To thank our Director’s Circle Members, Business Affiliates partners, sponsors, and major donors for your extraordinary support, we are hosting an “A-Maizing” evening of appreciation on Wednesday, July 26, 6-8 pm in the Stamford Museum galleries. This special, invitation-only Salon Series event will feature an exclusive gallery tour of our summer exhibition, MAIZE: Mysteries of an Ancient Grain, by Curator Kirsten Reinhardt, who will also introduce John Dowell, Professor Emeritus of Printmaking at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. John is a noted photographer of agricultural landscapes, and he will speak about several of his large-scale photos of corn that will be exhibited as part of this fascinating new exhibition. What’s more, we’re delighted to host Jack & David Baker, co-owners of Litchfield Distillery, Connecticut’s newest micro-distillery. The Bakers – whose family founded Crystal Rock Water 100 years ago in Stamford – will present a tasting of Litchfield Distillery’s hand-crafted spirits, most of which is distilled from corn grown by Lion Rock Farm in Sharon, Connecticut. To round out the evening’s menu of fun and fellowship, our friends from Fiesta on Main, Stamford’s favorite Peruvian restaurant, will be serving up an array of corn-themed “small bites.” Other appetizers, wine, and beer will also be served. Please RSVP by Friday, July 14, to Allison Biele; 203.977.6546 or [email protected].
