary dreamscape.

    Sadhu:

The world everything. There is only one!

bindu: Think of it, the whole UNIVERSE!!! Stars, Suns, Supernova, Planets, and

Dwarf-Stars ---- all of it is appearing in You. Unbelievable numbers of beings

existing on this tiny little planet from unnumbered germs & virii up to countless

    others. All are You. Stupendousness!

    Sadhu: What?

bindu: Yes what ... All this appearance or nonappearance. Wrongness or rightness,

Good or evil... and neither also.

Sadhu: All there IS – “IS” what I AM!

    bindu:

No, what is, IS YOUR I-Amness - You are Om!

    Sadhu: What is Om?

bindu: A way of speaking a meaningless syllable to signify the whole. Or it is the

    sound inherent in The I-AM.

    Sadhu:

    OH THAT whole!!!!!!!!

    bindu: What whole?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    62/198

    I-AM-Ness and That

Sadhu: I remember two remarkable points about the Siva Sutras. The very first line

    says:

"Universal consciousness is one’s own nature."

    And elsewhere it says:

"That the body of the yogi also becomes part of the external universe."

Does the body become the centre or does it become, or is it, the receptacle for the

    entire universe?

bindu: Neither. The consciousness recognizes that the body is part of it just as a

rock is. The Consciousness does not simply dwell in the body after realization it is

everywhere and nowhere. The Universe (or more correctly the Cosmos) is the all-

around-Present-objectified Atman. The Absolute is conscious everywhere in that, as

well as outside it i.e. beyond its existence.

Sadhu: All around present *objectified* Atman means the consciousness of the

    individual Atman?

bindu: No! It is not that way at all; referring to the individual ATMAN is a

contradiction in terms, as there is no “INDIVIDUAL ATMAN”. Think of it like this...

the body is seen by the realized ones, as if it is a dream. Your comment refers to

the Jivatma not the Atman. Think like the following for a moment.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    63/198

You can imagine a ghost or a red dog ... you can picture it in your mind yes?

    Sadhu: Yes.

bindu: Now to The Absolute (in which The I Am dwells “AS” The Absolute) the body

called by the name bindu appears the same as your imaginary dog or ghost. It

appears as if over there - vaguely existing in an almost surreal way. Think of your

brother he is in your mind, but you cannot see him with your eyes. He is not as

clear as if you were with him. My body appears to The Absolute (in which i dwell)

    like that.

Now then I see the whole of existence in the same way... my REAL is your unreal

and Supernatural. Yet this does not refer to the supernatural as in how that is-

thought about generally. It refers to the All-around-and-through consciousness

without end or limit, in the physical, or in the metaphysical; as in The Conscious

Absolute, they are like conjoint twins that are co-dependent.

Sadhu: That makes sense but what about other objects, all appear simultaneously,

    so it’s kind of opposite.

bindu: Yes, but far more conscious, because the consciousness is not limited to the

physical; thus I can seem normal and act normal. For example: I can actually enter

the consciousness of a dinosaur or shark or fly and so on; but not as a man. It

must be done as that creature - feeling as it does and so on.

Sadhu: Knowing them to be how they are and were etc. which also means

    understanding on an intimate level?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    64/198

bindu: Yes. It is like actually being them. If however I wanted to know in English

what they were thinking, that is impossible. Because that would mean the

consciousness has become where it is now; it has left the place or Time where that

knowledge exists. Yet while being another being the consciousness has in effect

regressed in its evolution to the extent where it cannot speak.

Imagine the rage of T-Rex or the gentleness of a dove and so on. It is all right there.

Anyway, it will not be a good idea to dwell too much on this sort of conversation

dear. We were talking about God yesterday, have you understood it yet?

Sadhu: Yes. I know that what perceives is what I AM, nothing can exist outside of

what I AM; but i can't think about what I AM. All gods are a part of “what I AM”

nothing exists outside of what I AM.

bindu: Yes, yes, but why does God have to exist in order for you to come to know

who you are. Why Must God exist so that you can come to know your "I AM"?

    Sadhu: It doesn't.

bindu: Oh yes it does, sorry.

Sadhu: Even if god with the big G came down right now it would still be appearing

within the consciousness of what I AM.

bindu: Yes, but who told you who you are? How did you find out? Did you do it?

