Anderson Collection of United States Paper Money, the largest, finest, and most complete collection of Large Size United States paper money types in existence today. The collection of pre-1928 currency notes consists of Demand Notes, Legal Tender Notes, Compound Interest Notes, Interest Bearing Notes, Refunding Certificates, Silver Certificates, Treasury Notes, National Bank Notes, National Gold Bank Notes, Federal Reserve Bank Notes, Federal Reserve Notes, and Gold Certificates. Mr. Anderson had a goal to acquire the finest known for the seal type and amassed a collection that will most likely never be duplicated, no matter what budget a buyer may have. There are notes in this collection that are unique in private hands, as well as those that are absolutely unique, with no examples known in government institutions. The ESM Collections of Circulation Strike Flying Eagle and Indian Cents with Major Varieties are a true treat for small cent enthusiasts. Both are highly ranked sets on the PCGS Set Registry and contain exciting and elusive die varieties, as well as classic key dates in stunning condition. The collector, Pete Miller, took an interest in coins at an early age when his grandparents gave him Whitman albums for dimes, quarters, and half dollars. However, it was cents that most strongly drew his interest, and he has been pursuing rare small cents ever since.

The John E. Herzog Collection of United States Treasury Bonds – 1861 to 2000

Herzog, prominent numismatist, Wall Street financier, and founder of the Museum of American Finance. No collection of this scope has ever been offered before.

The late John Whitney Walter was known as Mr. 1796, in tribute to his incredible collection of United States coins of that year, sold by our firm in 1999. However, his numismatic interests were varied, with a concentration on quality and an interest in history. In fact, earlier he had built the Men of Rome Collection, which we had the honor of auctioning in 1990. At this year’s Official Auction of the ANA World’s Fair of Money, Mr. Walter’s family is pleased to present additional pieces from his collection, including ancient coins, federal United States coins, mint errors, and paper money. As was true of our earlier offerings, the items to be presented in our August 2018 Philadelphia auction will again display the connoisseurship for which Mr. Walter was renowned.
