An Epistle from Paul: Don’t Despair! – A missionary was sitting at his second-story window when he was handed a letter from home. As he opened the letter, a crisp, new, ten-dollar bill fell out. He was pleasantly surprised, but as he read the letter his eyes were distracted by the movement of a shabbily dressed stranger down below, leaning against a post in front of the building. The missionary could not get this individual off his mind. Thinking this man might be in greater financial stress than he, he slipped the bill into an envelope on which he quickly penned “Don’t despair!” The missionary then threw it out the window. The stranger below picked it up, read it, looked up, smiled and tipped his hat and went on his way. The next day the missionary was about to leave the house when a knock came at the door. He found the same shabbily dressed man smiling as he handed him a roll of bills. When he asked what they were for, he replied: “That’s the sixty bucks you won. Don’t Despair paid five to one!” Oops, the man kind of missed it! In the most difficult of times, our Lord always comes through at just the right time. We have reason(s) not to despair – He promised that He would never leave or forsake us. Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “…being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,’ so that we confidently say, ‘The Lord is my Helper, I will not be afraid…’” In His Marvelous Love, Paul The Church of Christ 725 US 35 West P.O. Maxine Rodefer is Absent from the Body!

This past Wednesday was a day of mixed emotions for the church family here. Our sister in Christ, Maxine Rodefer is now present with the Lord. We already miss her but rejoice in the fact that she is no longer suffering in this world and in the body that was giving her fits…. Her passing is a reminder to each of us that our days are also numbered; so, until Christ returns or until He calls us Home, may we all be diligent in our worship and service to our Lord. May we be about the business of taking as many people to heaven with us as we possibly can…!!

Next Wed. Luncheon at Ronetti’s!

We will be taking another road trip for our next Wednesday Luncheon. We will be headed to London, Ohio (between Springfield and Columbus just South of Interstate 70). We will be taking the bus and headed to Ronetti’s,

a restaurant there with a great reputation. We urge you to make

plans to go with us on this excursion. Ed Bell will bless us with another solid devotion… good food and fellowship to cap it off!!!
