NME REVIEW - 2ND ARTICLE : MOON DUO “CIRCLES”
ANALYSING THE REVIEW - MOON DUO “CIRCLES”
The review also makes
references to other “space
rock” bands however states
that “racket makers”
referring to the amount of
noise made in “space duos”
songs “shines brighter” again
another space reference.
The review uses
words that relate to
the genre, in this case
the genre is space
rock, a genre that is
very unheard of.
The reviews makes references to the album
like “ crowded constellation” this allows the
reader to enjoy and understand the article as
the writer assumes that the reader will
understand the references without
explanation.
The review doesn’t forget
to mention the quality of
music either “guitar
drones and synth spirals”
In review of a song references such as
colliding are used so that the genre of
the album isn't forgotten. Also in
reference to the song it refers to the
piece as stone aged type garage riffs
with airy vocals, this instantly creates
an image in the readers head of the
band .
At the end the review almost makes a slight joke “circles” is out of this
world, again referencing the genre of the music, sometimes making it a
bit cheesy.
DJ Mag – Flash Of Light”
Analysing the review - Flash Of light
This review is based on a
single which was released
called “flash of light”. The
writer constantly uses
words in relation to the
apocalypse and the idea of
the end of the world.
“as if I were listening to a sound of
party at the end of the world” gives
the reader an insight of what the
music genre is, i.e. they begin to
imagine and recreate the image of the
dance floor and music in their mind.
“sodden with melancholy” “as it crushes every
dance floor in its way” means soaked in a
gloomy state of mind, especially when habitual
or prolonged; depression. The writer gives the
impression of a sad yet heavy based track that
everyone wants to hear
Again references to
the “apocalypse” are
used i.e.. “thunderous
breakdown. The
reader then gets the
idea of what the
sound of the track is
like and becomes
enticed to listen to it.
