Key words: process types, speech

There are three semantics categories which explain in general way how

phenomena of the real world are represented as linguistic structures:

circumstances, processes, and participant; Process is the most important part in a

sentence, therefore the writer is very interested to decide to choose process point,

because by processes we can understand the speaker utterances based on each

process. In this case, “Speeches of Obama’s Election Night And Oprah Winfrey’s

Last Show” Script is chosen because of some reasons. The first reason is that

Barack Obama is the president of USA which is a big power country. Surely, the

eyes of the whole world will give the attention to the president when he delivers

speech. That is why it is such an importa nt thing to take a look and pay attention

to the Barack Obama’s speech. The second reason is the Oprah Winfrey Show,

often referred to simply as Oprah, is an American syndicated talk show that aired

nationally for 25 seasons from 1986 to 2011. produced and hosted by its

namesake, Oprah Winfrey, it remains the highest-rated talk show in , the show

was highly influential, and many of its topics penetrated into the American pop-

cultural consciousness.

The purposes of this research are to find out Process types found in

Speeches of Obama’s Election Night And Oprah Winfrey’s Last Show and their

interpretations.This study includes in the descriptive qualitative research because

it involves organizing the problem, collecting and analyzing, accounting,

explaining, and stating conclusion the data. In this case, it described process types

found in “Speeches of Obama’s Election Night And Oprah Winfrey’s Last Show”.

The design of the research is descriptive qualitative research because it

involves organizing the problem, collecting and analyzing, accounting,

explaining, and stating conclusion the data. In this case, it describes process types

found in “Speeches of Obama’s Election Night And Oprah Winfrey’s Last Show”.

The result of this research shows that this research has found that six

process types were used in “Speeches of Obama’s Election Night And Oprah

Winfrey’s Last Show”.

There are 226 process types obtained from Obama’s speech, they are that

material process has 103 occurrences, behavioural process has 1 occurrence,

mental process 50 has occurrences, verbal process has 14 occurrences, relational

procces has 54 ocurrences and existential has process 4 ocurrences.

The writer also finds process types obtained from Oprah’s speech there are

429 process types obtained from Oprah’s speech. They are material process 177

occurrences. behavioural process has 4 occurrences, mental process has 72

occurrences, Verbal process has 42 occurrences, relational procces has 89

ocurrences and existential process has 34 ocurrences.

Based on the result above, some suggestions are forwarded to: readers

especially learners concerning language to do deeper study and research about

transitivity systems in order to get a better understanding of transitivity. lecturers

should give students more exercise to do to practice so that they can improve their

sensitivity in identifying process types and also interpreting process types because

those two kinds of jobs will not be easy to do. students can gain the knowledge

from many sources whether they are text books or research articles. Finally, it is

expected that the future research can do the analysis of other aspects of

Lexicogrammar, for instance, theme/rheme, mood/residue that applied to other

texts.

Ada tiga kategori semantik yang menjelaskan secara umum bagaimana cara

fenomena dunia nyata yang direpresentasikan sebagai struktur linguistik: keadaan,

proses, dan peserta; Proses adalah bagian terpenting dalam sebuah kalimat, oleh

karena itu penulis sangat tertarik untuk memutuskan untuk memilih poin proses,

karena dengan proses kita dapat memahami ucapan pembicara berdasarkan setiap

proses. Dalam kasus ini," Pidato Malam Pemilihan Obama Dan Show Terakhir

Oprah Winfrey " dipilih karena beberapa alasan. Alasan pertama adalah bahwa

Barack Obama adalah presiden Amerika Serikat yang merupakan negara kekuatan

besar.Tentunya,mata seluruh dunia akan memberikan perhatian kepada presiden

ketika ia menyampaikan pidato.Itulah mengapa, itu adalah sebuah hal yang

penting untuk melihat dan memperhatikan pidato Barack Obama. Alasan kedua

adalah Oprah Winfrey Show , sering disebut hanya sebagai Oprah, adalah

sindikasi talk show Amerika yang ditayangkan secara nasional selama 25 musim

1986-2011. diproduksi dan diselenggarakan oleh senama , Oprah Winfrey, talk

show dengan rating tertinggi, acara ini sangat berpengaruh, dan banyak topik yang

menembus ke dalam kesadaran budaya pop Amerika.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis Proses yang

ditemukan di Pidato Malam Pemilihan Obama Dan Show Terakhir Oprah Winfrey

dan interpretasinya. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif

karena melibatkan pengorganisasian masalah, mengumpulkan dan menganalisis,

menghitung, menjelaskan, dan menyatakan kesimpulan data. Dalam hal ini,

dijelaskan jenis proses yang ditemukan dalam " Pidato Malam Pemilihan Obama

Dan Show Terakhir Oprah Winfrey".

Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif karena

melibatkan pengorganisasianmasalah, mengumpulkan dan menganalisis,

menghitungi, menjelaskan, dan menyatakan kesimpulan data. Dalam hal ini, itu

menggambarkan jenis proses ditemukan dalam "Pidato Malam Pemilihan Obama

Dan Show terakhir Oprah Winfrey".

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penelitian ini telah menemukan

bahwa enam jenis proses yang digunakan dalam "Pidato Malam Pemilihan Obama

Dan Show Terakhir Oprah Winfrey".

Ada 226 jenis proses yang diperoleh dari pidato Obama, mereka bahwa

proses material memiliki 103 kejadian, proses perilaku memiliki 1 kejadian,

proses mental yang memiliki 50 kejadian , proses verbal yang memiliki 14

kejadian, proses relasional memiliki 54 kejadian dan proses eksistensial memiliki

4 kejadian.

Penulis juga menemukan jenis proses yang diperoleh dari pidato Oprah

terdapat 429 jenis proses yang diperoleh dari pidato Oprah . Mereka adalah proses

material 177 kejadian . Proses perilaku memiliki 4 kejadian , proses mental yang

memiliki 72 kejadian, proses verbal memiliki 42 kejadian, procces relasional

memiliki 89 kejadian dan proses eksistensial memiliki 34 kejadian.

Berdasarkan hasil di atas, beberapa saran yang diteruskan ke: pembaca

khususnya peserta didik mengenai bahasa untuk melakukan studi yang lebih

mendalam dan penelitian tentang sistem transitivitas dalam rangka untuk

mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik transitivitas. dosen harus memberikan

siswa lebih banyak latihan yang harus dilakukan untuk berlatih sehingga mereka

dapat meningkatkan sensitivitas mereka dalam mengidentifikasi jenis proses dan

juga menafsirkan jenis proses karena kedua jenis pekerjaan tidak akan mudah

dilakukan. siswa dapat memperoleh pengetahuan dari berbagai sumber apakah

mereka buku-buku teks atau artikel penelitian. Akhirnya, diharapkan bahwa

penelitian masa depan dapat melakukan analisis aspek-aspek lain dari

Lexicogrammar, misalnya, theme/ Rheme, mood / residu yang diterapkan pada

teks-teks lain.
