This latest 12th edition of our college e-news letter ‘Pharmabuzz@ACPians’, at
Anand College of Pharmacy is out now, as we bid goodbye to the year 2018. All
the activities and outstanding performances of the students are noted herewith,
including sports, with staff’s hard work put in for all students. The glimpse of the
good year 2018 gone by is covered. Pl. keep up the good work & put your best foot
forward in what you are doing either study or extracurricular and cultural activities.
I hope, everyone ring in the new year with added enthusiasm to lit a spark in
student’s mind.

‘Institution Innovation Cell’ MHRD, govt. of India established in Anand College of Pharmacy (SGI) Agra
An ‘Institution Innovation Cell’ (IIC) has been established as per the norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of HRD, Government of India in Anand College of Pharmacy, (ACP) SGI, Agra. As per directives of Dr. Kashmira J. Gohil, head of the institution(ACP), Dr. Monika Singh (Asst. Prof.) is appointed as the president of Institution innovation cell of Anand college of Pharmacy. Other team members are Dr. Pankaj Verma (Convener) and Dr. Deepali Pandey along with 15 students. The Vice Chairman of SGI, Shri Y.K. Gupta, Executive Vice President Prof. V. K. Sharma, Dean Dr. K. J. Gohil, and project president Dr. Monika Singh thank the Ministry of MHRD and appreciate the efforts of the team who brought this cell to ACP. The main objective of the Innovation Cell is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work on new innovative ideas and transform them to prototypes. The students will get mentorship from industry experts, patent experts and alumni of the host institution. There will be opportunity for the students to showcase their talents in Competitions. AICTE through another platform had invited problems of Industries from all over India to facilitate the students to work on Industry problems. During the event the AICTE had launched the novel initiative ‘AICTE Students Internship’ and ‘Technical Teachers Training Policies’ facilitating students and faculty members of academic institutions across the country.
Awareness campaign on Dengue, Chikungunya and Malaria were organized by Students of Anand College of Pharmacy (SGI) to create awareness for diseases in nearby rural areas like Lohakarera, Runakta. Faculty Coordinators Dr. Monika Singh and Ms. Preeti Solanki coordinated this Awareness campaign. Schools covered are SHAMFORD (Jaupura, Agra), Shri R. S. Public School (Sikandra, Agra), Draupdi Higher Secondary School (Shastri Puram, Agra) and Sun Lords Public School. In this campaign students give information about diseases, prevention and their treatment for dengue fever, Swine flu and others. Dean, Anand College of Pharmacy Dr. Kashmira J. Gohil, feels proud on such kind of community services and told that Pharmacists need to utilize this noble opportunity to serve the community by using technological skill to their best of the abilities with right balance of kindness and compassion for self growth as well as others, as the science and technology alone, can not take away all the ills of mankind, was the gist of the message.

Anand College of Pharmacy had successfully conducted the “SCHOOL CONNECTING PRORAMME 2018-19”in selected schools of Agra. The SCP coordinators Mrs. M. Shamshath Begum (Asst. Professor), Dr. Monika Singh (Asst. Professor) and Mrs. Preeti Solanki (Lecturer) conducted the program under the guidance of Dr. Kashmira J. Gohil ( Dean, Anand college of Pharmacy). They highlighted the issues of national importance and general awareness regarding Health (Dengue and its Safety) which Is necessary for the community, specially the students who are the future of nation. The coordinators organized “SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITION-2018-19”for the 12th class students targetting 15 schools in and around Agra–mathura regions (including M.D. Jain Boys Inter College, Hariparvat, Agra, JSL Boys iner college, Avantibai Girls Inter College, Chalesar, Agra, RS Public School, Sikandra, naming the few ). They also explained the importance and need of Pharmacy, a noble profession, which endeavors to provide cost effective drugs and medicines to the people. They counseled students by highlighting how a student might maximize their ability by selecting correct profession at SGI group, which can help students to meet the changing needs of the profession. After that Mrs. Shamshath Begum and Dr. Monika Singh also did students ‟CAREER COUNSELLING” by clarifying their doubts regarding pharmacy, engineering, BBA, MBA and other professions.

