Dept. of Civil Engineering:
As the technological revolution continues, the world's population increases, and environmentalconcerns mount, Civil Engineering skills are needed throughout the world. Whatever area onechooses, i.e. design, construction, research, planning, teaching or management, Civil Engineeringoffers a wide range of career choices. Keeping this in view, a Course in Civil Engineering was startedby VNEC, Shorapur in year 2010 with an intake of 60 students. The students are encouraged toparticipate technical competitions, quiz and paper presentations, workshops, seminars andconferences etc. The Department has started of post-graduate course in Structural engineering. Theother objectives are to make the Department an effective R & D Centre as well as Centre forIndustrial Consultancy services.
