PRINCIPALS’ FORUM

You are encouraged to take opportunities to collaborate, share issues, and problem solve with participants within the same city, district and state.

This afternoon you will have time to meet with your city cohort of administrators to examine one of the topics suggested or another topic relevant to your city and circumstances.

Your team will be expected to share the results of your task on Wednesday morning at 8am.

Your team is encouraged to demonstrate their creativity in designing their brief presentation (5 minutes or less). Visual representations are appreciated.

SUGGESTED FORUM TOPICS

1. How can the DN/TDS resources be leveraged to:

• Support the teacher evaluation system in your district?

• Complement support for teachers and students in shifting to the Common Core Standards or TEKS(Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) and PARC-like assessments?

• Address the needs of the students and their families who were absent more than ten percent of the school year?

2. How will you monitor and support your instructional coaches to assure that they are spending 70% of their time providing in-classroom support?

4. What solutions have you identified and implemented to allow for a master schedule that accommodates team planning, cohorts and regular professional development opportunities for staff?