No! God came and told you! Before that there was a man; that man did not and

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

    65/198

could not tell himself who he was. Who told me who i am? God. Before that i was

thinking I am a man only. The man could not tell himself who he was. He thought

he was a man only. He believed he existed.

Sadhu: How does anyone become realized then, is it the same always; are they

    always told?

bindu: No, no one becomes realized; God reveals His own nature; but yes, by the

grace of God, God comes and tells us. So who is that God? What is He?

Sadhu: He is what perceives ALL this.

bindu: So He, is the one who is realized, is He?

    Sadhu: yes.

bindu: Well who is the Massive being of light who embraces the whole Cosmos in

his being? That is God Himself in Himself. All the things shine by His light alone....

He exists as the bridge to The Absolute, HE is God. He is the Gu and the Ru (which

    mean light and dark respectively). He is the Guru... But not and never the man;

this is the true nature of the Guru. A man who thinks he is the Guru is a fool.

The only true Guru is God; He is called the Sadguru4 (the Guru who dwells in the

heart – The Real Guru – He is never the man). This God is called Iswara by the

Hindus. He is never born. He is the empty space in which the Cosmos “IS”; but

4 Sadguru or Satguru means true guru (Sanskrit sat=true), literally: true teacher. The title means that his students

have faith that the guru can be trusted and will lead them to moksha, enlightenment or inner peace. It is based ona long line of Hindu philosophical understandings of the importance of knowledge and that the teacher, guru, isthe sacred conduit to self-realization.

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

once the space merges in Space He is the unknowable. He is that in which all Gods

dwell. He is called Krishna “the Dark One” because He is unseen yet known as

    sheer presence!

Sadhu: What is the relationship of “The I AM” to that being you refer to “AS” God?

bindu: The relationship is, first You are God, the Cosmos is your i-am-ness, it is

your form.. In you there are countless beings and other Gods also.

Sadhu: That being is the consciousNESS of all that IS; including the consciousness

    of a man.

bindu: That is The Atman's form yes, but HIS   “I”, HIS   “Me” is formless. His

consciousness is His I-amness which displays in Himself.

The Cosmos is YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS OH GOD! but it is not YOU! It is

yours; just as a man’s body is not him.  I refer to a man’s BODY think

    on this.

Your i-am-ness is what “YOU” call "YOUR" think on this.

It is "YOUR" consciousNESS think on this. You are the conscious

ONE who is GOD Himself, all this that is displayed in you, is your “I-

    amNESS.”

The Cosmos and every being in it, is hence worthy of the deepest

respect from you. If on the other hand you do not respect it, then due

to it being you, the jiva will know the pain you have given to yourself!

    That i-am-ness is your form.

Thus God must exist to know His I-AM.

He is not different from His I-AM.

Sadhu: So, if I AM God, and the universe and everything that appears within it, is

my own consciousness or mind? Is this what you mean by “MY” I-amness?

bindu: Yes, precisely, but do not make the mistake of thinking The “YOU” – (The

Jiva) is God as he appears IN YOU also. Yet you transcend existence and become

unknowable as a defined or definable concept. As when you are the I-Am, the

universe appears “IN” you as your I-amness.

Sadhu: The being of light then is “I” Myself?

bindu: Yes that is right; yet once He discovers Himself His reflection becomes

extraneous; just as you own reflection tells you who you are; and thereafter you do

not need the mirror to identify your face. In this way, the God of form transcends

his own form and consciousness also. Thus God exists; indeed He must exist for

you to be told who you are!

He is God. Then once the truth of Himself is known as Himself He is known to be

    the All-In-All.

Sadhu: It is no different if it “WAS” the massive being of light telling me the same

    thing?

bindu: That is right. It does not matter if He exists or not because in the end He is

God. In His own consciousness beyond the witness – The Witness (god) has

transcended existence. In you there is no being of light there is only light. You

either exist as Him or as Jiva. In either case the Jiva must be told he is not what he

thinks he is. He must come to realize he has been God all along; hiding and

pretending He is the Jiva. So you The Absolute create or make Him to tell you who

you are! You created him so “YOU” can find You!

Be very careful here to understand -

that if the Jiva is referred to as himself ( as you) -

or is referred to as God –

    you have made a grave mistake;

for how can the referred-to (the reflection) become the Man?

