9) LABORATORY MANUAL
This manual has been prepared to present the standardized test procedures for checking materials for conformance with Ministry of Transportation specifications, Sultanate of Oman. This is intended to be used in our Central Materials Laboratory and our site Laboratories for guidance, reference, and instruction.
This manual has the current versions of our laboratory test procedures according to AASHTO, ASTM, BS, Concrete manual ACI and Asphalt Manual MS-2 procedures incorporate with Oman Design Highway Manual November 2017. Every effort has been made to make up to date this manual complete and accurate.
The objective of this manual is to:
Measure a property that is of importance to performance in service. Make the test as simple and straightforward as possible. Reduce to a reasonable minimum the elapsed time necessary for completing the test.
The manual is divided into four sections.
1. SOIL SECTION
2. AGGREGATE SECTION
3. BITUMINOUS SECTION
4. CONCRETE SECTION