INDUSTRIAL TOUR
B. Pharm 3rd year and 4th year students of ACP along with two faculty members as tour Coordinators Mr. Gurvinder Pal Singh and Dr. Mukesh Kumawat went for an industrial visit from 16th October to 20th October, 2018, visiting two companies as : 1) Meek Pharma Pvt. Ltd. (Rudrapur ) : a veterinary drug unit 2) Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd., Pantnagar The students were provided a wide exposure to the manufacturing facilities and were extensively benefited by the company professionals. Students had a chance to visit & interact in various departments such as production, QA, QC. Over all, students benefited from the visit & had a memorable experience as they had fill in the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge. At each steps, in this visit, the industrial people replenished the knowledge of students. At the end of visit, on behalf of ACP, coordinators expressed a wholehearted thanks to the both Industry teams for their kind co-operation and providing opportunity for industrial exposure which has definitely enhanced the knowledge of students to achieve one of their professional goals. The students also, visited Woodland Waterfall, Naini Jheel, Nainital Mall Road Kainchi Dham, Neem Karoli Baba Temple, Golf ground Ranikhet, Frog Point and Metropolis Mall, Rudrapur. After returning to the resort, the students enjoyed zealous DJ Party Night and Bonfire. Dr. K. J. Gohil, Dean of the college motivated the team to keep organizing such tour to better industries in future at regular intervals when directed.

Ruksana Begam (B.Pharm 4th year) won Gold Medal in 100m race in AKTU State Level Sports Fest hosted by Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology & Management (BBD NITM), Lucknow on 15-17th November, 2018.

The Students (Girls and Boys) of Anand college of Pharmacy participated in Inter Branch Basket ball Tournament (Boys and Girls), Inter College Volley Ball Tournament (Boys and Girls) and Inter College Field Running (100m, 200m, 400m and relay race) organized by BSA College of Engineering & Technology, Mathura from 18th-19th October, 2018.
• Ruksana Begum (B.Pharm 4th year) won 1st prize (Gold) in zonal sports tournament in 100m race.
• Sonu (B.Pharm 4th year) won 1st prize (Gold) in zonal sports tournament in 200m race and stood 2nd (Silver) in 400m race for Males.
• The girls Basket ball team of Anand College of Pharmacy,SGI (Muskan, Ruksana, Burana) participated in the event.
• The girls volley ball team participated in the event.

The Students (Girls and Boys) of Anand college of Pharmacy participated in the various sports events (volley ball, football and badminton) at 'AAROHAN' organized by Anand Engineering College Technical Campus.
The girls badminton team (Samar Shahid and Samiah Rehman, B.Pharm final year) won finals. Sakshi Gupta (B.Pharm 1st year ) won Silver medal.
The boys volley ball team made their way to the semi finals and gave a tough fight to the opposing team.
The girls volley ball team reached to the finals where they performed their best. The boys football team made their way to the quarter finals. Sports Coordinators were Dr. Pankaj Verma, Mr. Talever Singh and Mr. Aniruddh Pratap Singh.

Anand College of Pharmacy staff celebrated New Year 2019 by cutting the cake and refreshments after staff meeting on very first day of January 2019. Dean Dr. K. J. Gohil addressed all staff members in a meeting and congratulated every body for hard work and continue the same on transition from 2018 to 2019. She wished all the staff members for the prosperous - healthy New Year.

Conferences/Seminar Attended : Mr. Aniruddh Pratap Singh attended the
Pharmacy Counseling India (PCI) sponsored Continuing Education Program (CEP) on the topic of Recent Advancement and challenges in Pharmaceutical Education and Research at the Noida Institute of engineering and Technology Pharmacy Institute, Greater Noida. Which was held on 3rd -5th Oct 2018.
Dr. Rekha Tarasingh Rajput has attended 8 days FDP (Advanced leval-2) on “Universal Human Value and Professional Ethics” organized by TEQIP-III and conducted by Value Education Cell, AKTU Lucknow at Hindustan College of Science and Technology, Mathura from 21st December to 28th December 2018.
Paper / Book Published: Dr. Deepali Pandey published a paper on
“Anti nociceptive, anti inflammatory and anti arthritic activity of ethanol root extract and fraction of Aganosma dichotoma” in Indian Journal of Experimental Biology, 2018, 56(9), 646-656. (Impact factor 1.4)
Dr. Deepali Pandey published a book on “Phytochemical Investigation of M.maderaspatana”, LAP Lambert Academic Publishing Germany, ISBN 978-3-8484-4628-5.
AICTE-AQIS A project grant fhas been applied under the
supervision of Dr. Kashmira J. Gohil. for organizing Conference or Seminar (Pharmacovigilance in India: Need of hour).
NAD Registration: Anand college of Pharmacy has applied for
registration in National Academic Depository (NAD). Dr. Mukesh Kumahawat has been appointed as Nodal Officers and Dr. Deepali Pandey is appointed as Admin user.
National Academic Depository (NAD) is a 24X7 online store house of all academic awards viz.certificates, diplomas, degrees, mark-sheets etc. duly digitised and lodged by academic institutions / boards / eligibility assessment bodies. NAD not only ensures easy access to and retrieval of an academic award but also validates and guarantees its authenticity and safe storage. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has designated the University Grants Commission (UGC) as an authorised body to establish and operationalise NAD .