Sadhu: Yet what is really happening here?

bindu: Think a moment; this is an amazing thing. While in reality God is a myth,

you cannot create anything in this world that is not a myth, even up to the entire

Cosmos. BECAUSE YOU ARE ALL THAT EXISTS!!!

Sadhu: The I AM is The Absolute Being; that is - "I alone AM". My consciousness is

the manifest universe, yet I also reflect in every other being.

bindu: Yes, then the countless Jiva are reflections; they are copies-of-copies,

shining in the mirror of your (You-The-Self) own psychic-space. Vis: Consciousness

shining as consciousness. Here if you are quick you will realize that since you do

not exist as Jiva, that very non-existence is “HIM” it is not Jiva’s non-existence as

the Jiva does not even not-exist..

There is nothing outside of this consciousness and everything is formed of it. I

alone "Am The One Conscious I" which lights up the entire world this is what I AM,

and I alone am. Everything is included in my consciousness. Even now I alone am,

but what am I? I Am That! Where do “I” exist?

EVERYTHING IS IMAGINARY but YOU are unimaginable. You are unknowable; yes

You “ARE THAT”! You are not any - where  – “YOU ARE!” You Are “The I-Am!”

    Sadhu: I Am Existence!

bindu: Yes, “You” exist as infinity; “You” are the ground of all that IS. However

whether what exists is a dream or illusion or is real does not matter because either

it exists as illusion or it exists as reality hence in either case it exists. Think some

    more.

Sadhu: Everything is phenomenal to the I AM. The I AM is not objective to what I

    AM, therefore i am THAT!

    bindu: m, yes.

Sadhu: There is no God outside of what I Am; “I AM IT!”

bindu: So why does God exist? And who/what is He?

    Sadhu: Many gods exist.

bindu: Yes, in you. Each Jiva has a god who is called Jivatma; the sum of all Jeeva

is ParamAtma. The God is You.

Sadhu: I can't bow to what I am because I AM That.

    bindu:

Yes, but You can bow to You. Now that You know who You are, You can worship

You. It makes no difference now but if Jiva worships himself he will remain

deluded. You can also realize that all bajans, all worship, all hymns, all prayers all

goodness, all grace and all Love and compassion arises in Him for Himself. Hence

He worships Himself “AS” existence itself!

Sri Dattatreya says in Avadhuta Gita Chapter 3 verse 2:

    2. Siva (The Absolute) is ever without white and other colors.

This effect and cause are also The Supreme Siva.

I am thus the pure Siva, Devoid of all doubt.

Oh beloved friend, how shall I bow to The Self in My Self?

    Sadhu: But I AM that!

bindu: Yes, the one who bows and the one who is bowed to. You can bow or not,

who cares? Is there a difference? Where is there any difference in anything? –

Nowhere!  So who cares? Do as you should in respect for yourself ... or not - this is

the state of an Avadhuta. Read The Avadhuta Gita of Sri-Dattatreya.

Or you can set an example of worshipping God, which although no one is conscious

of who you are; The Self knows – such that the example of worshipping yourself (as

The Self worshipping The Self) reaches the watcher on a subconscious level and

they will be drawn to The Self also. But do not allow them to put YOU on a

pedestal; as their actions are to the Jiva by the Jiva. Rather, show them the way

inward to the Self instead and tell them to put HIM on a pedestal in their own

    hearts.

    Sadhu: Avadhuta?

  • 8/13/2019 Ananta Yoga Darshana Volume Two

bindu: An Avadhuta is one who goes about naked as Siva Himself. Naked means He

has no self; it does not refer to the common idea that He goes about without

clothing as it is often interpreted to mean.

Sadhu: Yet all this is happening within my own consciousness, which is

    everywhere.

    bindu: Yes, but so what?

Sadhu: What I AM, is THAT!

    bindu: So what? Who cares?

Sadhu: My consciousness or mind is every THING!

bindu: So what? Do you care? NO you don't, because you are yourself.

    Sadhu: Yes!

bindu: Remember our conversations started in regard to moral yes?

    Sadhu: yes.

bindu: So where do morals figure for your REAL self?

Sadhu: They are a part of what I AM, the same as anything else.

bindu: Yes, but they are imaginary just like God is, but we keep them for the sake

of other bits of The Self who have not returned whence they came.   Behav
