No Pain, No Gain

Chasten: to correct by punishment or suffering; to cause to be more humble or restrained

Job 5:17: Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. (NKJV)

Hebrews 12:6: For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” (NKJV)

Isaiah 11:1: A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

And the Story Continues

Revelation 1:6: and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10: And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

In Hebrew, the “Branch” is netser – this is the word from which we get “Nazarene”

Isaiah 11:2: The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—

1 Corinthians 1:30: It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Philippians 1:9-10: And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

Purpose of the KingdomIsaiah 11:3-5:

and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.

He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

Bad Time to Own a Zoo

Isaiah 11:6-8: The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.

Isaiah 11:10: In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

Exodus 17:15: Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner.

Isaiah 11:11: In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.

Isaiah 11:13-14: Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim. They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west; together they will plunder the people to the east. They will subdue Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be subject to them.

Isaiah 11:15: The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals.

Isaiah 11:16: There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt.

Matthew 3:3: This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”

Isaiah 12:1: In that day you will say: “I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me.

Isaiah 12:3: With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

Psalm 30:5: For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

The Rod/Stem

Isaiah 11:1: There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. (NKJV)

The Vine

Jeremiah 2:21: Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me into the degenerate plant of an alien vine? (NKJV)

John 15:1: I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
