soloist,chambermusicenthusiast,andconcertmaster.AgraduateofSouthernMethodist

University,sheearnedherBachelor’sofMusicdegreeinViolinPerformanceunderthe

directionofEmanuelBorok.DuringhereducationatSMU,shewasawardedtheprestigious

PresserUndergraduateScholarAward,giventoanoutstandingmusicmajoreachyear.

AnativeofCalifornia,Eleanorbeganhermusicaleducationattheyoungageofthree.Under

thetutelageofviolinistGailGerdingMellert,shebeganherperformancecareerthroughout

California,enteredandplacedinmanycompetitions,andappearedasasoloistwith

symphoniessuchastheHollywoodBowlOrchestra.Fromayoungage,sheattendedmusic

festivalssuchastheAspenMusicFestivalandtheNewYorkStringOrchestraSeminar.Atthe

ageofsixteen,shebeganherundergraduatestudiesatSouthernMethodistUniversity.Eleanor

hasbeenhonoredtosharethestagewithincredibleartistssuchasRobertoandAndrésDíaz,

theEscherQuartet,Chee-YunKim,AlessioBax,andmanymore.Shecontinuestoperform

throughoutthecountrypresentingrecitalsandperformingwithesteemedorchestras.

YoungHeoisaprofessionaljazzbassistbasedinDallas,Texas.Younghadtheopportunityto

playinaprofessionalsettingwithEllisMarsalis,AdonisRose,DelfaeyoMarsalis,Stefan

Karlsson,andBernardWright,andrecordedovertwentyalbumsincludingOneO’clockLab

Band2013.

OriginallyfromSeoul,SouthKorea,YoungHeomovedtoUnitedStateswhenhewas16years

old.YoungattendedUniversityofTexasatArlingtonin2007andstartedplayingintensively

withtheUTAJazzOrchestraandtopjazzcombo.Bythetimehefinishedhisbachelordegreein

2010,hehadreceivedmultiplejazzscholarshipsandawardsincludingBillSnodgrassEndowed

JazzScholarshipAward.

In2011,YoungwasacceptedonscholarshipintothegraduatejazzprogramattheUniversityof

NorthTexas.AttheNorthTexas,Youngperformedwithschool’stopensemblesincludingthe

TwoO’clockLabBandandtheGrammy-nominatedOneO’clockLabBand.Whileintheband,he

hadopportunitiestoplaywithsuchplayersasPeterErskine,BobMoses,MikeStern,andmany

otherjazzartistsaroundtheworld.YoungwasawardedbyUNTmusicfacultyasthe

OutstandingGraduateJazzStudiesStudentfor2013.

SincethegraduationfromUNT,Younghasbeenverybusywithperformingandteachingin

Dallas.CurrentlyheteachesatCollinCollege,TarrantCountyCommunityCollege,Greater

DallasYouthOrchestra,andSouthwesternBaptistSeminary.

AnthonyPlanthasbeenplayingintherichmusicsceneofDallas/FtWorthsincehisearlyteens.

Hisguitarplayinghasgivenhimtheopportunitytoplaywithmanylegends,suchasMichaelW

Smith,AntonioSanchez(PatMethenyGroup),RandyBrecker,RonnieLaws,theTemptations,

BuckyPizzarelli,andSnarkyPuppytonameafew.Hestudiedguitaronscholarshipatthe

UniversityofNorthTexaswithFredHamiltonandJoeLee,andinDallas,TXwiththemasterful

JasonBucklin.

EquallyathomeplayingBrazilianbossanovaonclassicalnylonguitar,playingbeboplinesina

straight-aheadacousticjazzsettingonhisarchtop,orplayingsoaringleadsonelectricguitar,he

isinhighdemandintheDFWstudiosceneandhasrecordedonwellover100albums.Hisown

soloalbum,TheColouroutofSpace,wasreleasedin2012withhisoriginalcompositionsand

arrangements.HekeepsabusyscheduleplayinglocallyinDFW,touringnationallywiththe

DallasStringsQuartet,recordinginstudiosessions,teachingaselectgroupofstudents,andhe

istheMusicalDirectoratStJohnCatholicChurch.Whenhedoesn’thaveaguitarinhishands,

EfrenGuzmanJr.("Chiquis")standsoutamonghispeersforhisamazingflexibilityand

impeccablerhythm.Heisequallygiftedinallmusicalstyles:classical,pops,Broadway,Latin,

Jazz,BigBand,studiorecordings,etc.Hisfinesse,eleganceandcommandofallkindsof

percussioninstruments,makehimtrulyuniqueintheworldofmusic.Acompletemusician,his

pianoandcompositiongiftsareaddedattributestoanalreadystellarcareer.

EfrenwasborninMexicoCity.HeattendedtheNationalConservatoryofMusicandbeganhis

earlystudiesasadrummerwithhisfather.HecametotheUSAasascholarshipstudentofPaul

Guerrero(StanKenton'sdrummer)andlaterstudiedattheUniversityofNorthTexas,wherehe

distinguishedhimselfasadrummerandpercussionistunderthetutelageofProf.EdSoph,Dr.

RobertSchietroma,MikeDrakeandColaiuta,PeterErskine,DennisChambers,JackDejonette,

AlexAcuna,TitoPuente,DonFamularo,LuisConteandGiovanniHidalgo.HetouredtheUSA

andCanadaasamemberoftheGrammynominated"OneO'ClockJazzBand"in1991.Hehas

recordedwithartistssuchasArmandoManzanero,PlacidoDomingo,ArturoCastro,Emmanuel
